All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

I’ve been here a month, and it’s been mostly positive. The room is comfortable with plenty of storage, and the communal kitchen is a great social spot. The location is convenient for campus and shops. My only issue is some noise from the main road, as my room faces it, but overall it’s a well-managed place to stay.
Nice rooms. Close to shops, bus routes and the university. There’s often activities and events going on, and the staff are helpful when you have an issue.
I've only been here a month, but I already adore the place. Raleigh Park has all the essentials that a student 👩🎓 👨🎓 fundamentally needs, including a study table with a chair, a large compartmentalised cabinet, another table with drawers, and a book shelf. The nicest aspect is that we can contact them in an emergency (the reception has someone on duty around-the-clock to assist us). The maintenance staff is right outside your door; all we have to do is email them with the problem and the room number, and the job will be completed quickly. With various events happening periodically and a ton of goodies during welcoming sessions, the social room is really great. The social room is fantastic, with a variety of events taking place on a periodic basis & a heap of treats during greeting sessions. Wednesdays are filled with fun events, such as pizza making & baking & free meals. The neighbourhood is kept clean and several security precautions are in place, such as installing bars.

We are so pleased you had a positive experience whilst staying with us. Thanks! The Raleigh Park Team.
Raleigh Park is hands down one of the best student accommodations in Nottingham! From the moment I moved in, I was impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the high standards maintained throughout. The location is perfect—situated just a short walk from the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus and with easy access to Nottingham’s city center, making it ideal for both studying and exploring the city’s vibrant social scene. The facilities are excellent, with spacious and well-designed rooms that provide plenty of storage space and comfort. The kitchens are modern and well-equipped, perfect for cooking and socializing with flatmates. The common areas, including the study rooms and social spaces, are fantastic places to relax, work, or mingle with other students. The on-site laundry facilities and bike storage are also very convenient. The staff at Raleigh Park are incredibly friendly and always ready

Opposite to Lidl cannot overstate how good that is

Amazing staff, much cleaner than expected and worth every penny. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Hi There Thanks for such kind words, we are really pleased you enjoyed your time with us. Best wishes, The Raleigh Park team.
Raleigh park is definely stress-free as mentioned. My first year has been really simple and straightforward especially due to the very helpful reception team.
Thanks so much for the kind words, we are so pleased you've had a stress free start to your accommodation journey! Best wishes The Raleigh Park team
very good experience and very good value of price.

