Royal Holloway University is truly incredible! The community—comprised of both staff and students—is welcoming and vibrant. The variety of societies and the student union offer something for everyone, making it easy to find your niche. The courses are well-structured, and the professors are not only knowledgeable but also supportive, friendly, and always willing to help. One of the highlights of this university is its breathtaking campus. With its royal, ancient aesthetic, the Founders Building feels like it could be straight out of a Harry Potter scene (and yes, there's even a Harry Potter society!). As an international student, I’ve felt genuinely welcomed here. The politeness and friendliness of the people around me have made it easier to cope with homesickness, and I appreciate the support network available. There are numerous opportunities to socialize, making it easy to build connections. Overall, my experience at Royal Holloway has been fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Lovely university with a really nice campus. There are loads of societies you can take part in. The career team are very helpful and there’s always stuff going on to improve employability.
Only thing I think could use improvement is the RHU bus service. It tends not to be on time.
A large selection of societies that caters to everyone. Support for those who need it whether that be mental health or careers.
There’s a lot of places to eat and socialise on campus between breaks. The clubbing on campus allows it to be safer and there’s a variety of societies to join.
Beautiful campus and excellent student experience. Professional and helpful staff, high quality of education.
A very good maintenance here at hox.
Royal Holloway is a pleasant campus University to attend if you don't mind one on the smaller side. The facilities are fine and the staff for the most part are helpful and friendly. Though security is known to be a problem, especially on nights out even if you aren't causing trouble.
Very good quality of studying and social events
This university is great, it just lacks some facilities, which is not a big problem.
Very pleasant experience definitely something new but allows you to grow and expand your personal life while balancing studying its been amazing honestly
very fast and efficient in maintenance with Jáo
Overall it’s a great uni. The su over the past three years has gotten worse or less enjoyable. With re-occurring themes happen far too often. The campus is acceptably clean and the library is nice but often overcrowded
Good uni good campus, egham is average
Great university would recommend to all international students
Lovely campus. It’s a bit out of the way to be considered a ‘University of London’ in my opinion. The surrounding area is quite boring
Royal Holloway is a beautiful and welcoming campus, combining historic architecture with modern facilities. The supportive teaching staff and diverse range of courses make it an excellent place to study. The library and study spaces are well-equipped, while the campus offers a lively student community with plenty of clubs and events. Its location in Egham is peaceful yet close to London, providing the best of both worlds. A great choice for anyone looking for a quality education and vibrant university experience!
Over my 3 year tenure I have grown and enjoyed the experience year on year helping to build my character whilst enhancing my knowledge to take further in my career
The university is good and has a lot to offer. However I do feel as though there are a lack of community spaces and things for students to do.
Royal Holloway is a good university, where you can find your own people and experience a lot of new activity
Very nice uni with everything you need
It’s a very good university and the campus is amazing. The teachers are very knowledgeable about their subject and they care for the students. The SU is really dissatisfying. They dont acknowledge not so “wanted” societies and they treat them badly. The prices are too expensive and they organize events nobody really cares about. I actually never heard a person talk nice about the SU. Getting a job in SU is impossible. If you don’t have a means (money, a person you know, family member) then you will never get in, even if you have an excellent CV .
University is lovely, campus is good and I’ve had good experiences here
I feel like there are still some university issues that could be further addressed and resolved but in general I think its an amazing uni
Once find your communiy it is a great place a there is various society so you will find something
It was a really amazing experience! Its an amazing university I would recommend! Its in quite a wealthy area so a-lot of the sport clubs were too expensive for me to be able to join which is a shame. Overall its a lovely friendly and safe environment, they make it easy to succeed.
It’s good. But very quiet uni. Not much social engagement the building is pretty teaching is good but lacks social elements and effort in organisation
I never regret picking RHUL as my first choice university. The people here are so sweet and welcoming, from staff to students. The study spots are respected and pin-silent in the quiet spaces. Campus cats (Teepee!!) are always a bonus.
Campus has lots of spots to hang out at. The sports facilities needs a bit of work to accommodate for the large volume of students and should lower their prices. There are different food options available on campus but it can be a bit pricey.
