It’s a amazing university with excellent professors!
Very supportive and has a wide array of opportunities available, makes sure everyone feels seen and heard, amazing availability of clubs and societies, always something exciting going on.

Beautiful loaction with the world class education for international students
The apartment is good as a whole, but there are too few activities on special days such as festivals and there is no sense of belonging.
Good place to go to when studying any zoology with where it’s located, lecturers for the most part are ace and are always happy to help.
Helpful staff and excellent service. As a person who struggles understanding directions. It is the nicest place to pursue my masters I believe
I have not been in education for 30 years but thus is such a welcoming and diverse place. The MSc in counselilng offers a rich environment with great lectures and beautifully executed small group exercises. The dept has excellent links to potential placements
Facilities are great, all the societies I’ve joined have also been good fun and very welcoming.
Bangor university has very good facilities to support students in there learning, lecturers are very supportive and helpful, the module content is interesting amd fun.
Overall really enjoying my time here, the society's are great fun and the people here are great. The lecturers are really kind and good at their jobs too.
it is a good university staff and teachers were really helpful.
Very nice property for student
generally a great place with a large number of societies that are free to join and a lot of opportunities to further your career.
Bangor university is a great university that has a variety of services that help students in anyway they can.The lecturers and staff of the University are kind and understanding and if there was a place i could rate them it would be 5 stars.
Good facilities and campus. Not much to complain about.
Sometimes going up hills can be a pain, especially on wet/ windy days. It's pretty decent. The whole student services is great, mostly there for students when needed. There is plenty of things to do after lecture hours. There's something for everyone. All staff are lovely and kind, some have great personalities!
The campus is quite small for the amount of students at the university. Pontio is always crowded, as anyone is allowed to go in, so its not the best place to study, its more of a social area. It would be great if Pontio were open 24 hours a day just for students, and maybe from 8pm to 8am only students are allowed in the building. The 2 pound meals in Teras are great, however we need more places in Bangor that provide these meals, as Teras is far too small for the amount of people that turn up. There can be a lot of bullying in clubs/societies so maybe having an anonymous platform in which students can speak about these types of events would be helpful. In terms of placements/ graduate jobs, more needs to be done with international students, as they do not know about what their options are in terms of sponsorship and visa requirements. Lastly the issue with homophobia and racism needs to be handled, with both students and lecturers as its concerning.
great university and all staff are friendly. They are all very supportive and will give you all the help you need
Just about to finish final year and as someone who isn’t too fussed about the big city life and likes the more nature/views more- I have nothing to complain about (as long as you don’t mind hills lol)
again, amazing! recommended to friends
Amazing nature areas and you get a lot of support.
Uni is good society’s are the besr
Best experience of my life so far
Below average but definitely cheap in terms of tuition and especially the cost of living in Bangor.
Bangor was the best decision I made. The exposure I've got with the help of lecturers and their amazing methods of teaching is really fulfilling.
As an international student, a Nigerian, there is never a place home away from home like Bangor University. I enjoyed every bit of my academic experience at Bangor. Expert tutors, who are very knowledgeable in their respective fields and who are always willing to support students. Wonderful and active students Union that is doing great things to better students experience and wonderful Welsh people who have never discriminated against me. I would always remember Bangor University with fond memories. I had several offers from other universities in the UK but I chose Bangor for obvious reasons. No regrets at all.
It’s going very good up to now
Really good place to study a lot of students life
Absolutely amazing university since being there I have come out as trans, every sports society and society has been soo welcoming they have made it my home, my greatest friends have been made here, the uni staff are soo accommodating and accepting and have also have helped with my mental health soo much
Bangor University is a school to be preferred in every respect.
The careers service and student union are great, all of the university staff are always friendly and happy to help. when living on campus, rent is slightly more expensive than if you were to find a private landlord here, but laundry services are available 24 hours, and there are frequently special offers and events for campus students only. there are a tangle of slubs and societies to choose from. particularly culture and sports related ones. We also have a quidditch team, befitting of the Hogwarts -esque Main arts building.
My experience at bangor univerity is excellent. Because of higher quality of education system with excellent campus facilities, also active student life with diverse clubs and societies.
I love Bangor University, it gives a real community feel. Everyone knows everyone, so if you like the idea of a closer knit community it’s the university for you! There are areas of the uni that need updating; particularly in the media department. Overall though, it’s absolutely amazing!
There is so much stuff to do and to get involved with that I am constantly busy, but in a good way.
People in the Library constantly talk and think it’s social time, very frustrating, but other than that everything is great.
It’s fine, there’s alot to do however sometimes it’s harder to communicate due to the social events being hard to find.
Bangor University has an excellent academic team and support team, as well as a superb disability support programme.
Bangor University offers extensive learning opportunities and social activities and events throughout the whole year. There is always something going on and is very student orientated. The location of the University is perfect for sports and societies such as surfing, mountain climbing and wakeboarding and the highstreet has lots of different restaurants, pubs and clubs. You're bound to see someone you know on a night out and there's a real family-feel to the city.