Excellent value for money. Staying again next year
Hi There Thanks so much, we are so pleased that you have enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back next year. Best wishes The Raleigh Park Team.
Been here for a few months and have had no complaints
Hi There Thank you for the positive feedback! Acis Students Team.
Really friendly and helpful staff and great location
Hi there Thank you so much for the kind words. We are pleased to hear you had a great experience with us! Best wishes, The Raleigh Park Team.
You will get charged for damages that you had nothing to do with. There is no appeal process either so you are at their mercy when it comes to damages. Do not come here if you value your cleanliness or money. Overpriced rooms for what you get and then as if you weren't already paying an arm and a leg they will charge you for damages you had no part in
Hello, We're sorry to hear that you feel you didn't have a good experience with us at Raleigh Park. As per the contract, we charge for any damages to the accommodation and will usually document the proof against the account. Please reach out to us at raleighpark@acisstudents.co.uk and we can look into this further and discuss with you. Thank you, The Raleigh Park team
Very bad for adjustments even though it is said for multiple times.
Thank you for your review, if you have any concerns then we'd be happy to discuss them with you, please contact main reception, thank you.
Value for money but the support stuff enters the flat without asking. If any maintenance is needed they take a lot of time. The support stuff is not friendly.
Thank you for your comments and we're sorry to hear about the issues you've raised. All staff must knock a couple of times before entering a flat and must clearly announce themselves upon entry. They should also always have ID to show. If you could please contact reception then we'd be happy to discuss these concerns with you and look in to this in more detail. Thank you
Property is well managed. The staff is professional and provides good support to the resident students.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we'll make sure the team receive your feedback!
good location, quite near to Jubliee campus ,very convenient and good service.
Thank you for taking the time to post this lovely review!
I’ve had a very good experience on raleigh park, very nice Staff and always there to help. The furniture is definitely not the best qualilty. The beds are the worst.
Thank you for your review! Sorry to hear the beds aren't great, we'll make sure to get this raised
Great location -short walking distance to lidl/tesco and other food options. Walking distance to jubilee campus or a short bus ride to the main UoN campus. A large accomodation meaning many social opportunities and near to other off campus accommodations so a very student based area. One of the cheapest accommodation options which is helpful for those that can’t afford £200 a week like what is charged on campus. Would stay here again
Good spot, supermarkets and takeaways very close by and not far from main campus. Social spots not far (e.g clubs, bars and restaurants)Good value for money and friendly security guards.
Close to jubilee campus, good for the money and the staff were always helpful.
As a student Nurse living in Raleigh Park, I found that living here was very convenient and I was very happy to live here. I’m in a flat and blocks with all other nurses which is helpful when on placement as people are more conscious with night shifts. Every time something broke, I was able to email and the maintenance people came quickly and efficiently sorted it. The receptionists were very helpful when I asked for a parking pass and they were very nice to me. The location is really good with the Lidl opposite and it’s only a 20 minute walk to QMC which was helpful for lectures.
Raleigh park was a great place to stay during my studies! The staff were wonderful and so helpful when booking my accommodation from the very beginning! For booking early I received extra discount off my room which was amazing! Raleigh park put on great events over the year such as free ice cream, bbqs, game board nights so lots of chances to meet other students! The site had available parking for tenants which was perfect for when I was spending time on placement! The accommodation was close to the city centre which made it great for shopping and nights out! Can literally see Jubilee campus from my kitchen window such a short walk to campus !
Tragic!!!! avoid this place if you can 1. there’s no cleaners!!?? 2 we have really strict weekly inspections which is pethetic (they were complaining abut water stains in the shower?? ) 3 they made us to pay rent before we moved in which was before student loan payment (sorry that I don’t have spare 2k) 4. maintenance is s*** if something is not working u better get used to it
NO Cleaners when selecting this place I had read that there were cleaners. But they no longer clean the communal areas or toilets. :(
Very bad experience, the staff are rude and always come to your room without permission.
The accommodation staff and the internet was good. The location is close to Lidl and other shops that are needed for students, which is a plus. However, the noise cancellation of the building was horrible and there were noise complaints about day to day noises like turning in bed, turning pages in a book, rustling plastic bags, cutlery on plates, opening and closing doors, flushing toilets, low murmured talking/whispering, and opening and closing cupboards - pretty much meant you had to live in silence to not disturb others.
Stay here if you're only looking for the bare minimum...Rooms are what you'll expect for an old uni accommodation. Management only cares about how they can cut costs. Flat barely got cleaned because of the pandemic and when they started cleaning again, they issued us with reduced cleaning requirements. It would be better if they actually cared about their tenants. You'll probably get minimum social experience here if your flatmates aren't that sociable. I recommend forking out a few more pounds and staying at a better accommodation.
