Best accomodation for money, recent building works is super noisy however before that it was quiet and green, so hopefully will return to that. The size of the desks in the room is fantastic, kitchen is pretty cramped. Laundry is 1 minute walk away. 15 minute walk from centre of uni, comp sci building, some science building and teaching and learning building/library depending on what route you choose to get to each. No shops close by. Sainsburys, Aldi and Tescos are 25 minute walk and bus routes aren't really worth it for getting there. There's a Spars in uni centre and a handful of shops (Tesco, Boots, Waitrose etc) in Harborne (15/20 minute walk away.) However, Tesco does deliver to Pritchatts Park so most flats end up doing a group tesco order.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

About 10 mins from uni translation and medical school. Location was a bless especially when I had 2 hour gaps in my timetable. However, its 20 mins from Aldi. Harborne is closer to shop at but I can never find the right stuff. Not too quiet, not too loud. Had pretty clean flatmates but thats because I chose all girls. There's no cleaners unlike what you would get if you lived in Oakley or Prichatts.. but the service team still unblock the showers for you. Not having cleaners is really not that bad unless you have awful flatmates. There are 2 showers which are pretty new, useful for a flat of 6. Room size is avg. (I've been to Shackleton, mason, liberty court, lib park, Pritchatts house and Oakley - room sizes are essentially the same.) Would deffo recommend, don't waste your money. Ooh but the wifi goes down :|
Best accomodation at uob, one of the lowest priced too. Great value.
Ashcroft is brilliant, flats are so modern and it is so close to uni, unlike properties on the vale where it can be a 20 to 30 minute walk to get to uni. While it seems quieter, everyone is just as lively as up on the vale, and not living on the vale is not an issue with Tennis Courts only being around 10 minutes walk away, and the Duck (the student pub on the vale) only being 15 mins away. There is no flat cleaners or anything, but the halls, common areas and outside are always kept very clean by the staff. The only let down is Leo's, which while it is a nice enough space, isn't run very well. However, if you want a quick drink it is literally a 30 second walk from the flats. Normally, we drink at Joe's or the Duck, or go down into Selly. In my opinion ashcroft is pretty perfect and so cheap for what you receive.
I honestly don't know why it isn't more expensive/popular. It's only a 10 minute walk from the campus and just opposite the med school. The rooms are really big for the price and the flats have just been renovated meaning they have new bathrooms and kitchens. It's generally a lot quieter than other accommodations which is fine, it's much better to walk 10 minutes to a party than be kept up till 3am when you've got a 9am lecture. You can always find people who are willing to go out, or stay in as there's a good mix of both. You're also only a 15 minute walk from Harborne which was plenty of shops and such which make the self-catered bit really simply. The central Bar Leo's isn't fantastic however, nothing really much goes on. We complained when our extractor fan was broken and it wasn't fixed so we did it ourselves. Overall really good if you want somewhere with a good mix of people that's close to campus and really good value for money.
Definitely the best you will get for under £100 if that is your budget. Fairly quiet and not too far a walk to the main campus. Brilliant for medics or for people who aren't quite the 24/7 partiers, which there are by the way for those who do chose the partying life, just not too many of them in Ashcroft. Very nice to have 2 toilets and 2 showers between 6 as it means you hardly ever have to wait.
Great place to live for first year, so convenient for the shops, University station and campus.
Great value for money as recently refurbished. Small kitchens though and not the most social outside of base friendship groups.
Good for med students as close to Mrs school. Wifi really bad in places. Good value for money
Really good for cheap housing, comfortable and not too small, people are generally nice too
I absolutely love my flatmates they are lovely. I have found at Ashcroft that if you want to go out clubbing you will be able to find someone in your flat or at least your block who's up for it, but there are also many chilled out people who are always up for a night in. Pritchatt's park is so much closer to campus and med school than the Vale and that is so useful! It only takes 10 minutes to walk to campus (a 7 minute powerwalk to medical school/edge of campus). At the end of the day it's the people who make your accommodation what it is and you don't know what the people will be like until you arrive so don't stress over picking too much. Sharing a bathroom has not been a problem for me but I'm sure I wouldn't turn down the luxury of an en suite if I could afford that.
Nicely refurbished but incomplete when we arrived, reception not open on weekends and no cleaning service included in fee although it is reasonably priced.
