Not the best, working online has been difficult and a lot of self directed study instead of actual lectures. Not a lot of continuity
I do not have a single bad thing to say about Prifysgol Bangor University. It's staff are incredibly helpful, both on matters regarding the course I take and matters regarding general wellbeing. The sheer volume of high-quality societies (That are all free!) was amazing to learn about, and I took part in things I never thought I'd have an interest in. The buildings are incredibly well-maintained. Even things that you'd take for granted, like a constant Wi-Fi connection, and a commitment to being an inclusive and friendly campus. Bangor University is, and this is my honest opinion, as close to perfect as a university could be. Do not take this as someone sucking up with fake praise, I have rarely felt as welcome as I do at Bangor University. The only I reason I haven't given the Students Union and Careers Service directly, is because I've never directly needed them! If I had, I would have given those five stars as well.
Bangor is a perfect spot for students who love an adventure! Just a quick ride across the Menai bridge and you’re on the beautiful Anglesey. All staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are a wonderful place to study. Overall, nothing to complain about!
Bangor University feels like home. The staff are all lovely and I’ve never had any problems. I love being apart of the university
Wonderful university. The tutors are very kind and there is a lot of academic and professional support. The location is lovely, though a bit far from other places. The clubs and societies are very fun and creative. The accommodation is great, offers many activities, and is well-organised.
Overall it’s okay. They need to listen to their students earlier on. They should give money for PGCE student towards cost of petrol to placements.
The university lectures, clubs and societies are great but the Wi-Fi isn’t the best and the old buildings for accommodation are awful when it comes to energy efficiency and maintenance.
Bangor is a nice university that is relatively easy to figure out and there are many people who are willing to help. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to find the person that I am supposed to speak with about a certain topic, but once I have found them they have always been helpful.
I have studied Adult Nursing at Bangor university and have been very happy with the recourses that the university offers. I have been supported by my lecturers through tutorials and have made use of the online Library facility. The online library service has been valuable since I do not live in Bangor. It is simple to use and even helps with referencing my literature.
free sports and clubs are one of the best aspects that bangor offers, you can try anything you want for free and not spend £100 like at other unis!
Great course. WiFi not so good on normal site, can take a while to connect. Also not a lot of parking space on site there as well.
I love the university i love my course (Marine Biology) i love the societies and clubs but i feel we have lacked a lot of support, an opinion reflected by my classmates.
As an individual with dyslexia and a physical condition the university supported me throught my studies. The university records all in person lectures for you to look back on when writing assignments or to recap content. The university also has a wide range of club and societies with sporting equipment and space available to the students.
Bangor University is quite Helpful and Professors are great for teaching and helping out students.
Bangor is a great university overall, the teaching is of a high standard and I have had a variation of opportunities and made many friends. There is a variety of clubs and societies, which have lot done for them. Many campus facilities are available to students such as study spaces and cafes. The students union could be improved as it is mainly a place for meetings, and there is little space for events to be held there. If it had a bigger space there could be scope for it to become a hub for students and have more facilities and events held there. The location is quite obscure as well and difficult to access for some due to the position in the building. Apart from this, my experience of the university has been overall positive and I would not study elsewhere if given the choice.
It’s a remarkable university in a beautiful town, with brilliant staff and really kind people. I love my time here.
very good, enjoyable, comfortable and as close to home as possible!
Heavily student focused, lots of support from mentors/tutors/lecturers and the student union themselves. Helpful with disabled students like myself and those on the lowest income band also like myself. For these personal issues the university has provided support in lectures, advisors and are open to hearing feedback and any suggestions that you feel would help you. The campus is of a great standard, the wifi is patchy from time to time but fixed easily when getting in contact with IT, they also have an alternative one for anyone struggling with eduroam. Has a wonderful range of shops and cafes that are accessible for everyone, with different price caps such as £2 hot meals for students with low income.