It is one of the cheapest accommodations in Nottingham so you definitely get what you pay for. It’s not super social especially with the pandemic. If you have a lot of face to face on uni park i’d recommend paying a bit more for broadgate to be closer or consider catered halls as I have to dedicate 40/50 mins walking to humanities. The staff are kind however there is definitely a delay and cleaning has been non-existent. It is definitely one of those places where you shouldn’t expect too much when you are paying quite a low fee in comparison to other places, but for people on bottom loan but not getting much other financial support this is the place for you!
If you are a prospective student, please DO NOT go here. I wish I could give zero stars. The staff are very rude, they have left massive piles of rubbish outside of the accommodation for days and they will refuse to give you your rent back, even though you cannot return to the accommodation due to a lockdown.
The apply for the accommodation is simple.I can apply it by personal computer.
Compliment to Raleigh Park Scheme & Contracts Manager Tony Lewis (and his team) who has been providing a great customer service throughout this difficult Covid-19 period. Tony and his team I'm sure have had to deal with a lot of frustrated and angry students and parents who had to pay full rents from March to July. We felt that way too towards the landlord (and still do). However having Tony as a 'go between' helped smooth things over and the most important thing was his speedy responses to queries/problems and resolving them. Every landlord needs 'A Tony Lewis' !
It would be better if RP can open to new international students a few days earlier who have booked their rooms in new semester. That would be helpful for these students have enough time to handle contingency which may be caused the pandemic, such as checking health condition in airports following different policy from different countries. Sometimes this process may take several minites or even a couple of days.
Absolutely terrible experience, flat was dirty when I moved in, it took the staff 6 months to replace the sofas which were broken upon arrival and Derwent Students have been exceedingly uncompassionate during COVID-19 and are demanding full rent payments, bills and utilities included whilst students are at home.
I the position of RP very much, and it is also very cheap.
So we are in the middle of a pandemic (CoronaVirus). The government as to leave uni halls and get back home ASAP. Which is what I and my friends have done. In the event of this University accommodation's and student accommodations across the country have decided to terminate contracts with the students. As there is no point in paying for something when you are using it. In Nottingham a lot of student accommodation have terminated their contracts with the students that have left their halls. Which is good. Raleigh Park still expect us to pay the full rent even though my friends and I won't be there utilising their facilities. I believe this is unfair as a lot of other student commendation in Nottingham are terminating their contracts, whereas we still have to pay. They don't care for us, otherwise the contracts would had been terminated immediately.
Struggling to get a useful response on a rebate for my final term rent. Due to COVID-19 all other students on and off campus both university and privately run have been given refunds. Raleigh Park seems to be very slow on this.
Pretty good value for money, I have a standard+ (standard room but with a 3/4 bed) and that costs ~£110/week including bills. Location is good to get into town and near two supermarkets - great for Jubilee campus but University Park is a bit of a trek. Management are incredibly slow to respond to any queries, and once woke everybody up at 06:00 on a Sunday morning for a fire drill then issued no apology when everyone complained. They also require lots of access, probably more than once a week on average, for some sort of testing or inspection. They could be much more friendly and considerate, Cleaning is fortnightly, which in a flat of 6, is pretty much useless. The cleaners are rubbish at cleaning, and shout at each other whenever they come. Social spaces are good, but aren't really used by many. This is probably because the social life is the saving grace of these halls, so people socialise in their block. The WiFi was recently upgraded, but it drops out frequently.
Raleigh park is a horrible accommodation and during this crisis (covid-19) we still have to pay rent where as St. Peter’s court took it in too consideration and allowed people who don’t stay on site not to pay rent? Don’t choose Raleigh they aren’t thoughtful to any individual and don’t care about anything in all honesty st Peters is much better so I’d suggest you do that accommodation as I regret Raleigh park
Thank you to Tony Lewis and the maintenance team for swift response to issues in the flat at the Farthings
Thank you to Tony Lewis and the maintenance team for swift response to issues in the flat at the Farthings
007D the farthings will stay on site
The service is so nice and intimate. Thanks for all the questions that have been solved for me!
The cleaners don’t do a very good job. The WiFi cuts out. Reception staff can be really rude at times. Security are lovely though.
Well priced halls. Some minor issues with washing machines however they've recently installed new ones
Was put with international students who never socialised
If you like a loud party atmosphere, this is the place
Loved my time in Raleigh! If you a business student it is just a perfect location!
