Our flats vary from 4, 5 or 6 bedrooms. If you could email us on thetramshed@prestigestudentliving.com and i can tell you how many people are in each flat you are looking at :)
The price is based on the floor/view the room has - so, bronze are typically on a lower floor whereas silver are on a higher floor with views over the city.
We do not have dish washers i'm afraid.

What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

You get a premium feel to the accommodation. It’s good value for money, the room and bathroom size, storage options are adequate, but the best part is the Tramshed kitchens. Most of them are huge, which allows you to have a good social time with your flatmates. The maintenance is one of the best I have seen, fastest fixes to issues as long as you report them through the app. The reception staff are very kind, always helpful and understanding of issues you face.

Tramshed is one of the best accommodations in Preston in terms of quality and price. They offer a range of room options that are all spacious and fit with double bed en-suites. The staff here are all super friendly and are always willing to help. The location is super helpful also being so close to town and also main University buildings. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing place to live, staff and very friendly and helpful! When dealing with maintenance they were straight on it and helping in any way that they could. Always something to do and always events and competitions happening!
I’ve lived here for two years now, the wifi is a bit spotty sometimes it’s great sometimes it doesn’t work so if you have an important interview or something go to the library but it’s the perfect distance from campus, less than 5 mins from the gym and max 15 minute walk to lectures as well as being a 10 minute walk from the high street. The staff on reception are really lovely and put all sorts of events on during the year for different celebrations which is nice.
I’m in my 3rd year of living at Tramshed and absolutely love it. The flats are neat with plenty of room and the location is ideal for the university and also the town centre.
It’s my first year in tramshed and i love it! my brother has also been in tramshed for 2 years and i always loved coming rounf to his flat due to the kitchen space and the common area is a great social place!

Been living here for 2 years and have rebooked for my final year! Absolutely love it. The staff aswell are beyond accommodating and supportive. Any problems that come up, they sort it asap Kitchen/living room is very spacious and there’s everything right on your doorstep as it’s very close to the town and a 10 minute walk to the train station

Lived here for 2 years (going into my third year now). Amazing place to live, staff are so friendly and always have something going on for everyone to take part in, breakfast clubs, giveaways etc. Rooms are lovely couldn’t recommend enough
stayed here for my last 2 years at uni and was great. maybe a bit steep in price but other than that was great, staff were friendly, made a load of new friends and memories from my time here.
Lived here for 3 years and rebooked for my final year, great staff with plenty of events throughout the year to take part in. Right on campus so you can wake up 20 minutes before your lecture and still be on time🤭. All ensuite rooms with plenty of storage space and good WiFi (98% of the time).
Overall great experience, great area to live. Massive spaces in the rooms and kitchens.

I have been living here whilst doing a Masters in Animation at Uclan. The accomodation is great as it is in a really good location close to the town, the train station, and the University is on your doorstep. The staff are also really nice and accommodating.

I’ve lived here since September and have had issues with my shower drain and toilet smelling. I have reported this a number of times to be told they have exhausted all options and believe it may be stagnant water. However, this isn’t resolving the issue. I have also been asked to clean the toilet. Not sure how many times it needs to be cleaned as this is an everyday issue. It is not pleasant staying in a room with a foul smell being emitted from both the toilet and shower drain. The shower drain was also not blocked when I moved in and yet was still smelling. They have suggested a room change. However, I have respectful and mature flat mates who are very considerate (they’re not noisy at night, don’t hold house parties and are never drunk) I don’t have the time to be moving my things about. This issue clearly needs looking into by a qualified plumber.
I’ve been here six months and already rebooked. This is due to the social aspect of the halls combined with the friendly staff that run it. I would highly recommend to any new fresher students.
Great place to live in for the last two years. Everything is great and the staff are really easy to get along with. I've enjoyed living here as it's in a great part of the city, and the fact that the building is quite well-maintained. The maintenance is quick and easy and I've rarely ever had problems with it. Additionally, the staff are nice and friendly, making this experience a great one overall. It's a shame I'm no longer a student because I'd have liked to stay here for a little longer - the convenience is excellent. Big fan of the place and I highly recommend it over other accommodations in Preston.
I’ve lived here since September and plan to live here again next year. The staff are so lovely and always go above and out of their way to make sure we feel welcomed through doing things such as chocolate foundations, pizza and Prosecco days and pancakes recently on pancake Tuesday. The rooms are very nice and good quality for money. If anything is ever broken it’s fixed as soon as we let them know. Would highly recommend as both staff and students are so nice and it’s a good environment to meet loads of new people