I have only good feelings of my Bangor University experience.I love Bangor university, its a great university with a wide range of facilities(multiple libraries and computer labs).A well professional school specialised in Business, Marketing and Management. I love its location, easy access to nature.I can study in a great location, with great lectures, engaging seminars and workshops. Overall, I would say that Bangor University is a great choice for me, I receiving a quality education under the the great lecturers supervision. All teachers are very loving and supportive. I LOVE BANGOR ❤️
Bangor University is a great university and I feel so supported. There are great facilities to help me thrive in my degree and set me up for the future!
Bangor university has a really good wide range of societies which are free for any of their students as well we are a really good gym with good expensive equipment.
Bangor univeristy is really good and is like a little nice village, especially in ffridd halls.
Great school, a good environment with endless possibilities!
Great, you meet really nice people. A couple of literally chads but they’re easy enough to avoid. Some great lecturers you can really bond with
Bangor is a warm and welcoming community for its students. If you are willing to put yourself out there you can surround yourself with different life experiences from the clubs and societies whilst still upholding a high standard of work. Bangor university is for the outdoor and adventure seeking students, natural science people are sure to find their place here.
A good university surrounded by amazing scenery with well organised clubs however the staff interaction is not very well organised
Amazing university with friendly and safe enviornment for international students. University has best capmus buildings and Halls. International department is always ready to help the students in every way. University has best intellectual and academic resource - be it teachers or Books.
The university supports the student activities a lot. The clubs and societies are all free to join which really encourages students to do more activities and connect with new people.
Bangor university is split across 2 areas (Wrexham and Bangor) The campuses at bangor give a hogwarts vibe with good facilities on offer and society events whereas Wrexham seems forgotton and run down. There is clear divide between the two campuses which can leave Wrexham students feeling out of it. Some of the courses that cross both campuses try and put on events however there is a clear lack of effort on the university side.
Bangor is a great university. I have learned so much and met so many amazing people.
Excellent university, the facilities here such as pontio and the library as perfect - very clean and up to a high standard with fast wifi connections. Staff are very helpful in the university, and prices for the cafes are priced very well also. Clear to get around all the different campuses/lecture halls
Bangor university has given me the opportunity to work towards my dream job. I have done my undergraduate and postgraduates degrees here and I would not have wanted to go anywhere else, this university has left me wanting nothing. The university is small but this gives a sense of community in the area which I believe is not something that is often found in higher education.
Bangor university is in a beautiful location and student life here is good. It's a cheap and cheerful sort of city. Winters are pretty grim but summers are amazing. Good facilities for students.
Bangor University is a fantastic place to live and study, with a great range of places both to work and to relax. Bangor is surrounded by nature on all sides, which is great for headspace and downtime.
Poor access to uni + wifi sometimes! more food please, and more world foods!
I like my time here at Bangor uni. Good facilities and perfect perfect WiFi
I‘m an international student and I felt welcome from the first contact on. The international office is very helpful and plans a lot of trips.
Lovely and friendly University with staff always around to help! The facilities are great on campus, however not much around Bangor anymore!
Great facilities and a variety of societies makes Bangor special
This university has changed my life, the teachers have been amazing and encouraged me throughout the process, they have been amazing and I wouldn’t have my degree without them.
Bangor offers a lot for anyone leaving home for the first time. There is lots of pastoral care and fun activities to get involved in. Plus beautiful buildings and views. It’s a home away from home!
Bangor univeristy is an amazing place to study, fantastic lecturers, brilliant support and incredible clubs and societies
A friendly, welcoming, caring place to be, great range of services and absolutely beauuuuuutiful views when you need some mindfulness! The support from lecturers, peer guids, other students and people on campus is outstanding, a FANTASTIC place to study! Xx
Well organised and excellent staff!
As far as student experience goes Bangor is just about as good as it gets.
Clubs and societies are all free to join and easy to sign up for, never had any internet/wifi problems, campus is regularly updated to maintain good quality
Overall really good but hardly any options for placements for media students
I have only been at Bangor university for the past few weeks studying part time BN of nursing and already I’m well And truly overwhelmed. I have studied at degree level before but can’t remember getting information like I have had here over the past two weeks. First week we had various sessions from library - student union and what was available to us and what was on offer. I’m also receiving various emails to Join various clubs etc. if I was a young full time student again 🤣 I would be in my glory here plenty to do and get involved in and Plenty of advice and help ready to be had, everyone I have met so far have been so friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Bangor University is the best in academic career, Bangor University has good and qualified lecturers, conducive learning facilities and learning environment.