Worst experience of my life, living here. Laundry machines broke down every time I used them. Housemates were an absolute nightmare. I thought living in postgrad halls would be quieter and cleaner, but no. Most of them didn't bother cleaning up once, one guy acted like he owned the whole kitchen. He used the curtains and his gym clothes as dish cloths and listened to misogynistic podcasts so loud in the kitchen I could hear it from my room, which was furthest away from the kitchen. He also threatened me. When I mentioned this all to Raleigh Park staff, I was told to either call the police or welfare as they 'couldn't do anything' about the fact that my housemate had just threatened me [I have anxiety so this was a pretty big deal]. Welfare hours listed were wrong and they didn't answer the phone. Was forced to go back to my flat without any help or suggestions on what to do for the 5 hours until Welfare were available. Nothing was done about him, despite three housemates complaining.
Great value for money and the best option for self catered due to close proximity with the city! A great deal less sociable than catered halls on campus.
Raleigh Park is a very good place for student accommodation, The scheme manager, Tony, was very helpful and the staff are really welcoming also they are very transparent with policies and procedures. The site is quite big and they have great social events. I would recommend this place to many students looking for self catering accommodation.
Raleigh park is in Lenton so you will be closer to town and most 2nd and 3rd years live around this part of nottingham to. Most people live on campus so be prepared to make the 20 to 40 minute walk to see your friends in their campus halls. There is a much more chilled vibe in Raleigh than other halls, most people keep themselves within their flats and houses so maybe not for you if your super social (you'll meet far more people in campus halls). However if you want to keep your stuff in your room over semester breaks and want the indepence of selfcatering, Raleigh park might be for you!
Amazing halls. Best choice I made. Wonderful social areas and staff
Good halls and very good value for management but maintenance and cleaners are unreliable.
AMAZING! one of the cheapest accommodation but it is in such good standards! It allows you to save up some money while meeting a lotttt of lovely people! So close to Jubilee Campus and city centre!
Awful response to complaints or any problem faced. Rude receptionist.
Awful resident tutors, awful managements, if you're having trouble not helpful at all. very hostile environment in my flat and I felt like I couldn't use the kitchen at all. No help in resolving. big hierarchy management. students are at the bottom.
I was not impressed with this place since the day I moved in my ensuite for my Postgrad studies. It's quite "old fashioned". The bad: 1) the carpet in the room is horrible 2) very little sound proof. My room was towards the train tracks and I can always hear the trains go by. I can hear everything happening upstairs as well 3) room doors close really loudly (good luck if your flatmate has 9am lessons) 4) difficult as hell to get the right temperature for the shower (either too hot or too cold) 5) really bad internet (wifi). My phone constantly disconnected from the wifi. And good luck playing LoL without an ethernet cable 6) my sink constantly didn't have hot water. The water heater always broke 7) expensive rent for what it was worth 8) poor shower drain 9) minimal space to prep food in the kitchen 10) reception doesn't accept mail The good: 1) spacious room 2) large kitchen with two regular sized fridges 3) fortnight cleaners 4) minimal fire alarm testing
Very bad Accomodation, for the price you pay and what you get it's shocking, plus you need to pay for parking as extra, even though the car park is mostly empty, cleaning is fortnightly and if you live with degenerates who pee everywhere and leave their dishes everywhere, it gets disgusting...
The internet is just plain awful, doesn't work most of the time and even when it does its very slow. The cleaners do an average job, in general seems clean but I question whether areas like door handles and the flush on toilets are ever done (I only mention this because I am pretty sure I can see some sort of bacteria/fungi growing). The overall layout of the room is super basic, the carpet is that horrible blue hard-wearing sandpaper you get and there isnt really enough wardrobe space. They check the fire alarms every so often but dont ever give you prior warning and because it is so sporadic you never really know if its a real alarm or not (the boy who cried wolf comes to mind). Most of the staff are pleasant enough, although one individual who works on reception is always pretty moody and never seems bothered about much. The laundry is heavily overpriced and the machines are not terribly reliable. I have used the driers before and even though they last an hour my laundry was damp.
Far away from everything. Plain. Basic. Practical. No character
Not a bad place to live! Reasonable rent, accommodating staff and the rooms are pretty large for what you pay. A bit dated though.
The staff have been really good to me over the duration of my stay and tge location makes it ideal for students.
So close to town and love that there's so many shops nearby!
its a really good location with lidl just across the road!
Nice place to be - close to uni park (30mins walk) as well as jubilee (10mins)! It is a blessing having the bus stop in front of the building! Plus Lidl, domino, starbucks and more are literally 2mins from you!
The facility are very considerable. Especially when I have trouble to use them ,there will always be someone to help me.
My friend recommended RP for me, now I'm so grateful I choose it .its a very suitable place for me to live and very near to my school.
Love the fact that it is so close to all that I need whether it's going to classes or going shopping
Best value for money and good accomodation for first years
Raleigh Park has been very hospitable to me and my peers. Large kitchens, sofas, consistent wifi and a ball court etc
Great service and awesome communal area
The house is very big and nice, I like the kitchen area and the fact that we have a living room.
Great service and good social area, would recommend this to anyone x