Its so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing to add, I enjoy going here!
Great experience, love the campus
I’m in my final year here and I will definitely be sad to leave. I have been part of swim society whilst I’ve been studying and I have loved it. The sports teams all have a real sense of community. I do think that university need to up their services for students, especially wellbeing and support services. I also think that there isn’t really a sense of community across the whole university so there should be something put in place to tie us all together. However the facilities are amazing. The library is a great place to study, and founders is beautiful.
Awesome and great for education.
Staff support you and any issues you face in an understanding and sympathetic manner.
This place is good place once you find group and your vibe it’s great
Nice uni if you like a quiet life and pretty scenery. Lots of good spaces to study and events to get involved with. Campus is on a hill, which is a downside
Perfect university and good location
it has been great. precious time!
I’m only three months away but I can tell so far that this university is good. People in there a really nice, building is beautiful and teachers are great.
Very helpful staff and very welcoming environment
It’s a good university do recommend
Brilliant place, the teachers are wonderful and the actual campus is both diverse and has really good study spaces. I will say, the entire campus is on an uphill, which makes it quite hard to navigate sometimes, but it is 100% worth it
The staff at Royal Holloway are very good - it is hard at first to realise that you are now responsible for yourself but if you make the effort to reach out, then there are many different teams available that offer help.
My experience at university has been up and down with Covid however overall it has been a nice community helping me to learn and grow. All the facilities and societies have been good and the university is a lovely and aesthetic place to study.
Campus facilities are alright some of the shops are pricy for students but alright.
Campus is almost perfect, there are food trucks around and the Hub which has great food lunch I must admit. There are numerous societies too, which i go to join many. One being running club where one of our routes is going around our campus, which explains how big and spacious it really is. Career service are very helpful, they directed me to many helpful websites etc.

RHUL is a great campus not only is it nice to look at but it has great people and staff
The campus is in a quiet area with everything you need inside the campus. You can easily go to the towns close: Windsor, Staines, where you can find basically everything you want. The SU, different departments have a lot of events, so you can find anything for yourself. You are supported in every way if you seek for it.
Upon stepping onto campus, everyone including students and staff have been really helpful and welcoming. There are many campus facilities to use, especially love the Library, there are so many spaces to study. I love it. I am not a party go-er therefore I don't think my review for the SU is accurate. So far, there have been many career fairs and I know that I could make appointments with the career consultant if I ever need help. I know that the school has done a lot to extend help to students!
The main campus is amazing but the campus in central london for postgraduate international students who pay twice the fees should be improved a lot
So far the teachers are very approachable and easy going. The University as a whole is very supportive and I'm glad I chose this university.
The campus is amazing and the clubs/ societies and student union is so fun. Its nice that everything is so close and you know many people and see them often.
Very helpful staff and friendly too!
I live here third year in a row and I think it’s the best student accommodation to live in while studying at Royal Holloway. Rooms are cozy and equipped with everything you need, staff are always friendly and helpful and there are also some nice study/social common areas in the building. It is also extremely convenient in terms of the location, all the shops and cafes are nearby, as well as train station and bus station, by train you can get to the centre of London in 30-40 minutes and one bus goes directly to Heathrow Terminal 5, so the location is just 100/10. Really recommend it!
It is in a great location with nearby shops like Tesco and Waitrose and the train station is less that 5 mins by walk. There is also convenient access to the university via walking or bus. The rooms are cozy and issues are resolved fast
Everything is generally acceptable, only the Wi-Fi connection is really bad.
Royal Holloway is a great university, very close knit as it has quite a small campus and full of familiar faces.
Overall a really nice university with a community sort of feel. It would be nice if there was another shop on campus or more food options.
Really beautiful campus, with lovely staff who are always willing to help.