I'd have more than likely rated the other things as 5* had I used them more. Bangor university has been fantastic in making me feel welcome and part of the school over my first year. The staff are always helpful and go above and beyond for each student.
This is my first year study with Bangor . I am pleased with the course lay out and had a fantastic welcome week
My experience at Bangor University has been amazing. The lectures on my course have been very helpful and there is always so much to do.
Bangor offers a lot of different society’s and the student union are always keeping us updated with what’s happening and new events. Bangor is really supportive with finding employment. Great university experience
Great campus and supportive staff
I have enjoyed my time at Bangor University. There are a great number of sports clubs and societies all free to join. I have been a part of many and met my best friend in my first year which is nice people who connect with you share the same interests and goals each with different experiences to learn from and support one another.
Staff and students are all very friendly and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the university. Excellent facilities.
The best things about Bangor are the societies available and the amazing lecturers - everything else isn't much else to write home about. Tiny town where even the charity shops are closing, good luck if you want to visit any good shops since this is at least a half hour's train away in Llandudno. The nightlife isn't amazing with 2 bang average clubs, but the pubs are brilliant and cheap. Bangor's very cheap to live in which is a big benefit, the road and rail links are good (most of the time). The student halls are decent but do prepare to walk back up the biggest hill of your life back to bed if you want to go into town/uni/anywhere else!
Awesome , Friendly and supportive environment. that extremely important for an international student. Classes and facilities are provided. Easy excess to Blackboard to regular excess class and refer to study material. Library and digital work space is best to learn and contribute focus time on assignment and study.
Does what it says on the tin. Main building is beautiful and the rest is your standard uni building. Facilities are what you would expect but WiFi can be patchy and over loaded at times.
Over all a well rounded set of facilities are provided for the students, the staff linked to the facilitues are knowledgeable and helpful and are always happy to support students.
My experience with studying at Bangor university, now in my 3rd year of completing my Diagnostic Radiography degree, has overall been good. Tutors have provided a solid level of teaching and coaching throughout as well as providing support and guidance.
Great uni flexible, learning, available, online and face-to-face. All tutors are Very helpful.
I have had an amazing experience as an international student at Bangor university. It felt like home a few days into semester. The staff, the management and the processors are super supportive and encouraging which makes it even better to study here.
It’s okay, not many study areas though and parking is a nightmare even with a permit
Really nice halls very clean with everything you would need. Serendipity was also very well organised. Lots of clubs and societies that were all very welcoming
Facilities and campus is great, wifi could be better.
I have used the library for revision during my assessment period and it was perfect, lots of support around for all subject. Online services from Bangor university are excellent
Bangor University is a fantastic institution that provides its students with excellent academic and personal growth opportunities. Its location and the community make it an attractive place for people to visit, and its reputation and facilities make it a great place to study.
All the services I have accessed have been incredibly helpful and integral parts into settling into university life and the success of my university career.
The support and facilities at Bangor are very welcoming. They genuinely want what's best for you and they look out for their students wellbeing
I am a Bangor student on Wrexham campus where there are none or very little services available to us but we still pay the same tuition fees.
A great university only issues I’ve had have been to do with study space availability
Great campus, Inspiring faculty.
A lively place with a great atmosphere and view of the mountains. Within walking distance of anywhere and everyone is friendly and kind.
Generally good, can improve on some areas
Overall good but needs some work in areas (inclusion, external campuses and organisation of lectures)
When in halls was great wifi was decent disconnected now and again, clubs great all payed for from AU
The lecturers are amazing, always there to support you
Very good! I’ve had an amazing 3 years here studying.