Good and safe place to live! Would definitely recommend Raliegh Park
Great sized rooms, kitchens are good size with sofas for living space as well. Good gocial area.
Great place to live. Lots of friendly people and lots of events to meet new people. Only negative that I can think of is that it's a 15 minute walk from the jubilee campus.

Bets place to live for Uni of Nottingham students!
A nice distance between the university of nottingham and the town, very easy to catch a bus to the city centre and very close to lidl for cheap student shopping

I have really enjoyed staying at raleigh park, I love how close it is to lidl. The only thing I would say is that it is much closer to jubilee campus than the uni park campus.

Raleigh Park is a great place to stay as people are friendly and helpful.
Ideally situated between the city centre and university park, makes going out and going to uni easy
Great experience, great people, great accommodation. The rooms come equipped with everything you need to start uni life. Would recommend.
I'm loving my time at Raleigh park! Everyone is very helpful and friendly

Love living here, lovely atmosphere and good security, staff always on hand to help out with maintainance issues, would definitely recommend to others!
Perfect area and definetly the place to be in first year
The location of Raleigh Park is the best for student studying in Jubilee Campus as it only requires 10mins of walk to campus and 5 mins of walk to Lidl (department stores). Housemates were well allocated and management response quickly to maintenance issues. Cleaner only cleans common area such as toilet and kitchen once every fortnight. If it can be done more frequent, then it will be a plus point!

Raleigh Park is an amazing place to stay when you are a fresher at a university. Because of the large capacity, it's easy to make friends, meet new people and find your feet. The mixture between living with boys and girls also means you can find that special someone a lot quicker. P.S There is a hidden rivalry with St Peters Court so make sure your not fraternising with the enemy or we will find you!
Great place to live in and also reasonably priced. Really good location too as it's really close to jubilee and not too far from the city. There's also almost everything you need around.
Raleight park has one of the best values for money
Ralegih park is reasonably priced and located at convinient area, just all you need
Nice to live, lots of freedom and not very far to everything you need.
Location is very nice, only issue is wifi is very spotty
It's been decent. Everything has been decent. Area has been decent. Decent.
Very good and clean halls. Also pretty good for older students
I love my block, and I am having a great time at Raleigh park
Nice hall in a good location, met great people here.
I'm really enjoying living at Raleigh park so far! The rooms and kitchen spaces are some of the nicest I've seen and there are regular socials events to go to!

