The staff in Marybone should be promoted! Or at least get a a raise. I had problems with an agency and I was supposed to be moving out of Marybone to go live in a different place but there were lots of problems with the agency and I couldn’t get the room and Marybone staff especially Clare were Amazing! They helped me as much as possible and they extended my stay for a short period even though they were fully booked to help me sort out my situation. That is truly incredible and if the administration of sanctuary students is ready this GIVE MARYBONE STAFF A PROMOTION OR RAISE! They deserve it. Aside from this story Marybone is such a nice and cheap place to live in and it’s in the heart of Liverpool making it accessible to many attractions and campuses. So I recommend it 100%

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Thank you for your lovely review, I have passed this on to the team :)
I really loved my stay in Marybone as it was very easy to reach to all the place,( city centre, queens square bus station and moorfields station)
Thank you for your review :)
My accommodation was perfect due to it being a 5 minute walk to university each day and opposite the library it made things much easier for me. Also the fact that it is already in city centre was great as a 10 minute walk didn’t even feel that long when walking to town.
Thank you
Only issue with marybone one is in three of the blocks is accessed by stairs only and the lifts in the blocks also tend to be broke for days at a time
We are sorry to here about these issues, we will continue to work hard to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Great so far , hope it stays like this or gets better.
Thanks for your review
i have applied for the marybone student accommodation and from that moment to till i come to the accommodation, an agent helped me and guided throughout the process. in accommodation area, they have ideally made flats and reception is providing valuable information about everything and lecture hall and ground floor recreation areas are very useful for social with others.
It’s very good. Close to library, close to shopping centre, parks, docks, university and close to the train station
I like the accommodation, its a little far from my classes but its still a good location
Great! thank you for your review
It has been a very good experience, from part 2 months. All staff members are very good and addresses the problems very well
It’s not bad, But it could be a lot better. Especially with some of the staffs.
It is a cheap rent so it isn’t anything special. I wish I could afford an en-suite because my roommates are disgusting but that isn’t the accommodation’s fault. There is a free gym but some equipment is broken. There is a lot of construction work happening so there is a lot of noise when I’m trying to study. The staff do what they can for other disturbances and help when you ask
Love the social rooms in Marybone 1, and the feeling of being surrounded by fellow students and international student all wanting to get to know people. I like that the gym is across the road, wouldn’t be working out if not!
Accommodation is value for money. Accessible to all near by city Centre locations. Can be more neat and clean .
Good affordable accommodation in the city centre. I like it here, I have no problems. Can be loud from others partying though.
I am having great experience so far.
My experience so far in this accommodation has been a pleasant one. I do really enjoy my stay, and moreover everyone including the staffs and tenants are so welcoming. Kudos to the Management!
So far I am really enjoying my stay at Marybone. I got lucky with my flatmates and we all get along and do regular activities together. The facilities here are amazing considering how much I am paying. That and how close we are to everything from big shops, the town center and my uni is just a 5 minute walk away! I would definitely recommend to friends.
The Best Accommodation deal in Liverpool I can say
not bad for 85p for a week good social environment
It’s been liveable but had some issues
They can be alot better..........
Its a nice place but sometimes there's noise at night and also there should be more social events and feasts.
Really good flat and room although walls and windows can be thin which means can be woken up at 4-5 from people coming back or in courtyard
I’ve been in marybone for 3 years now, staff are so welcoming and make you feel at home, they are prompt to sort any issues that may occur, Gillian the receptionist is like my second mother, I can always go to her for anything at all, the rest of the girls are lovely too, always have a good chat and get to know you, marybone is a good community to live in and very well priced for what you get! I would highly recommend!!
As an international student it was hard for me to adapt to the change. But Marybone was quickly adaptable and worthy of change. The social experience I gained here is so valuable. I would definitely recommend Marybone to any one because it is situated so close to city centre and its cheaper and clean. Maintenance and routine safety checks makes it so comfortable to stay in.

The location was close to universities, transportation links, and popular student areas. The proximity to amenities and campus greatly influences students' satisfaction. Common features include study areas, communal spaces, laundry facilities, 24/7 security, and high-speed internet access are like the cherry on top. Moreover, they provide well-furnished rooms with comfortable beds, study desks, and ample storage space. The staffs were helpful and friendly, and also provided prompt maintenance services,

Marybone 1 was definitely the perfect 1st year accommodation for me - it was cheap and close to my university and had plenty of amenities for its residents.

It’s going to be my 3rd year staying at Marybone next year, it’s so close to my university, walking distance to the shops , close to bus stops and train station. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
Hi, thanks for your lovely feedback! We're so glad that you have chosen to stay with us throughout your entire time at university and it's nice to know that you have enjoyed your time living with us! I will pass your comments onto the staff. Marybone Student Village
Nice rooms, nice beds, and overall nice place. The walls are extremely thin and doors slam very loudly. Building works for almost a full year right opposite my (and about 100 other students) rooms, with some days being almost unbearable to live in and no support from the staff, or discounts for the disruption. Most staff members are lovely, but one can be standoffish.
Hi, thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, the building works were essential and unavoidable. We did everything we could to minimise disruption, such as ensuring the works only took place between 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday, which did result in very minimal complaints from residents. However, I am glad that most of your time at Marybone was good and will pass your feedback onto the team. Thanks
I had a great time staying at this accommodation. The staff was amazing and the place is safe and secure. As an international student it was affordable and had all the amenities nearby.
Hi, thank you for your lovely review! I am glad that you enjoyed your time living with us and that you were so happy with the staff. We work very hard to make sure everyone here is safe and happy so I will be sure to pass your lovely comments onto the team! Marybone Student Village

