The campus and facilities provision is basic. Improvements are needed. No water stations. A few clubs and societies to participate in but not a diverse range. Not enough SU activity. Some help and guidance for onward study or placement/graduate jobs, but really not enough. Very poor internet connection.
Good uni, but no info for year abroad students we are very on our own
Bangor University is a beautiful building however I don’t think they provide enough assistance with regards to year abroad students as well as welcoming new students to the uni.
Being at Bangor has been a great experience so far. Every facility of interest is located within walking distance of the University and first year halls residences. The location itself also boasts amazing veiws and the lectures are always well organised and well presented. Overall a 10/10 experience!
Beautiful location, lovely campus, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and opportunities for students are great!
I returned to study at Bangor because I KNEW it to be the best university; from swapping stories with other friends and family I know Bangor far surpasses any other university in its support and pastoral care. 10/10.
Bangor university is located in an absolutely beautiful part of the world with Snowdonia and the sea directly on its door step. The university is a brilliant community and offers so many fantastic opportunities to everyone. I love Bangor, the city is great and there is so much academic involvement and brilliant study spaces all over campus!
The Bangor University Campus is pretty nice even though the main building could use some improvement as it is pretty old.
Overall my experience at Bangor university is great. It ranks 401 in World University Ranking by Times Higher Education. This university has a recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research.
Best university ever. Teaching system is very good.
Its pleasure for me to join this university because I love it and its studies is effective.
Bangor university has been an amazing experience. I have spent nearly 5 years here and wouldn’t change it. All staff and facilities have been brilliant.
One of the best universities to pursue your educational career. A lovely place to live, everything is near by. I am enjoying the learning environment of Bangor University.
Compared with other universities bangor does not have the same facilititire for example flats in the friddoedd campus are a bit dated and the student union events are minimal
I’m back in Bangor Uni for my 3rd degree, the mentors have been absolutely fantastic, and always ready to help. I’ve had a range of experiences throughout my studies.
The uni and student services are brilliant, but outsourced admin departments, such as Halls, could be better at communicating with each other and the university as a whole. They could also do with being more respectful when handling delicate matters.
I like bangor university I am student of the bangor university. I like there study life and campus and I like it is location near sea and mountain.
Not a lot there as I am on Wrexham campus. Feel like I’m not part of the uni
My course has a problem with economic diacrimination, they forced me to retake the year because I couldn't come back before January 3 after Christmas
Bangor university is welcoming and a safe community to study and make friendships
Bangor university is in a great location and have a great relationship with students providing support in all areas of student life. Halls of residence is a very reasonable price with great, consistent wifi.
Friendly, social and inclusive university. I spent the first few years online due to covid but met loads of people in my cohort. Lecturers are enthusiastic about their subject and I’ve really enjoyed most of them.
It’s pretty good, could do with more seating areas for students which have enough space for everyone But otherwise gucci
Bangor university is an extremely welcoming community. It now feels like a home away from home, and I can't imagine being anywhere else.
Great support and opportunities to take part in societies of any interest.

Great university in scenic location.
Bangor University is quite informative and provides great help to forward the students careers! From workshop events to free headshots for your LinkedIn profile. Even helping out with understanding how to use LinkedIn effectively. Bangor strives to provide each individual student with the best preparation for their careers
Campus architecture is great! It's like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. The accommodation is very comfortable and the furniture and appliances are basically new.
As a mature student, it was quite a change for me to come back into learning, especially as it was a last-minute decision. Bangor made it so easy and supported me the whole time. Now I am here and loving the course, the lecturers are so enthusiastic. I am now almost finished with my first year and already planning for my masters and future.
Bangor is a great University because the teaching and the support services is excellent. There are many clubs and societies to get involved in. The student union cares about students and University life. There is a good sense of community in Bangor. It is a great place to meet new friends for life!
Facilities are dated and generally oversized and cold. Feels as though staff are trying to get students to drop out an this is echoed by students from previous years.
Overall experience is very good but sometimes international students face problems with finding lectures room due to lack of proper guidance of building layout.
My first year at bangor uni had been amazing! My course is interesting and there is always support available for any issues you may have. The range of online resources is incredible and extremely useful. There is a huge variety of societies and clubs to choose from and tons of events to attend.