Good price for the accomodation, good size kitchen with a dining table and sofas. Rooms are a decent size with a bookshelf, table, bed and wardrobe included. Perfect location for people studying at jubilee campus, 2mins away from food stores like subway and greggs and bus stop to the main city are just outside the accomodation. Lidl 2mins away as well. Repairs are dealt with smoothly if you have any in your flat. Cleaner doesn't clean bedroom
They take much time in responding to problems like maintenance.
The location is great, you can get everything nearby and it's less than 10minutes walk to jubilee campus.
Had one of my best years here and the staff were very helpful and the spacing of the rooms was sufficient. Good value for money
There is a grocery store, food options, and bus stops to the city centre and campus right across the street. The flats are equipped with everything you need to live comfortably!
Rooms are very spacious and the beds are so comfy! Kitchens are really functional and there is plenty of storage space (fridge, freezer and cupboards). Only issue is the cleaners come very early, are very loud and don't do a very good job (I often see them sitting on the sofa with their feet up!!) other than that it is a great place to stay
Out of all the student accommodation I looked round, I think Raleigh park was one of the best simply because each flat has a decent sized living area compared to lots which just had a kitchen with no sofas. Opposite Lidl which is really handy and about a 25 minute walk to the uni
Nice place to stay, would recommend it to friends
I am living in the farthings now.It is very close to Jubilee campus of university of nottingham. The repairman is very kind and effective.Good choice!
Such a nice place to live in....very quiet which is a plus for a PhD student like me....a clean common kitchen and a very spacious bedroom...close to city centre and univesirty as well
Its worth staying in Rayleigh Park!
Such a nice place to live in...very quiet spacious room, clean kitchen with lots of facilities, close to uni and city centre and gym also...worth it really
A very nice place to live in...close to univ and city centre...It's very quiet so I sometimes stay home and read as am a postgraduate so that's helpful...friendly flatmates and spacious rooms...worth it
Raleigh Park is great value student accommodation with easy access to the uni and close to town. Staff are lovely and friendly however are slow with sorting out maintainance repairs. Overall really good place to live!
The location and the area is really nice, with a lidl right outside which is so convenient
Raleigh park is great for students, it is clean and modern and has all the adequate needs. Very large kitchens and bedrooms and very good value for money.
It's been a really good experience and it really helped me making friends! It's a good way to socialise with people, and the transport links are great!
So far; Residing at Raleigh park has been a good experience. As a student of University of Nottingham, it's conveniently placed for me to attend my lectures and back. My room and bathroom are in good shape. Thank you.
Its a nice and peaceful environment. I got good flat mates so very good. The facilitator are clean too.
The location is nice. It is close to the city center and the Jubilee campus. Rent is a bit on the high side. Staff is friendly.
Great accomadation! Perfect location for amenities! Friendly staff and cleaners
Location is fab for my course (QMC). Friendly staff who are always here to help. Security is great.
The location is perfect for my course, friendly staff, very homely place.
A certainly greatful living experience in Raleigh Park with 3 nice roommates
I have lived here for two years now I have felt very safe and secure. Wifi is fast and location is great for nursing students!
Based closely to both University of Nottingham and Nottingham town centre, Raleigh Park offers safe, comfortable and effortless accommodation option for students.
Everything broke, holes in the wall
An overall alright experience, did not spend much time within my accommodation due to my course structure. I however thoroughly had a decent stay, nothing special but then again you get what you pay for. Laundry service was a decent price, proximity to Nottingham Uni campuses was quite close although it varies from campus to campus. Raleigh park is very close to the city centre which was a bonus. Social engagement activities are limited but then again I never attended to many of them.
Always something going on, super relaxed security guards, not the nicest interiors, a bit flimsy and the cleaners are very loud in the mornings, but socially its awesome
Not bad, bit of a trek from uni park but the kitchen has a nice layout and the addition of sofas makes it much more sociable within the flat, would recommend to others
Yeah it's pretty good. Came back for final year.
Had a fun experience so far, facilities have got better over the year, We have an outside gym now, common room is good only down side is laundry but who cares?!
Internet often poor, largely good accommodation especially for the cost.
Great accommodation but slow to fix any problems such as broken oven and light in toilet. Closer to city which is handy but good 20 minute walk.
Between the terrible wifi and the almost constant drunk shrieking outside, it's a bit s*** really. But I guess the Lidl across the road and the treasure that is White Horse Cafe almost make up for it. Almost.
The flats vary, but mine was modern and fresh. There is poor organisation, and some items are cheap e.g. the hoover is crap & the ironing board. I would live here again, it is close to town. But a 35min walk to uni park.
Raleigh is pretty good, the kitchens are large and you get (rubbish) sofas! The cleaners don't really clean much, even in our very tidy flat.
not too shabby, just a little far from my faculty buildings
Closer to the city than the on-campus halls, but not too far from campus to be a problem. Well kept and clean, and problems are generally dealt with fairly quickly (not always that effectively) and the flats and rooms are decent quality with plenty of space. There seems to be a lack of social cohesion or encouragement to socialise unless you live in Sillitoe Court, and also, living at Raleigh Park (off-campus) it can sometimes feel like you are somewhat excluded from many of the social aspects of the university, which is a bit s***. In general, can't complain though.
terrible internet access. Only 1 security guard for 1200 people and it's in a relatively run down area. Quite a few break ins and thefts. Cleaners were not great and we were changed £10 for each bag we didn't put in the bin. Kept us tidy but very expensive if you forgot
Basic hall of residence, common room available but not well used
Horrific laundry prices but otherwise good. Can be noisy if facing the court, walls are thin and a bit of a trek to uni park. However, good student experience, though living so close to postgrads means a lot of noise complaints.
