Perfect budget accommodation, and made it very easy to make friends with such a big flat. The kitchen turned into our social area and was a place where we could sit and enjoy eachothers company. The staff in the building were helpful but often took a while to reply to issues. Location is absolutely perfect being a 1 minute walk away from the student union and in walking distance of the library and other university buildings.

We appreciate your feedback and are pleased you made the right choice for your university accommodation. Let us know if there is anything we can do during your stay.
The halls were great value for money, regularly cleaned, the kitchens as the social spaces did feel small and not the best place to hang out however there was plenty of events held and the wifi was fast.
That's so kind of you to leave a positive review and take time out from your busy schedule.
A really good community in Sandby, with all the people that can be met, the location is perfect for my course as it requires very little commuting. All the facilities do the job and the only downside is that a couple of the receptionists are consistently grumpy.
Good afternoon thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule we do appreciate your feedback and stive to improve the services offered.
Kitchens get cleaned weekly but are a mess for 4/5 days of the week. 14/15 people sharing a kitchen is too much. But it’s a decent price and good location
I loved my little room in sandby but some of the facilities were lacking in my opinon. We were a kitchen of 12 people and had one small sofa and 3 chairs for everyone to share and the kitchen was the only space to sit so there was no separation of spaces and it was just not big enough.
really would not recommend. the value for money is awful. there’s no locks on kitchen doors anyone can get into ur kitchen from another floor and people will steal your stuff from other floors.
Cheapest uni owned accom on campus with an en suite - but if you're not bothered about an en suite then you can get much better value for money in others. Kitchen is pretty small considering you're sharing with 10-11 others but the cleaner does come once a week. Very social and security at all times but no locks between different flats so other people can go into your kitchen and corridor. Also we found out that one of the doors leading into the accom was broken all year so anyone could come in but we didnt have any issues till later on.
I loved my time living in halls and I wouldn't have changed it!
Mold, non functional washing machines, power faults, loud central heating, shower not suitable for any tall, fire alarm goes of average 2-3 times a week, mostly in the middle of the night.
Sandby Hall is perfect if you like nightlife and socializing. Not great if you value your sleep. You have all the noise from Hampden, Byron and your own flat to deal with all night long. Almost every room grew mould at some point in the year, which staff blamed on leaving windows closed after showering - I never closed mine. The Kitchen space is awful for the amount of people, if one person doesn't wash up you lose a huge chunk of your counter space. Nothing was set up to equally divide cupboard space, it was take what you can get, which meant my cupboard was under the oven, leading to my food spoiling quicker. Same issue with the fridge and freezer space. The windows fog easily, and if you're unlucky like I was you'll have a window right next to the bed that has no curtain. The shower heads are replaced once a term by the friendly staff, and the cleaners couldn't be nicer! Night staff also lovely. Internet would drop out randomly, a simple fix is disconnecting and reconnecting.
Sandby accommodation may not seem like the best option, but it contains all the necessity's which is basically the same as byron and hampden building, but it is the best value for money. If you really like to go crazy during the whole year for the nightlife, I do suggest going to hampden, They are known to be another breed of people for it. Byron is so expensive, and we have found that they have everything the same but just a little nicer, but as a student I found that it isn't worth that extra bit of money just for accommodation. Living in sandby can seem like a lot living with 25 other people, but with 2 kitchens and the fact that not everyone is in there and cooking it won't feel like it's a lot.
Sandby is an overpriced dump but you do it for the experience and fun of living with 12 people and hell is it worth it for 1st year!!!, currently live with 4 lads all of whom i was at Sandby with in 1st year. The beds are appauling however and if you are tall (i'm 6ft 4) good luck to you fitting in the single beds let alone if you have company...... Noisy halls to be in as life is one big party here so if you are not comfortable with that then look elsewhere however you would be missing out on a unique student halls experience!!!
Great location, cheaper than surrounding but still overpriced. Very dated and cheaply furnished.
Good halls for the price but they’re nothing special.
Great halls and best place to meet a lot of people. Roughly 20 people on each floor makes it very sociable and occasionally loud (not a bad thing for most)
For people who suffer with anxiety like myself, it's not great. Too noisy but had no choice due to personal reasons.
Great people and great location. Very average sized rooms probably not worth the amount paid
great halls for socialising. big flats of 20. Good value for money aswell and located right next to uni and the city centre. well managed. not the quietest place to live due to lots of people predrinking but definitely a fun place to live.
Overpriced but so is all NTU accommodation, your paying for the experience and is well worth it. The large flats mean it's great for socialising as your bound to like someone in a flat of 13!
just one big party most socialble halls for sure as the flats are so big just like one massive family
Brilliant halls with amazing social atmosphere. Perfect for social people and for a very good price. Ground floor have totally refurbished kitchens big enough to double as a common room.
Great place to socialise as in flats of 24 however the common room and kitchen is not big enough for that many people
I did experience a fair few problems living here, but I think those problems could have been the same in any of the uni halls. Choose first or second floor of suggested! If I could go back and do it again, I would still chose Sandby. The large flats and access throughout the building allowed us to mingle a lot and access all the flats without a lock. I think this makes Sandby one of the most sociable halls and it was great fun!
The amount of space in the kitchen is far to small for so many people. The corridors have a bad smell. Security is poor it's easy for people to walk into the corridor as you only need a key for the main entrance not individual flats