The accommodations where are not available lift, I think I is too much difficult to carry luggage from ground to top. If there is any alternatives like sloping etc its help students.
I loved my time in Bangor Would relive it all in a heartbeat!
Bangor University is a great school to be depending on the department you belong to.
Interesting modules, but severly affected by covid. Most trips were cancelled. Would have liked more in-person practical experience.
Internet keeps cutting out, yet they claim it's award-winning wifi? The halls are like a prison with extra steps, literally paying for a kitchen that lacks basic equipment such as a kettle. I've seen better ovens and hobs in a bedsit for homeless people. The Hoover leaves the stench of death after use. The fire doors don't have a seal, thus rendering them useless. Borth X101-108 is not suitable for human habitation and should not warrant such a high cost to live in.
I am in the Wrexham campus and have had little support and the facilities are poor. The library is good and librarians are very helpful . I have also had good support from study skills. Support from lecturers is poor and accessing the correct information for assignments and general inquiries is difficult.
Lovely uni, good facilities, nice Bangor campus
Basic amenities, has everything thats needed
Good university. I know there is a lot to offer from Bangor university as I have friends joined in societies aswell as a lot of helpful staff and careers advisers within the university that have helped me along my way.
Bangor University is a lovely place to study with a great campus and facilities and multiple sights, the university has a number of great clubs and society’s with friendly and welcoming members who do on discriminate due to ability, the WiFi on campus however is quite temperamental and I find myself having to connect my laptop to my mobile hotspot instead of the universities WiFi overall Bangor is a great university to study at
Bangor University is a good university but nothing special in terms facilities and carrers and union it is a small city so this may affect this but for what it is it’s okay but the facilities are either outdated or when they aren’t they are always busy.
Bangor are a very understand university, have a good understanding of people living at home with carers backgrounds
Overall one of the best university with cooperative staff
Bangor University is accessible and helped a lot when I came over during 2020. It was the height of lockdown and I had spent 2 years working on getting into the Arthurian Literature MA, and the University really helped me as an international student get settled and the professors provided great lessons given the circumstances. I ended up staying for my PhD, and I'm currently in my 2nd year of PhD studies. I'll never regret coming to Bangor.
About a month here and I should have come earlier lol. Great tutors, serene learning environment, friendly and helpful people literally everywhere in the town. You guys are helping me apply my thoughts and get my brain to work more effectively haha
Brilliant, everything you need and more and not even expensive. The professors are always happy to help and there’s always a balance of seriousness and kindness with them. It’s always clean too and for a university you’d expect it to be a little run down but no!!! spotless. it’s a beautiful university, not to mention the library that’s stunning and the terrace ; terrace is perfect for a warm day
I am nearing the end of my first year at Bangor Uni and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. As it is my first year I have had a lot of spare time to be able to find opportunities and events to go to, of which there are so many. The number of societies is huge and so varied, and they run regular events weekly. I believe Bangor can suit any person, whether you want to go out and explore, join clubs and go to events, or be a bit more relaxed and independent. I have met many lovely people from all over the UK and abroad, and have made some wonderful friends; I like how you get to see people every day and grow closer as the year goes on. As for my course, I really like it so far. I do Wildlife Conservation and I have found it to be an interesting and not too heavy selection of work thus far. Overall very good experience here though I would appreciate a bit more organisation and communication for assignments and assessments.
Bangor University is generally a fantastic university! There's a slight lack of communal study areas since the science library has been closed for renovations, but I have very little to complain about otherwise. The clubs and societies are free and easy to join, so you can try out all of the hobbies and sports you want! The students union continually works to better the university. Most notably, the SU has ensured that there are free menstrual products in ALL university toilets, and students can register for free reusable menstrual products. I have also always had good experiences with the careers service, and I can always connect to the university WiFi.
Its great, all the staff and students are very helpful and welcoming
Well organised university with extensive student support. Find it difficult to connect to university wifi at times.
The Wrexham Campus is relly engaging for the student and while the main campus in Bangor has a lot of clubs and societies, the Wrexham campus does not have any options. It would be great if we did. Thank you
I think that this university is okay, not much to do around here though
Bangor University is a friendly university which offers a lot
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 years at Bangor university.
Good support system for students, but it is hard to access. Lots of communication across the university, but again if you are looking for specific resources you have to ask.
My experience with Bangor University has been outstanding, the quality of teaching, library services, exciting modules, and career services are amazing. The one thing I would like to improve: is more study spaces. Besides that, BU has amazing sports clubs, societies, volunteering opportunities, and FREE language classes.
Bangor University has a multitude of passionate professors actively working in the field, teaching from experience! It's great to be able to learn in such a hands-on environment.
An amazing place which provides great oppurtunities for student regardless of background and/or any disabilities.
Awful at offering suppirt to students who need help for genuine reasons. It reqyired me to be rushed to A&E and spending 2 days in resus for the university to acknowledge I need support
A lovely supportive university. That always put the students first no matter the circumstances.
