they take a recycling bin bag everyday but what do we do if we have a bag of food waste where do we take it?

Hi,
Our cleaners take 1 x bag of recycling out of each kitchen on a daily basis, it is the responsibility of the flat as a whole to take out all general waste and glass recycling to the container bins outside.

Very expensive for what it is! Cheaper to go private which can actually be much more luxurious.

Good quality room, very warm and comfortable enough. Feel that the furniture is a bit outdated and that for the price I’m paying, could be nicer in many aspects.

The communal spaces in the flat are cleaned once a week so it’s is kept reasonably tidy it is good though if you have messy roommates (like me). The kitchen is our only communal space so I only really interact with the people in my flat if I’m going to interact with anyone. If anything is broken it is usually fixed within a week or so, however there was a leak in our roof in the kitchen that was left for longer, it has stopped leaking now but we’re are not sure if it is completely as there is still viable water damage. The WiFi is temperamental as I have to reconnect every time I get back to accommodation but once I’m connected it is fine for studying and streaming tv shows/movies. It is a bit on the expensive side for what you get but that’s just how much most are now.

It’s great to have a cleaning rota in-between for everyone to contribute to the cleaning of the communal spaces.

It’s very safe and secure here. The maintenance team are very fast and efficient and usually fix everything by the next day. Security is really good and reliable aswell
I was in New Hall in my first year and my experience overall was very good. I think that if you are studying at Clifton Campus then it is very helpful but for someone who had all of their lectures and classes in the City, the commute was something that always had to be taken into account. However, a half an hour bus journey was not too damaging. As I said, for someone studying at Clifton it is great, and getting into the City for nights out is always doable. I think the rooms were fine and the kitchens too. Apart from some issues with receiving back my deposit, nice reception staff.
Good place to live. But some problems related to traveling and night out are strange for students

New hall is great for social experiences and making new friends. Great location on Clifton Campus.
New Hall was reasonably priced and the kitchens are a great social space. The cleaner comes once a week and cleans the kitchen, and the staff were good at fixing things and keeping on top of things. I never had an issue with Wifi.
New hall is a great place to live if you are based on clifton campus. It is modern and up to date with the decorations and lay out of the flat. The rooms are the perfect size with lots of storage under the bed and shelf space. The en-suite bathrooms are great.
I’ve loved my time at New Hall, been so fun to socialise and meet new people.
Although I stayed here during lockdown, there were still a few events on at the SU. However, there were no social spaces that we could meet people, that there were in other NTU accommodations. It is located on Clifton campus which is about 20 minutes from the centre of town, which means that you need to get a bus here as it isn't in walking distance. But there is a bus that stops right outside and connects the two campuses and goes in to the town.
This accommodation isn’t in city but on campus which is great for Clifton students. Transport is good with night buses running hourly till 3/4am. There’s a small on-campus shop round the corner and lots of sports play on Wednesday which are within a walk away to spectate.
Maintenance was always super quick and helpful, cleaning was regular but not always amazing standard, going out was easy enough with the bus routes and night bus, living 5 mins from lectures was nice, the social part of the kitchen was okay - too small and some sofas were not that comfy
Lovely place to live, with big kitchens for house parties and having friends over.

Cleaning staff are lovely but accommodation staff overall are rather rude and strict. There are no social spaces at all, even though the price is very high. Weekly socials are held but it is more sitting in a room rather than an actual social.

Staff are useless and rude. Smoking in buildings and they don’t respond. Bathroom flooded a few times and has not been fixed. So expensive for what you get. Would not recommend. There are much better halls for the same price
Staff very temperamental (sometimes really nice but often angry and rude). Can hear people upstairs, people walking in the corridors, etc. Uncomfortable mattresses. Cleaning staff refused to clean for us after we had a few pans on the side and complained about us to other flats, because she didn’t like us she also kept accusing us of things. Got charged for a mark on the sofa that was there before we moved in. A lot of fights and constant smell of weed.
Not practical for going into the city, and is noisy by the road! Security staff are often too strict on noise complaints

Staying at New hall during first year has been great as it's right on campus, and although the price is reflected mostly on this factor it's still a great residence

