Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Shame that the building isn't finished, love my room but it's really noisy living here
Ten Traffic Street is the best place for students as it's close to the city centre and train station and the staff are friendly and provide fun events and act8vitoes for us to do. Highly recommended.
ten traffic street has amazing staff who are always there to help out with any queries, they’re always friendly and supportive and give the place a sense of homeliness. Staying at ten traffic street is safe, convenient as it’s close to the station and to the city centre, clean and fun, with great people.
It’s been a good few months, issues sometimes take too long to fix, construction is still happening, staff is friendly, events happen frequently, overall 3.5/5
Great place with various fun activities and great management team and social spaces, definitely recommended.
Laura is a lovely staff who always has a smile on her face. Makes my day
a lovely place they host amazing social events especially the events run by Laura
All amazing friendly staff ,events so far have been great and you can tell have had a lot of effort put into them to give tenants the best living and social experience very well organised by Laura , Ollie is always around and ready to help with any issue or just for a quick chat always with a smile! Pat fixes any maintenance issues promptly and always makes you feel comfortable when he is entering your space. Overall a great living experience with a great location 10 mins walk to the city centre , train station and transport all conveniently close by with some exceptions that can be expected when moving into a new building , unfinished work on the building and some amenities not being available due to them not being ready although advertised however these issues are not in the property teams control and all efforts are taken to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This is due to unforeseen delays in construction. Overall great property/team. Book next year and you won’t be disa
I love living at Ten Traffic Street, the site team are sooo friendly especially Ollie and Laura.
The accommodation is fantastic, with great facilities and a ideal location in the city centre. Ollie and Laura are very helpful and kind
very helpful and friendly reception staff, especially Ollie
Really nice place for students to stay in Nottingham. With nice facilities. 👍
The site team are fantastic and they always have fun and exciting events planned every week!
Ten traffic street is a good place to stay, they host loads of social events Where you get to meet new people and have fun from ice skating to bowling. The staff are also soo nice always smiling 😊
The living space is very nice and lively. The staff are very kind and supportive. Would recommend my friends to live here.
Had a lovely experience at this accommodation! The staff are so friendly and nice. They host amazing events! Thankyou so much
Generally a great place to be: being nearby to the train station and key transport routes, having a fast and stable internet connection, and having frequent social events being organised by the team.
The accommodation is close to the train station (5 minutes walk) and not too far from city centre. They have lots of events every week including cinema night which is my favourite (the cinema room is amazing and the popcorn yummy). Friendly stuff but Ollie and Charlotte are the best, they are amazing and always ready to help you with whatever you need.
It’s really good, the social spaces are really nice and the events they throw are amazing
Laura and Olly are friendly and made sure we enjoyed the ice hockey which they arranged for us and many other events
It’s a really good property and they have a lot of events going every week Thanks you ollie and laura for arranging it for us
I’ve been staying here for around a month now and I love it very much so far. Everyone is so kind and lovely here. It’s the perfect home away froM home!
Good events and facilities. .
Very friendly staff, fun social spaces ! Really nice location close to the train station
Ashley and Ollie are the best staff members they always help me with packages and any enquires I have. I love this accommodation and it’s so aesthetically pleasing too.
The property is beautiful, but the staff make the place, they are always really helpful - they even ask what type of events that students would like for them to put on so that students can meet each other
Lovely place with accessible location to the city and great staff!! :)
Ten Traffic Street is a great place to live with easy access to all the university campuses and the city centre via tram. The location is also close to the train station making it easy to set off and come back. The staff are helpful, welcoming, and are exceptional at knowing who each student is (which is not an easy feat). They've arranged fun events for the students for various holidays and celebrations. The built-in cinema is definitely a plus. The rooms are brand new yet feel like home-away-from-home. I would definitely recommend living here.