Loved the uni itself, haven’t heard a whole lot from the student Union hence the 4 stars but it may be because I just don’t really get involved. I will say Bangor itself, nothing to do really apart from shopping which is not really any good for students and the pier which is nice but quite a long walk from accommodation and not really that fun once you’ve been on it a couple times
The school of health has spent a lot of time developing the organisation of the course since the toll of covid, they offer unconditional support to trainee nurses.
An amazing university which is very diverse and inclusive for anyone who goes. You feel like you're in the best care here with plenty of people you can contact for help whenever it's needed.
Coming to Bangor University for my Msc program is the best decision I ever took because they make study and attending lectures so easy for me. All the lectures are ready to help out if you have any difficulties in your study.
I am enjoying my time at Bangor University.
Bangor University is a great place to study. The school prioritizes the comfort of the student whilst providing all the necessary requirements for a smooth learning process.
I would say that there is ample opportunity in bangor both for accessibility to resources for studying and a social side too, with many societies to join, as well as part time employment opportunities too
Bangor University offers excellent campus facilities for studying and leisure time, my personal favourite has to be the library in the old mains arts building! There is also a huge selection of clubs and societies to join for students to make new friends who share the same hobbies and interests as them. The Careers service was also a great help for me, extremely helpful for students who are looking to explore their career options!
Bangor University has always provided a safe and engaging environment, including all students with various options suited to individual needs. During my first week there, multiple events were held, including sponsorships from local businesses, outdoor cinema, and sports/society sign-ups on different days to accommodate everyone. Most campuses in Bangor are close together and very accessible and my lecturers are extremely helpful, understanding and punctual. Student support is accommodating to every student's individual needs and I have never felt a query/request went unrecognised. Something I would improve on would be more links to career services, I see emails coming through about the careers service however nothing active in my lectures that may help or services current in relevant campuses.
The teaching quality is great, and most of the facilities are too, but some buildings (particularly Fron Heulog) could do with an upgrade! Overall really happy with my choice to study here.
over my three years of learning here, Bangor has been an amazing university, I admittedly have not used all of the services available, however I know that they're most likely very good.
Bangor University is located in a very quiet area suitable for studying. The University has a good reputation and has produced successful students all over the World and some becoming celebrities like Hamza Yassin 's journey started with the University and he has shared his story of the support he got from the University . His story was so touching as he said that if it wasn't for Bangor University he wouldn't have achieved what he has achieved which goes to show that the University tutors are so supportive.
Been studying here for 4 years now and I cannot complain about this university. They have the friendliest and helpful staff and everyone is just great.
Bangor university has a very supportive team for students in every department.. they allot a private Teutor to every student which is very unique because it is very helpful to have a person available every time to you to fix your problems....
A great university and brilliant staff, would recommend to anyone looking to study in the future
Affected tremendously by covid so haven't enjoyed or had the typical uni experience but could have been worse
Not a lot of advertising for societies Live at home in Menai (6min drive from uni). Very isolating and can’t wait to move on and out of uni. Majority of lecturers have been unhelpful and unsupportive.
all around good experience a few complaints but nothing that sticks out.
Good amount of computers to use on campus but would avoid taking your own laptop as the Wifi is not great.
Bangor is fab for student support and learning support needs however factilities in some of the buildings (Fron Heulog) make the space a little difficult to be a student in. There is no eating, kitchen space. Overall super great!
Bangor University has a wide variety of incredible facilities which cater to pretty much every individual and their interests. The sporting opportunities in particular are incredible with a huge variety of clubs and societies for people to join which really shapes your university experience. For those not interested in sports there are also a huge number of other clubs and activities available which people can join. Students are able to put forward ideas to university such as investing in certain areas or creating new clubs. As well as incredible facilities, the lecturers and staff are really helpful and are easy to communicate with which helps if you have any issues or questions. There are a huge number of spaces to study which are key for the academic side of university, some of which are open 24/7 which is a really helpful. Overall Bangor university is an amazing place to study, providing loads of opportunities to develop or expand personal interests and academic capabilities.
Spent four years here, couldn't imagine being anywhere else. Great university, great subject school, and very friendly staff who are always willing to help out.
Bangor is a scenic town and its mainly famous because of the university. I am extremely satisfied with the lecturers and the university accommodation is affordable and safe .
Great university in a great location. They care immensely about the students and make sure everyone feels at home
Welcoming and good vibes. Very scenic place and great views and nature around the city.
In my first year currently and it has been such a beautiful area to come to and the facilities are so helpful.
Bangor University has stand out still in teaching qualities. It is very accommodating and give support to international students. I enjoy the different facilities to study and want to have more of Bangor University after my postgraduate program.
Facilities could be better as well as the wifi
Loved my first year here so far! Great community
One of the best, if not the best university that provides excellent support for International Students.
Great uni! Free clubs and socials.