Bangor university is great for social activities and career advise, would highly recommend
I think Bangor Uni is amazing. I am studying Applied Terrestrial and Marine Ecology and it is set in the perfect area to do field work or to even enjoy the wildlife in my own time! There are plenty of clubs and societies to choose from and if you are ever troubled with anything, help is only an email away!
Great uni. had issues with flat mates and it was resolved immediately. similarly with issues I had regarding my mental health needs
Outstanding facilities and welcoming personalities
Moving abroad can be daunting, and I was fairly certain that I wouldn't cope very easily when I planned to study at Bangor University. I thought I wouldn't feel right at home right away and that's acceptable. But to my surprise; pleasant one indeed, I felt belonged! I felt as though I was right at home. That's the comfort you get at this University and to top it all off, the education, the professors, the students, everything fits. It's amazing place to study and I can't imagine being anywhere else!
Bangor University's location makes it so unique. Bangor itself is a small city so getting exploring the surrounding mountains and beaches is essential. Being located on the shores of the Irish Sea is ideal for researching Ocean Sciences.
Overall a good experience. I have enjoyed my time studying here, however there are aspects of some services and amenities where improvement would be beneficial. There is an enormous selection of well run clubs and societies that are run by students. This is fantastic and great for all students. The employability service have been really useful throughout my time at uni, providing workshops and opportunities for all students. They treat and take every student as an individual and have been a great help. Unfortunately wifi can be problematic in certain lecture theatres, as well as some theatres being outdated (not many accessible plugs for laptops). This is not a campus uni, which means it lacks a main student hub one might expect. This can be irritating, especially in high stress times as finding suitable space/area to study is difficult.
Halls are decent and satisfactory, the union is good and there are events every week.
V supportive when emergency strikes, I’m not a huge fan of the subjects we cover but the tutors are clearly knowledgeable about them.
No enough student communal space at all buildings
Bangor University has given me lots of opportunities not only to widen my education, but also to take steps into my career and hobbies. They have a wide range of clubs and things like careers fairs, and the facilities on my course are very impressive, allowing us to do practical's and things of that sort that really add to our learning.
Studied at wrexham campus. Not much there.
Bangor University is a top-notch institution that provides an outstanding learning experience for students. As an alumni, I can attest to the high-quality education and the exceptional academic support that the university offers. The professors are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, and they go above and beyond to help their students succeed. The campus is breathtakingly beautiful, with its location between the mountains and the sea providing an ideal environment for studying and outdoor activities. Bangor University also has a vibrant student community, with a range of clubs and societies that cater to different interests. Additionally, the university is committed to sustainability and has taken numerous initiatives to reduce its environmental impact. Overall, I highly recommend Bangor University to anyone seeking a world-class education in a stunning setting.
Such a great experience that after my master I decided to come back to do a PhD!
Within this 3 years school career in Bangor, I feels this school really care about students'academic and mental development.
Great experience for natural science students. Campus library and study spaces leave something to be desired (more space needed). My experience is as a postgrad student so I am not as involved in clubs and societies but there appear to be plenty of options.
Bangor University is one of the best University in United Kingdom. Bangor University offer a huge number of Postgraduate courses with various field. Bangor University provide highest quality of teaching in a supportive learning environment with courses across the arts, humanities and sciences to choose from. Bangor has a perfectly situated campus with views of mountains and beaches. There are loads of places to go out and learn new hobbies.
Bangor University is a great place to be, a great citadel of knowledge with great tutors and amazing methods of learning. Bangor University has nice environment suitable for learning. Bangor University is the best I’ve seen.
Bangor University is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. It has many interesting societies which are free to join. The outdoor sport societies are extremely well equipped being in such a perfect location.
As a student, I had an incredibly positive experience studying at Bangor, and I would highly recommend the university to others. One of the main strengths of Bangor University is its focus on research-led teaching. This approach ensures that students are taught by leading experts in their fields, which provides a high level of education and helps students keep up-to-date with the latest developments in their disciplines. Furthermore, the university's research centres and institutes are engaged in cutting-edge research across various subject areas, creating exciting opportunities for students to participate in research or learn from world-leading experts. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, catering to various academic interests. For example, I am majoring in the sciences and found that the faculty was highly experienced and committed to ensuring that students had access to the latest research and laboratory facilities.