I will be leaving and looking for alternative student housing., 1) Its to noisy keep your windows closed! 2. If you like Amsterdam older women and clubs then please do come here.! 3. It's too expensive !! 4..The wireless internet is unusable !! Just please don't come here ! !
Hello, This review is quite hard to reply to as parts of it had our staff quite confused. In order to reply properly, i will address each point in turn. 1) Since our building is right in the middle of both the University and the city centre, you will find that it will not always be silent here on site. This is student accommodation and we have a 'quiet period' set out in all residents tenancy agreement between the hours of 11pm - 7am. If this is not adhered to, we always ask students to call our 24hr staff mobile on 07514625406 and we will see to it straight away. Anything outside the buidling such as the current road works that are manned by UCLAN are unfortunely out of our control although we can absolutely see the annoyance, the council have told us that the works outside the buidling are due to end in February and they respect our wishes to only start works after 8am. 2) Our staff were really stumped on this one. We have excellent and unique social events that all our students (and students from different accommodations!) rave about and look forward to but Amsterdam older women and clubs had us confused! Again, please do call our security number above for any noise/antisocial complaints. 3) As we are a luxury accommodation and have lots of unique selling points that alot of our competitors cannot beat such as legendary social events, amazing social spaces, an onsite gym, 24hr staffing, right in the centre of the University and city, modern flat lay out and landscaped gardens, our prices are well justified. The rising cost of utilities are also a huge contributor on this. We always suggest taking advantage of our great 'rebooking' or 'refer a friend' offers on our website. 4) Our internet is supplied by a company called GLIDE which have a 24 hr customer help line. if you are facing any wifi issues, please do call them and they can diagnose your device remotely. They also have a call our service if your issue can not be fixed remotely. Alternatively, our gaming crazed students find that using the ethernet ports in their rooms a much better internet experience. Disgusting. My shower has been leaking a foul brown substance ever since I moved in in September. I made two complaints, one in September and one in November, only to be told that there was actually no maintenance person currently employed by The Tramshed, and since my shower has still not been fixed, I assume that they still haven’t managed to find one now nearing the end of January. Not sure how legal this practice is. I’m lucky i have family that live close by the university as the few times I’ve actually used my room at the Tramshed and used the shower there I have become very sick. This place needs shutting down and having the local health and safety people look into it. And the staff just feel sorry for themselves when you email, telling you “we’re all trying our best”. For the price I’m paying for my room your best is not enough and your severe lack of hygienic practices is making me physically ill. Couldn’t be worse.
Hello, Our deepest apologies this hasnt yet been seen to. We have had a short period of having no maintnenace person employed here at The Tramshed which you will find happens in any business. Our aim to find the best fit for the miantnenace job has made it hard with applicants. If there is a lack of candiaites applying for the job, it is somewhat out of our control, we can only advertise rigorously on all major platforms. We have also had Christmas period in between this. We do now have a maintenance person which has been here since December, this has been emailed out to all tenants to keep you updated. The way we carry out jobs here is to ask the student to log their issue on our 'MainManager' app so that we can keep you up to date with the status of your job. On checking our logs, i cant see anything for a brown substance in a shower. If you could contact us directly at thetramshed@prestigestudentliving.com i can get someone up today for you. The Tramshed is a fantastic place for all students to live. It’s in an ideal location, right in the heart of campus. There are regular social events organised by the management team and a brilliant common room ideal for socialising. The staff are really friendly and happy to help. The flats are extremely modern, and really well priced for the location and facilities provided. Living here has made my uni experience all the more enjoyable, and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

I want to say nice things because it's not awful accommodation but I'd rather be honest. It's nice here if you're genuinely not picky and want to be somewhere a bit nicer than normal halls: - Internet is really bad - Gym is super tiny, can't fit more than like 2 people - Laundry machines are always broken. They've broken so many times and left us with either washed clothes or clothes stuck in the machines, and they've flooded before too - Website says "lockable bedroom" but staff just let themselves in using a master key and multiple times, they've let themselves into our flat without prior permission, kind of uncomfortable/invasive/weird?? - Huge management problem, - No parking Staff try their best and I know it's been hard with Covid-19. The location IS great; it needs so much work, definitely not "luxury" living or 5 stars and I've been here 2 years
Hi hollywritesreviews, The Tramshed staff we’re extremely upset reading this review. We have looked in to your review and have found this to be a little unfair given your complaints you have presented to staff at reception and how we went above and beyond to resolve your issues within your flat. Some staff went as far as resolving your issues outside of their working hours. To respond to your review properly, I will address each point in turn. The internet here is of very high quality and we pride ourselves in having over 200MBPs which is higher than our competition. Our provider, Glide, have a 24 hour line to help you with any issues you have with your internet on your devices and can remotely diagnose and help you should you wish. The gym is designed for one flat at a time to use, we have state of the art equipment which again, is better than our competition. We have a treadmill, cross trainer, running machine, multi-pulley machine, over 20 different free weights and a bench press. This would somewhat challenge the 2 person at a time review. The laundry machines are owned by Circuit laundry, the biggest student accommodation provider in the UK. They are serviced monthly and don’t seem to have had any issues this academic year – could you please contact us to provide more details? The machines are off for a short period of 15 minutes every month whilst they are being tested. Regarding accessing your room, we send emails to give 24 hours notice every time we need to enter a room to complete health and safety checks or maintenance jobs. We pride ourselves in our high level of safety on site and therefore must complete checks on rooms time to time. All access notifications go to your email address provided on booking, please make sure you check your junk mail. We assure you that we would not access without notifying first. Please could you contact site to provide further evidence for the above claim? We unfortunately cannot do much in regards to parking, not many student accommodations in Preston provide parking due to the city being so built up. We do suggest the car park next door to us which can be found on google maps under ‘St.Mary’s car park’. They do provide monthly passes. We assume that when students rebook with us, they are happy with our service and facilities. We note that you have stayed with us for 2 years as mentioned above. Thank you for noting that our staff are absolutely trying our best during these extremely challenging times. We have been present on site all the way through the pandemic whilst going back to our families at home after work. This review really has come as a shock as we have tried our upmost this year to keep our students happy since we know this has been an awful year to be at university. Again, please do contact us to discuss this further. We have found you to be a great student here and the staff remember you as a regular friendly face. We would be really hurt to see you leave on a bad note.
Generally it is good, but there was some weird smell when I came to my room at induction day.
