enjoyed the lectures and seminars however he finance team and support around the course was poor , fell in to difficulties online resources were cut which caused stress and affected my course, when I went to see my student union rep was told if your from abroad you get much longer grace period with fees which is not right. Secondly the Uni changed VLE half way through the year and online resources were always late , the tutors was always difficult to get hold of and feedback on our work was always late and sometimes never received. Overall I do not think the course was good value for money , I did a MSC Sport management
go somewhere else, what they are selling is not what they are giving, criminology course is stolen from anthropology.
So many places to get good food and coffee anywhere on Talbot Campus. There’s a pub, Dylan’s Bar with all day food and occasional quiz nights. There’s the atrium Starbucks in Poole Building, one in the very comfortable SUBU building, there’s a juice bar, a cafeteria with great food selection, a Starbucks and a costa cafe in fusion building, and another coffee shop in the Media Building. The library can get crammed at peak times, but has everything you need and a bridge link to SUBU building. Some more outdoor seating would be nice maybe, but it’s getting better and the lecture theatres, seminar rooms and other facilities are pretty neat. I like the atmosphere too, it’s friendly and feels more like a bunch of friends on a chilled out summer festival and because all buildings are arranged around sort of a courtyard it is very easy to meet people you know.
My complaint is with the transcript department not issuing official copies of your transcripts after 10-years have elapsed, essentially making your degree worthless. They initiated this policy without notifying any alumni. Thanks BU!
I love Bournemouth University. It is everything you would expect from a university and more. Very happy with my choice.
Love the university to be honest. Really good facilities etc! :)
The campus is large with lots of space to work
Don't have anything bad to say it's got everything you need tbh but doesnt exceed those expectations
I joined Bournemouth University with great expectations of societies and wonderful friendly people but was sadly disappointed on arrival. This hasn't improved over the last 6 months. You have to pay extra out of your pocket to take part in societies and even then they are terribly run and rarely meet! There is a minuscule collection of societies heavily revolved around sports or drinking... if you're looking for culture head somewhere else. Food on campus is overpriced and not student friendly. It's cheaper to get a meal deal at Tesco. The cherry on the cake is unfriendly peers who merely want to get drunk or go home for the weekend. I wouldn't recommend this university to anyone who has even a glimmer of life in them, it will suck it out of you.
University itself is a high standard, however they got rid of the best food/diner area in 2017 which left students with little to no eating places on campus.