Good uni. I probably would’ve had a better experience had I not been a commuter
The campus is very nice and teachers are good
My experience over the past two years has been exceptionally positive. The accommodations include an ensuite room equipped with a well-appointed kitchen featuring a kettle, stove, microwave, and toaster. The shower offers both high water pressure and consistent hot water. The Wi-Fi connection is remarkably fast. Additionally, I appreciate the convenience of a marker board in the room, useful for jotting down notes or working through mathematical equations. The kitchen is spacious and impeccably clean, avoiding the cramped, claustrophobic feel typical of university housing. The parcel delivery system is highly efficient: upon arrival of a package, the staff promptly completes any necessary paperwork and notifies me via email. I can then collect my parcel from reception simply by signing for it. This contrasts favorably with university systems, which often involve delays and are restricted to business hours. Overall, my residency has been thoroughly enjoyable.
Royal Holloway is a magical blend of old-world charm and modern vibrancy. The architecture on the old campus feels like stepping into Hogwarts, with its timeless allure. Yet, the modern library and other campuses transport you to the present day. The library is a personal favorite, providing a perfect ambiance for studying. Each study space is thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere created by the books and fellow students is truly inspiring. The staff is friendly, and my course teachers are not just knowledgeable but also make studying enjoyable and fun. The Student Union keeps things exciting with a variety of events, ensuring there's always something happening. Joining societies is a gateway to a world of diverse cultures, hobbies, and interests.
It’s okay idrk im new but seems decent
Good university, however a lot of miscommunication between the departments. Some departments/people as well as student union are not always aware of all their responsibilities. So if you have an enquiry or problem, don't be surprised if you end up going around with no one helping you.
RHUL has a good reputation. The campus is beautiful and there’s many facilities. Teachers and students are very friendly.
It has a great environment to study in. There are enough facilities to use on campus. During the time at Royal Holloway, you can not only learn from lessons but also have the opportunity to gain more knowledge when collaborating with other students.
Great place to pursue a wide range of studies and especially interesting interdisciplinary courses situated in a peaceful, student friendly, and safe area.
Amazing university but there are some issues like internet and better quality food could be provided
The most beautiful campus lives up to its name.
I chose to study at Royal Holloway because of its high ranking on the subject I am studying
Royal Holloway is one of the top universities of Uk with all facilities on campus making it the prettiest campus in the Uk.
Greta university in a brilliant area!
Amazing i love the people and the campus
Nice experience. Could host more events
Good university very hard working environment and just an all around good spot to be
I think that social event is really interesting
It's quite a nice, small campus based university. It has what you need but improvements could be made to careers services as they are only online.
The university is too focused on making profit for example, you need parking permits to park and they often close parking for filming companies such as Netflix. Lecture materials are poor and the actual lectures lack quality.
I have not got a single bad thing to say about Royal Holloway. Absolutely stunning university, I am so glad I chose to come study here. I am a final year student and I am very sad to leave because I have enjoyed my experience here so much.
Good uni good teachers and good campus
beautiful, well-kept campus. decent learning facilities, good wifi. quiet area - maybe not ideal for people who want to be around vibrant night life however the on-campus student union and student bars are always busy and running events so it tends to keep people happy :)
It’s okay nothing special, The campus itself is very pretty tho!
Loved studying and living here so much! Will miss it a lot.
A good University shame about the location !
Could have more sports facilities and parking for commuting students as the current situation is poor
The campus is beautiful and amazing.
Good uni, can be better though especially the IT department
Royal Holloway is a fantastic University
It’s a good university with a great campus
Royal holloway has a few improvements necessary for it to be of good satisfaction. But again the experience is worth it.
The worst student experience of my life. Everything about this university has been expensive, hard, and boring. The staff are unsupportive and lazy, they never want to actually listen and help. The town and university has nothing fun or interesting to do. I know so many people who dropped out and joined other universities and are much happier now. I wish I dropped out too.
Interesting modules and all the professors are friendly!
All what you need from a university and more
Great learning materials engaging lectures and workshops
The university is in an isolated place. There is not much to do. The english department has a high quality of teaching. I like my accommodation but many do not.
It feels like a big boarding school so is very cosy. They try to organise many events to make up for the quiet neighbourhood which is always nice.
Dead uni in general, not much to say
Great place with helpful people.