Bangor University is not only located in a gorgeous part of Wales. But is Home to some of the most supporting people - including university staff, fellow students and members of the community. I have moved over 300 miles away from home and never felt so welcomed. The endless amount of clubs and societies have provided me with the chance to meet friends for life that have the same interest who are not on my course. Bangor University, have so many support networks set up, there is always a listening ear or a helping hand. As a dyslexic student I was worried about falling behind fellow peers, but the dyslexic team and program lectures have made the course easy to understand and supportive. The security team are brilliant! From supporting me in my blond monuments of being locket out, to car troubles. I could not fault them. Campus facilities are above and beyond what I have seen before, from my initial tour on my first visit I was sold. I would recommend Bangor to all.
Bangor university is one of the most beautiful and also give the students to leadership skills and big opportunity to the students to study good environment and also they help the international students any aspect.
My experience at Bangor has been different with COVID restrictions but the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure comfort and wellbeing is prioritised throughout my studies here. The facilities are really useful and up to a great standard. The societies are very inclusive and fun !!
Best study in Bangor university
Really approachable staff who have helped over the last year
As a current student at Bangor University, I can confidently say that this university offers a top-notch learning experience with modern and well-equipped facilities, including spacious lecture theatres and a well-stocked library. The student union is highly active, with over 150 clubs and societies available for students to pursue their interests and make new friends. The careers service is invaluable, offering guidance on CV writing and job searching. With reliable Wi-Fi and readily available IT support, students can access online resources from anywhere on campus. Bangor University prioritises student wellbeing, providing personalised support and promoting mental and physical health. Lecturers and staff foster a friendly and inclusive environment, encouraging students to reach their full potential. Overall, Bangor University provides an ideal setting for students to succeed both academically and personally, and I feel fortunate to study here.
It’s fine. The trouble is different departments seem to be very seperate from eachother, disability support seems to be challenging to access for some courses with no one really knowing the answers
Lovely campus, old buildings but nice and the new buildings are very well equipped. Internet can often be very slow and sometimes problematic.
I’ve enjoyed my experience at bangor university. Despite having some online classes due to Covid 19 the university has always been open for us to attend to study when needed. Now, as we attend lectures in person the facilities they offer accommodate all my needs.
Good campus facilities such as the gym, halls of residence excellent with good wifi connection. There are loads of different clubs and societies available to join so there is something for everyone.
Coming to the end of my second year at Bangor and enjoying every second, made so many new friends and really loving my course. Thinking of applying to do a masters degree also at Bangor which will further enhance my chances of reaching my dream job of becoming a social worker.
I am an international student at Bangor University from Pakistan. Started my journey with this university in January 2023. After joining Bangor University I found myself lucky to study here, having beautiful halls with highly qualified teachers and ICT facilities in classes. Further more helping staff and administration. Everything is so easy that we can discuss any issues through online portal and face to face meetings as well. Delivery of lectures and providing help at every step is so appreciated.
Lots of activities on campus if you know where to look but a small city with the most exciting stuff outside of it.
Lots to do and you always feel that if there is a problem it will get solved pretty quickly. Good facilities and activities.
The uni itself is pretty good however the nursing school support is appalling. Nothing good to say about it at all.
I’m a mature student don’t don’t tend to go to the clubs/societies, or use a lot of the facilities but I know on my welcome week and thereafter I’ve seen loads of things that are really good and available to everyone. Been very happy with the help I’ve received from everyone up to now and how staff in any department are always helpful
An excellent university during face-to-face teaching with a reasonable amount of support. Very good dyslexia support. Less good for online teaching as during this period I felt out of the loop when learning.
Studuying at Bangor has been the most wonderful time I have had in my life when I started my 1st degree in 1990. I came back more than 2 decades to do a PhD and even though a lot has changed it remains a truly teriffic place that I can highly reccomend.
Decent uni experience, clean, lots of societies to join free of charge, studying spaces are good but crowded. Access to wifi throughout the entire uni campus
Very easy campus to work around after a while. Lecturers are all really helpful in all aspects.
Generally a very good university. Had a brilliant undergrad here, however my postgraduate (translation studies) is lacking slightly. The pastoral support are brilliant, as well as the wellbeing service, and the lecturers are all clearly passionate about their areas of study. Overall a good environment and I would recommend the university, even if not my specific course