New Hall is very modern. The flat kitchens are very big and there’s more than enough space for more than one person to cook in there. All rooms have amazing en-suite bathrooms and the rooms are very well equipped.
New hall is pretty modern with reasonable sized rooms and pretty large kitchens. I'm going to try and come up with some things that other reviews don't mention that I have noticed about new hall while living here. What's good: Despite being single beds they are longer length. The desks are pretty big and curve around the corner. Shower room is nice and easy to keep clean. Kitchens are pretty big and have a large table and a corner sofa which we rearranged to 2 sofas facing each other. The Freshers reps get very involved in their flats, they get the whole block together and made pres really fun (even helped us clean the kitchen in the morning). What's not so good: I'm in the closest block to the point (campus bar) and Its pretty loud til late on Thursday nights. The extractor fan in the kitchen is automatic and quite loud. There is no extractor fan in the bathroom. The doors are not soundproof at all, you can easily hear a quiet conversation through them.
There was no social area for those living in studios, a games room or social soace would have be nice thos last year
Amazing freshers team, had a great time
This hall was literally 5 minutes away from most of my lecturers meaning I could leave last minute. All rooms include their own shower and toilet, and the only facility shared is the kitchen. The cleaners are very friendly and try to set up different competitions and other events to support students working together.
Generally a good place with friendly staff and an on site location. Students can be noisy and do stupid things at times but will talk to you at times. Flat depends on people though so social experiences can vary.
New Hall was a great experience. Shame there was not a place where you could get together with other flats, such as a common room. It was nice to have communal areas within the flats to be with housemates. WiFi was shocking would always cut out at vital moments (such as watching the football, oh and revising and doing coursework). Cleaner was lovely and did a fabulous job. The little competitions were great to join in with. The Hall as an overall experience was great.
The accommodation was brilliant. A very clean and modern place to live but the price of living there seemed very expensive compared to other similar accommodation at other Universities.
New Hall campus is beautiful and really good fun, made all my new friends at uni from my uni block!
I got the jackpot with my halls and flat! I love the fact that you got to pick where you wanted to go including the room as I got to think what would be best for me. If there were problems, they were fixed as quickly as possible. I got to live with incredible people not only in the l flat but in the hall block. Apart from the rubbish service and WiFi, living in new hall was the best!

Nice facilities, could have a tv
I lived in a studio so it was difficult to make friends within my block but in freshers week I joint in with a different block which helped me make many good friends. The facilities were good but I didn't like paying for washing.
Loved my accommodation and the management was great whenever needed.
Its on campus so is in an excellent location. The rooms are spacious and modern and there is a large amount of storage available. The communal kitchen has a lot of storage and you will have one shelf in the fridge and the freezer. However, it is quite expensive compared to other options.
Decent, locations a bit s*** if you like going to the city but everything else is good
New Hall is a lovely place to live. Modern and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Personally I got the room knowing I would not have a common room to go to or place to socialise outside of the flat within the accommodation. Just over 5 grand is a lot for what you get. I know there are other accommodation in the city which is better quality and you get a lot more for less, but you have to travel. There are not many washing machines which means you do have to wait but that's not much of an issue. Freshers week you are introduced to everyone within your block and each flat has their own hosting of pre-drinks. You get to meet everyone and the freshers reps are very friendly and also making new friends with everyone. Socially you are able to make very good friends with people in your flat (if you are lucky). Internet can be slow at times but the good old switch on and off again you are right back with it. The upgrading of the wifi has helped a lot in recent months.
It's okay..the Internet is rubbish and the value for money is ridiculous..it's £136 and other places which are better than this are probably cheaper
I had the most amazing time here. Halls is the best times of your life
It is really spacious and fun place to live with easy access to town and the campus (duh it is on campus). It has nice kitchens and you always feel safe with security and the fob system to enter the buildings. Lovely new accommodation i really enjoy living in.

Fantastic modern and pretty much brand-new, New Hall was an awesome place to live in my first year of university, even if it is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth it.
Clifton campus has a really relaxed vibe! Accommodation is very expensive but if you're studying in Clifton then it's a must - commuting from city is not what you wanna do.
There is a lack of social spaces except for the shared kitchen/living room area which can be a bit cramped. The management team can be slow to respond to complaints -we complained about wasps 4 months ago and nothing has changed.
