IQ Kopa is an all round solid accommodation. It leans on the expensive side which deters a lot of students but, if you're entitled to the full loan then its worse the comfortable living, and if you aren't entitled to the full loan because mummy and daddy make a lot of money and wish to give you that money then you also have nothing to complain about. Worst point of this accommodation is merely the other students, no fault of the accommodation. Very generally clean, away from city centre so less delinquency.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
I have lived at iq kopa for 3 years now and it have been a comfortable accommodation to live it with not many faults.
IQ Kopa provides a great living experience
Really nice place to stay, good value for money.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 years spent living here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond to help students out. I highly recommend choosing IQ if you are studying in Preston.
I’m so happy of living here, the location is perfect and I’ve been so lucky with my flatmates, we are all like a little family. I just want to point that the comunal areas cleaning are a bit poor for me, I was expecting more. For the rest, everything is fine for the price we pay
Common areas closed/gym closed to be expected in lockdown, however they offered us 14 weeks of rent reduction and now i have nothing to pay for my last instalment and i'm £100s in credit! Been a strange year but wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!
Worst experience of my life, couldn't wait to leave. The security door broke for weeks, never got fixed in the end, strangers can literally just walk into your flat. Security guards couldn't care less about safety, can't even speak English either.
Rooms are a semi decent size, the showers are something to be desired and having the power outlets along one wall is a stupid design choice. The beds or should i say mattresses feel like they may well just be made of stone. The only redeeming quality IQ has is a stable and strong internet connection.
IQ is the best halls to be in, even though I'm a first year everyone else in different halls always says they would prefer to live in IQ because everyone is ver sociable and talkative!
Security are useless, they couldn't give a damn that we got vandalised TWICE. And you pay for more or less nothing so don't stay at IQ. Find somewhere else.
Mad parties, awesome community, stupid curfew. Awesome, modern, clean space for first year though.
Nice place to live, staff friendly and helpful and a great atmosphere.
Great 1st year halls and fun place to live
Class halls that make you feel home and comfortable!
Staff always putting little activities on and planning social events, only Hall with a social hub with sky and a pool table, never had to go to post office reception collected parcels, good ensuites only down side was the lack of fridge/freezer space
Too expensive, no tv in communal room. Recharge costs way too high at the end of tenancy for ridiculous things
Well IQ Preston is a fun place to live in first year. It's well positioned especially if you are a sports student. IQ staff are all well and good untill something goes wrong, then they dodge all responsibility, they avoid helping you and tbh make things worse! The security staff are a bit rubbish too
Great staff, decent sized room added bonus of common room and that reception pick up your parcels so you don't have to trek to town
Treated like children at school
Love my big type 2 room and the IQ atmosphere! Nice place to live!
Pretty poor place to live, but it is what you make of it the also counts! The staff are quite rude and always seem to have something to winge about but they also managed to put me in with the most cracking group of people I have ever met so for that I thank you IQ Kopa!
Everything is good. Love dave he is amazing. Flat is always messy there should be some kind of cleaning check where students are forced into cleaning as its unfair on others that don't want to live in such conditions.
Rent is overpriced for such a small room and freezer is way too small for 6 people, awful.
Iq is by far the best halls in Preston! So easy to meet everyone and it's literally next to campus and five minutes from town.
Had a great first year here! Bit expensive though.
Self catering, clean and large en-suite rooms. Nice bathroom, decent kitchen with a poor setting area but great staff.
over prices, emails come across very pretentious like we are privileged to be living there. Flat was unclean when I entered it and I may have to pay charges if I don't clean my room properly, decoration is bland and depressing. 6 people sharing one small freeze? Good one! Our fridge has broken 4 times and every time it's been fixed it's been broken again within a day of using it. DO NOT stay there. Stay at Lawson Halls!
Not worth the money when other private halls offer more for the money. The rooms are ok, painted averagely in magnolia, good desk space and chair is nice. You'll need a mattress topper that's quite thick as the mattresses are horribly uncomfortable. There is no plug sockets anywhere near the bed so if you want to charge your phone and go on it in bed I suggest buying a three metre or more extension lead with you! The kitchen is ok, oven seems a bit old with a crappy grill but it works fine. Good thing is it's good for socialising but the noise is bad on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Security are very good onsite and the women at reception are helpful and polite. The biggest selling point for these halls is Dave the maintenance man! He is always available to help you fix anything whatsoever. He'll stop and chat to you whenever and genuinely take good care of you if you need him! Overall, I have enjoyed the stay here but am glad to be going soon!
Poor value for money, they take the money off you and then dont offer much else to you.
Too expensive for what it is and I'm in the cheapest room so other rooms will be even worse. Want to charge you for everything but got the basics that you need,
Decent halls but charge far too much for what you get
They charge you about 90 million for the end of year move out, ridiculous. £100 for not cleaning the cooker?
IQ is a pleasant place to live . It is close to the university campus , 24 hour access to the washing machines and dryers. There is on sight recycling and the office staff are there to help . However IQ comes with expensive financial consequences for the slightest of mishaps.
2nd year here. Great accommodation
Iq is the best halls to stay in for first year at uclan, basically on campus
Halls aren't that bad, room is small and dark and the charges when you move out are ridiculous. Clearly the room cannot be lived in to avoid charges, even though we're paying 99.50 per week.