Bangor University is one of the best universities to study. The excellent place is surrounded by a green atmosphere and a sea. The buildings are attractive and have ancient architecture. Experienced and supportive professors, advanced technology, and many services and facilities make Bangor complete.
The student union are visible on campus and very interactive and assistive in social and sundry activities. The University IT is good and prompt in resolving IT related problems and helps provide uninterrupted service on campus. The teaching staffs and non academic staffs are friendly accommodating and assistive. The environment is good and enjoyable
Active, a wide range of international students, gorgeous, attractive, perfect teachers
An excellent university, that has much to offer a mature student. The support has been inspirational and I feel like I belong on the course having much support from my peers and the support systems available to me. My journey is positive and I have noticed personal and academic growth.
Bangor University is such a good and nice place for international students and bangor city is such a booring place. But BUIC is worst place and never recommended to any student.
I’ve had a fantastic first year at Bangor, I really think I’ve made the right choice. They really put a lot of effort into their societies and they’re all free!
This is an amazing place for learning and it's a world ranked university. 99% of students are satisfied with the standard of education
I am so happy I chose Bangor University to study it is the perfect mix of friendly people and pretty places to see the university is located in such a beautiful location a step away from snowdonia National park and also everything you need can be found in the town of Bangor from shops to swimming pools and gyms to resturusnts Bangor is also a stones throw away from the beach and the lovely views on menia bridge the university is fabulous for accommodating people from all walks of life no matter how far you have come from as I am from suffolk so a near 6 hour drive away it’s the perfect place to feel like you have a home from home I love it
Bangor is a very fun community to be a part of the campus is very good with great facilities on it the clubs and societies are all fun amazing groups of people and host so many cool events and the SU do a great job supporting them
Bangor Uni is amazing, especially when I compare it with Bogomolets National Medical University.
Bangor University has a nice main campus and is in a very pretty location. However, it has some issues of a smaller school like somewhat struggling facilities although the courses are good. A great range of clubs and societies to get involved in!
Great variety of clubs and societies
Bangor University is an excellent University to be a part of. Placed at the heart of the town the university plays a crucial part in the life of many, The campus are scattered around the town, with clear directions to find where you are looking for. Personally I spent some of my time at the university in the main art building. A historical beautiful building that offered plenty of character. Clubs and societies were on offer with students encouraged to take part. I will look back at my time at this special university fondly.
I have been a student at Bangor university for 5 years now. I can not fault the services they provide. On multiple occasions I have had to seek support from many of the services available including finance department, student support and the IT department. Bangor is a great university and I have really enjoyed my time as a student thus far.
Easy to find. Very good support from staff.
I loved Bangor so much, I came back for a second time around
I have had a good time at the Bangor University and have learnt a lot while studying here.
I live in the campus and I enjoy it, it’s worth the money and there’s no hidden fees you’re not wary about. I’ve not joined a club/society but I heard they’re very welcoming and accept anyone of interested, i enjoy the main arts, including the cafeteria, the library, and the views. It’s very easy to make friends? To study in pontio, to walk around campus, to locate lectures, I’m very happy that I chose bangor.
Studying at Bangor has been great so far. It’s nice to be somewhere less rural than my home with more facilities but also not a super busy, crowded city. The facilities (particularly the labs for ocean sciences and buildings like pontio) are comprehensive, and some buildings have a modern feel while many are older and historical, so you can find somewhere to study that you like. Overall most teaching has been great, and while there are the few times that a lecturer or learning material is not as good as you’d hope, I’ve found it really easy to get in contact with staff and most are really engaging. It helps that the SU are making change for the better as well, so if something isn’t as you’d hope, it’s easy to start change in motion.
The best aspects is that living on campus is extremely easy to go to lectures and all scheduled events, it is easy to go round and there are many things you can do such as walk around the sea etc, as well as this there is also access to the bus to get to and back from Newport. The worst aspect is that there is not that much to do when things are not taking place such as there are not many communal areas for students to meet and chat, as well as this in catered accommodations there is no access to an oven or hob which is kind of annoying when we have to make our own foods on weekends. Apart from that this university is great and I am loving it.