Having lived here for nearly 2 years and planning to stay here next year, I have had an amazing experience. Staff are AMAZING at making you feel safe and listened to, there is security during the night and always someone around to help you with anything. The location is amazing, right by John Moores so it suits me, close to the Docks where you can go for a walk and the staff organise multiple social activities and events throughout the year. (They also give you freebies) I'm glad I choose marybone.
Hi, thank you for your lovely comments! We are so glad that you have enjoyed your time living with us and love that you are rebooking to stay with us again! I will make sure to pass this onto the whole team as we all work hard to make sure that everyone living with us is happy and safe. Marybone Student Village

Everything you see in this package is a total lie. Being a 1st year student in MB1 I haven’t had any access to the gyms and common rooms, this is apparently because their not actually in the tenancy agreement so they don’t have to be open to residents of MB1. The WiFi barely works and is always cutting out. My room stunk of weed when I first moved in, and we had to ask for bins, microwave, toaster, mop and hoover. Even the lift didn’t work on the first day of moving in. The windows have never been cleaned and the safety bar in our own flat is hanging on by a thread. Reception staff are generally nice but most of the caretakers come across as very passive aggressive. Despite expecting low standards and only having to pay £80 a week I still somehow feel like I’ve had the worse end of the deal.
Unfortunately due to covid restrictions we where unable to have the gym or common rooms open in 2020/21 however they are now all open as normal. The wifi has been upgraded. Windows are cleaned every summer and the rooms are deep cleaned.
It is an ongoing joke between students that nothing here works.. i actually get surprised when something does. Staff are unhelpful. The only accommodation in Liverpool that kept students paying full price rent during corona virus. 800 students moved out of Marybone and were charged thousands of pounds. Only care about profits
Thank you for your review. If you have any Maintenace issues in your flat please pop down to reception and someone will be happy to help you. Marybone remained open for all students during 2020.
For the cheapest available accommodation in Liverpool I wasn’t expecting much. However I have been proven wrong. The location is perfect , especially for studying at Byrom street. The library is next door literally. It’s only a short 10 minute walk to lime street and to town. The flats are just what you need and are clean it’s up to you to keep it that way. The rooms have everything you need and I really love mine. I love the fact there is always security behind reception to you always feel safe. Everyone at marybone is so lovely and we all have so much fun! I would 1000% come back to marybone again.
Thank you for your review am glad you enjoyed your time at Marybone
For what you pay, this is excellent. There are some issues, but none too bad. Because it's so cheap, there will probably be things in the room that break. But in my experience they have been small things, and maintenance is over the next day at latest even when it's not an emergency. Staff are friendly and understanding. From the group chat and stories of previous years from hallmates, things can be loud and there are lots of parties, but for me it has been mostly fine. There are also nice gestures like tea in the reception which are nice to see. My only issues are that there is no way to opt out of certain emails but not others, so you get some unnecessary ones, and the inspection weeks are unreliable at best. Twice so far they have been delayed without prior notice, and once they didn't even come in the delayed time they told us.
Thank you for your review. I hope you enjoyed your stay. Sometimes inspections are delayed due to staff absence/illness or emergencies onsite, we will always inform you if you inspection is due to be delayed.
At any point during the night, you will hear a rendition of Robbie Williams Angels.
If you do happen to hear Angles by Robbie Williams or any other cheesy songs at an anti social hour you are welcome to call security. I hope you enjoyed your stay
Value for money : Cheap, get what you pay for. Location : Right next to every other hall Cleaning : What cleaning? Maintenance: My shared shower was broken from day one and after multiple attempts at getting it fixed I gave up and it was left broken. In addition to that the front entrance to reception was broken Heating : I hope you like being cold because heaters which turn themselves off when they get too warm are what you are going to have (and remember the temperature of the heater does not mean the room is warm). the heaters are also placed directly below an enormous window which counteracts any warmth they produce. Enjoy freezing your ass off in the winter. Common room / Social spaces : Are you joking? I have at least a thousand spam emails from Marybone, about running club which I can't block without blocking other vital communications from them. Internet is fast but too much down time, also they hijack browser requests redirecting you to their website
Great place to live, however I live in Marybone 3 and I'm a nurse with having to get up for placements early in the morning, people that live in Marybone 2 are up at all hours with loud music and screaming. Also I live above the gym and constantly hearing th treadmill banging is very frustrating especially when it's at 10pm and you have placement at 5am the next day.
For the money I have paid, I would easily live here for second year, but I'd prefer my own bathroom so I think I'll stay in another halls, maybe even Marybone 2
Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Great value for money and great fun!
We are glad you enjoyed your experience at Marybone.
I didn't have the bests of times here, and was actually at least a half an hour walk away from the library I was in need of and from lectures. Wouldn't recommend it for anyone doing drama or anything arts based
Expensive for bare basics. Really good location for the city centre (you're in it). Everything breaks a lot. Walls, floors, ceilings are extremely thin. Lifts break a lot. It's a bit depressing.
Cheap and cheeful. Can be really loud. Needs refurbishment but otherwise good.
