The price is very affordable compared to other apartments. Sometimes some infrastructure problems occur, but in most cases they are resolved quickly. I'm quite satisfied with my stay here.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
There are better places with better prices. This place is super e expensive and the property is not well managed. The lift is often out of service and the fire alarm is always sounding
The team welcomed me and are very helpful. The student accommodation is good and room is spacious
- Location is great: Tesco Express, Sainsburys Local, Costa, Dominoes, Subway and a Chinese supermarket within 5 min walking distance. 24h Asda about 15 minutes away, but the walk there is sometimes filled with rubbish and quite unpleasant. Quick access to Tube station, just beware that 90% of your travels to Central London will rely on the Central Line. - Quiet environment with minimal partying. Great for postgraduates and students who want to focus on their studies. - Very safe area. As a female student, I had no problem returning home past midnight. Streets are usually very well-lit. - Uses Glide Wifi so expect the same internet service if you’ve lived in accom that uses Glide. There have been some disturbances but no outages have lasted more than a day. Usually very reliable and quite fast for streaming. - Would recommend booking a flat in Block A as Block B has no reception nor laundry room. - Big, comfortable rooms
Good for how cheap it is compared to other accommodations. George at reception always helps when there’s problems.

The best part about staying at the Lyra is the great reception team. Location is great, being less than a 2 minute walk to North Acton station. Staying at the Lyra has been a great start to uni life.
The Lyra is a great building with a fantastic reception team. All staff here are lovely, it’s a great place to stay at.
The reception team are the best part of the lyra
The staff at the front desk are friendly, but they do poor maintenance. 1) Some rooms have no openable window. 2) The air conditioning system is terrible; some rooms are too cold, some rooms are too hot. It can get up to 28C some nights in my house because I cannot turn off my heating. 3) The air circulation is awful. The smell of your dinner will linger all night.
Excellent location: very close to North Acton tube station (Central Line), with Tesco, Sainsbury's and a gym only a few feet away. The internet quality is good. There have been events for socializing on various occasions (e.g. Halloween), but I have not attended any due to my program. The social space is quite good, with a nice view and comfortable furnishings, but I have never seen other people hanging out there. I have had some really bad experiences in my flat (dirty flat upon arrival, 10 days without heating in November, 1 week without light in the bathroom) and the laundry service (extremely dirty washing machines), that were eventually dealt with. However, the manager only took notice and sorted things out belatedly, that is after I made some serious complaints. It should be noted that the people who work here are very kind and helpful, but there seems to be a lack of coordination and prioritizing. Overall, a good hall, but overpriced like most student halls in London.
My room is spacious, has a great view. The staffs are very kind and helpful. I have no issue with maintenance as they resolve my issues the next day. The environment is clean Great terrace with amazing view. The hall is calm: you can sleep peacefully at night or take a nap. Everything is in proximity: The tube is 2min walk: great when you are running late for classes. We have shops or even superstores few stops away! environment is amazing HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HALL!! Especially those who never travelled before, there will be no worries ,as you’ll be safe in this hapl
Lovely place, just way too expensive for a student. Poor internet connection on smart TVs
