I really like living here. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and Monique is amazing and does lots of events for us. Phil always makes me laugh. The other residents that I've spoken to have all been really nice, and there is a good mixture of different universities and subjects. Also, I am a BCU HELS student so it's only a 5 minute walk to my campus. I have rebooked to stay here next year and I expect I will stay for the rest of my course. :)

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Living at B16 Studios has been an amazing experience, however, paying £155 per week is a little too much as the room I’m currently living in has a lot of damage, there are no windows and is only a little air vent, the amount of noise and arguments that occurs at 1am is insane and the security guards fail to ensure that the situation is taken care of. The kitchen way different shown in the photos and are too small which makes it hard for me to cook anything. Being a first year uni student, I would recommend checking your accommodation by having a visit for the first time

One star is even a lot, this place is the worst experience in my whole academic journey, i have sent a lot of email regarding the lift maintenance, i have been here for 2 months now and they did nothing to fix it. Sometimes i have to carry very heavy stuff from ground floor to the fifth floor that i live in. Because of the lift, I can’t keep doing things that i used to do during any normal day as it takes too much efforts. NOTE: the lift maintenance is getting ON MY NERVES. Overall: I COULD NEVER RENT AGAIN HERE.
I decided to move to the dormitory 2 months after the semester started. I tried to contact but emails are not answered. I had trouble communicating. I went to the dormitory a few times to communicate. but either I could not find the staff on site or they were not helpful at all. I asked for an offer, but they started the contract date on the day they sent me the contract. Of course, you cannot move in the same day, you have to complete the documents. When I finished the documents and said that I wanted to move, they said I couldn't move right away, I was already paying for the room. They don't return emails except for money matters.
Very friendly staff. More than welcoming. Perfect location. Katie and Phill are very helpful, especially for students new to the area. Facilities make the value for money amazing. Gym and study room are my most used facilities. Anything you need, they are very accommodating.
Aggravated trespass (criminal offense), vigilante gang present and ready to fight and police involvement, please read before you book. It is in B16s nature to dispute all problems no matter how major and shift blame. They removed people from the group chat who were leaving negative reviews including a law student whom was helping us with our rights (they have stopped now). There is truth in the negative reviews. I find it hard to deal with B16 and I feel gaslit into believing the problems are not their issue and I am in the wrong There was an instance between the 27/11/2021 and 12/12/2021 where the hot water stopped. It was out shortly for all, but the first floor had to endure 17 working days without it. Repairs should have legally been made within 24 hours. I asked for legalcompensation but they declined on the basis they made other arrangement and while this was true, this was only the case while staff were on site which was impractical for a lot of us. Hot water has gone off many t
Lovely place to stay! Both Maggie and Sam have made me feel very welcome coming here, so friendly and kind. The rooms are lovely and spacious, the value for money is the best I could find around. For a studio room with small kitchen and en-suite you won’t beat the price. I love it here, it’s my home away from home. The staff and management really try to go above and beyond! I’m staying here another year and I’ve even recommended my friend move in. Thank you b16 studios for making me feel comfortable and confident in my new home.
Terrible accomodation. The elevator has not been working for months now. Gym equipment broken for about 4 months. The management don’t seem to care or listen to what the students want.
I don't wish to anyone to experience what this place can offer. From lies and excuses, to room issues that will never get looked in to. No one will even look interested in your problems till you don't leave a bad review. Than they will make a list with all the problems again and ask you what they can give you so you take back the bad review. For how much they charged and what they offer.. for the sake of God, do not choose this place. If you don't believe it. Come live here 1 month.
I have lived here for about 10 months. The place was good, well managed by Maggie and Helen till Helen left in mid-October, and everything fell apart. The new management doesn’t seem to know how to handle issues. The lift has been broken for over 2 weeks, with no date in sight for fixing. Having to go up 5 floors each time you have need to be on the ground floor? 🥺 An apartment this big has got just one functional washing machine! The hot water keeps going on and off, last time it was off, it lasted some 10 days to be fixed. The only three mill in the gym has been broken for months now, no talks of fixing it. The only thing they have got going for them is the internet. For an Accomodation this pricey, it’s not worth it.
Very homely accomadation where you can be independent. High security meaning you feel safe as there are multiple secured doors before getting to your room. Cluster kitchens are very spacious and there is a lot of storage for your utensils.
Maggie is so lovely and makes the whole place like a family😩we love her so much!💕💕💕💕
I’ve been here for two years and I’ll say it’s been a wonderful experience. Meeting new people and friendly staff. Maggie is always there to put a smile on your face in the morning and after a stressful day. The staffs at B16 are always there to chat and make you feel comfortable. Nice communal spaces and a gym to release tension.
It’s nice accommodation for University of Birmingham and Birmingham city uni students. Nice location, nice people. You can enjoy Birmingham life
Great place to stay for my final year, staff are very friendly, especially Maggie! Which I often find myself spending extended periods of time in the reception just having chats with, really goes out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed!
B16 has been a very good experience and i’ve made a lot of friends, the building is very sociable and especially management who make sure you are good all the time. I would recommend living here.
Maggie is the best receptionist, always dealing with my issues.
Very comfortable. Maggie is very welcoming, super friendly, helpful with whatever I need AND she keeps the place spotless. The rest of the team are lovely too. A home away from home. It's wonderfully close to the city centre and we even have a group chat for the whole building so we have a great community amongst the students living here.
Great place to live , friendly staff and people , clean communal spaces and also alot of great facilities to use. Great value for money highly recommend staying here
If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that B16studios is the best accommodation I have stayed at. Everyone is very friendly there and the receptionists are absolute legends 🤩. My only regret is that I didnt stay longer.
All I can say is WOW. Lived her for the year and it was unbelievable! Helen and Maggie are absolute stars, made me feel so welcome. Room was a very good size, clean as a whistle when I arrived. Wifi was stupendous, never had any trouble. Location was excellent with my campus a 5 minute walk away, along with a Morrisons down the road. If you’re thinking of going anywhere else, stop looking because you’ve found the best place. Gym was brilliant and open 24/7, The cinema room was great for movies and football and the games room was also fantastic. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer.
All single kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and makes new trees and thank you for growing my tree and let it shine. The staff members were very kind, understanding, and very clean. I had an amazing time at B16 and had a great time speaking with the staff members. They were there for me when I was going throw the worst time of my life. They are very supportive and understanding, and very motivating. Thank you for being my guidance angel and thank you for being who you are. You guys are doing amazing and keep it up. ❤️❤️
I would 100% recommend living B16 studio, the staff are so friendly and cheerful. always there to make improvements.
The staff in B16 Studios are so lovely, kind and warming they really make this place a homely environment.
I had such a fun time living here, the management, Helen and Maggie, do an amazing job at everything. I felt safe throughout my stay, and if there were any problems regarding noise from other students after 12pm, it would be resolved promptly. The facilities are kept clean and the gym and cinema were my favourite. Me and my friends would watch Netflix at the cinema together most of the Mondays, and I would work out anytime I wanted but you have to book in advance on a sheet of paper stuck on the door so the allocated time was just for you!! I had a studio plus, but the studios are really comfortable, cosy and modern with a wardrobe, toilet, shower, a kitchen, fridge, microwave, desk, drawers and a bed, all the essentials. Overall my experience was great, Maggie and Helen, were always there whenever I needed someone to talk to regarding mental health, or whenever I was home sick. I was sceptical at first when I was doing my research but this accommodation is literally the best!! :)