I am based at the Wrexham campus and the facilities are fantastic. I live at the library as it’s so relaxing and makes doing work so much nicer!
A lovely, welcoming environment with excellent lecturers, facilities, and study of the highest calibre.
Three years of good facilities and services provided by the uni as a whole. Societies and clubs are amazing little communities that form into a bigger one at certain events and are free !
Many events/socials held, sometimes the university (tutor, some lecturers and mental health teams) has had bad communication
Good experience when we were in Bangor. Shame we didn't have the usual experience due to Covid.
Good lecturers Decent facilities
Bangor University is a great place to study. It provides amazing study facilities and free societies. It makes room within your timetable for your commitments for your societies as well.
overall, Bangor is not a bad university there are some areas that need improvement, but lecturers are useful and help where they can. Bangor has a lot of good study spaces, however, one of the main ones has become more of a hangout area creating lots of noise and a lack of space actually to do work. The university facilities such as cafes, and shops are cheap and welcoming, as well as offering students cheap meals due to the living crisis. student life, is mainly aimed at those who are willing to participate in activities and social interaction, however, it lacks activities for those with disabilities and or mental health issues.
Fantastic university -back for the third time!
Bangor University is in a great location. It’s got that stepping back in time feel about it. Great place to study. Would recommend anyone wanting a quieter, quality university to apply.
Small community thereby giving it a personal feel with lectures and its environs. Beautiful state of the art buildings and structures. A conducive environment to study.
Good university, they have a strong focus on the wellbeing of the students whilst doing their best to make everything as simple and accessible as possible. The only small complaint I could give is that navigating the campus as a new student is rather difficult.
I think the 5 stars sum everything up. Everything in Bangor is well structured and fully functional.
Bangor University is a great place to study, from its location to its lecturer support. The staff go above and beyond to support you. They listen to student voice and want the best for each individual.
Bangor university is very informative in terms of career facilities, jobs, support and clubs which the university offer themselves as well as outside resources which is good to know when in doubt or when struggling. I have heard hardly anything about students union but was meant to be greeted by one for a tour in welcome week.
Really friendly and welcoming university, the campus is really good and the sports hall and gym is well equipped. Wish there was a pool though.
Has a stunning location, really great lecturers which are always super responsive. Easy to use system for accessing work and catching up on past seminars. Overall good experience
Bangor University is the Best place to study. Teaching method is very Good which is more than meeting the international standard. Course outlines is very good. Campus is located on most beautiful place.
An excellent university. Very supportive teaching staff and supporting staff. Many accredited courses and taught to an exceptional level. Not only is the teaching excellent the support services and the clubs and societies are exceptional and very friendly.
Not the best, working online has been difficult and a lot of self directed study instead of actual lectures. Not a lot of continuity
I do not have a single bad thing to say about Prifysgol Bangor University. It's staff are incredibly helpful, both on matters regarding the course I take and matters regarding general wellbeing. The sheer volume of high-quality societies (That are all free!) was amazing to learn about, and I took part in things I never thought I'd have an interest in. The buildings are incredibly well-maintained. Even things that you'd take for granted, like a constant Wi-Fi connection, and a commitment to being an inclusive and friendly campus. Bangor University is, and this is my honest opinion, as close to perfect as a university could be. Do not take this as someone sucking up with fake praise, I have rarely felt as welcome as I do at Bangor University. The only I reason I haven't given the Students Union and Careers Service directly, is because I've never directly needed them! If I had, I would have given those five stars as well.
Bangor is a perfect spot for students who love an adventure! Just a quick ride across the Menai bridge and you’re on the beautiful Anglesey. All staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are a wonderful place to study. Overall, nothing to complain about!
Bangor University feels like home. The staff are all lovely and I’ve never had any problems. I love being apart of the university
Wonderful university. The tutors are very kind and there is a lot of academic and professional support. The location is lovely, though a bit far from other places. The clubs and societies are very fun and creative. The accommodation is great, offers many activities, and is well-organised.
Overall it’s okay. They need to listen to their students earlier on. They should give money for PGCE student towards cost of petrol to placements.
