I’ve had an amazing experience at Llys y Deon. The management are exceptional, it feels like there isn’t a problem they can’t fix, and they’re genuinely kind and friendly. The rooms are great, just like the listings, and the water pressure is perfect. The location is great, close to shops and Dean Street building, but there’s very little road noise with a courtyard view room. The only major issue is with the internet, as ASK4 aren’t the best ISP (there’s been some periods of slowdowns and a few outages), but management go above and beyond in pushing them to fix issues quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend living here.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Nice location, very close to the uni. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The staffs are very open-minded and friendly nice
Good place to live, the staff are chill and are easy to chat to. Social spaces are nice. Nice if you just want a chilled out place to live!
Llys has been my home for going on three years now and I don’t think I could be happier in Bangor. The staff are incredible all round, from the cleaning staff and maintenance to the managers, they’ve all made me feel so welcome and happy during my time here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with amazing views and super close to the university. I can’t recommend Llys y Deon enough!
My stay at Llys y Deon has been fairly good. I've had some issues with amenities in my kitchen ie a Kettle isn't provided and the rubbish needs to be emptied by the flat. The internet here is also fairly spotty but it works well. However it is made up for by my room. It's oddly designed but it feels homely in a way other places i've been just haven't.
A lovely building with super friendly staff, love my room and the location in Bangor.
Very pleased with my room and it’s location in Bangor.

Really lovely living environment, been a great place to stay over the last two years. Good facilities, amazing staff team all round :)
My experience in LLys Y Deon has been a really great one. The social spaces are very condusive and nice. The managers have also been very helpful. They have organised loads of student activities and events which have been very fun as well
been living here for 2 years now and i would highly recommend it to anyone. The services are great and the staff are always kind and helpful.
Very great student accommodation, everyone is friendly and the social interaction is good
Amazing staff, Brillaint accommodation. Literally have nothing bad to say about it. I’ve lived here 1st year and 2nd year and I am continuing again in 3rd year, I’ll be sad to leave this place!! X
Great place to live and the staff are so welcoming and friendly.
Best accom in Bangor. Would recommend to any students
First and foremost the customer service is incredibly good, and I am always greeted with a friendly welcome when I am in reception. I am paying for the bronze suite which is the cheapest and smallest room. It's size is the same as a bog standard halls accommodation but dressed up more nicely with good desk space and great storage. There have been a good few maintenance and cleaning issues, for example the lift in my block didn't work for months despite many inquiries about it. As well as this, due to some disrespectful students, the stairs in my block are usually covered in many gross and sticky substances (liquids from leaking bin bags, vomit, general dirt from outside) and are very rarely cleaned which is unpleasant. I have recently begun using the social lounge and the space is great, there's an American pool table, and a table football table, along with poker sets, board games, cards, a TV with an Xbox 1 (although the controller has been stolen and needs replacing) and games.
I’ve lived here for 2 years of my University experience and I will be spending my final year here too. Nathan, Yas, and Sam are all amazing and so kind, helpful, and welcoming. They have activities all throughout the year for special events and amazing prizes to keep us entertained, and they give us treats during exam season too! Location is really good, close to Puregym and town, and close enough to Trilogy to not be disturbed by noise but only a 2 minute walk away. Love it here and the staff make it 10x better!!
Great place to live, staff are amazing, management make you feel like your at home.
Rooms are nice, lots of maintenance issues that aren’t really fixed, advertised that the kitchen will be cleaned but they don’t really do that, often have to ask for the kitchen to be clean and when it is they barely do anything so it’s pointless and when you let them know at reception they just say “oh they only wipe the surfaces” which anyone in the flat could do easily. Good location
I currently am not staying in university accommodation as I live local to the area and it is easy for me to commute there and back when needed. However, many peers on my course do stay in halls and from their experiences this accommodation sounds amazing and they have no complaints!
The best accommodation I've found in Bangor." It's an student accomodation provided by university well organized and fully facilitated.
lovely staff members, very happy to help with any questions
I have lived in Llys y Deon for three years now and it’s been great. I have made friends for life living here. Not only is it in a great location in Lower Bangor but there is such sense of community. People always smile and say hello, if you need help there is something someone to lend a helping hand.
I'm here on my final year and it is honestly the best place I've stayed in so far. Furthermore, the best accommodation of living in Bangor. Nice social room. I strongly recommend you live here compared to a house. Office staff are very polite and willing to help and any maintenance issues are solved very quickly.
I’m so grateful that I live in this accommodation with high level of safety, amazing quality, and the most important lovely staff when I wanna talking about them I’m speechless. Especially, The gorgeous Rhian with her lovely smile and her positive energy. Naithan, Yasmin, Natalie and Sam you guys have making the tough journey much easier and enjoyable
Dean St, Bangor LL57 1US, ..very good 😊
never felt short of support from that staff if needed, internet is perfect for students and is fast and reliable and well maintained. large table to work with when studying and working as well. For students who are studying Electronic engineering or computer science, the main building is litterally less than a minute of walking which is really great. laundry and the bins are always available which is fantastic rarely if ever crowded. A few super close supermarkets close by (marks and spencer / aldi) however the bigger ones (asda and morrisons) are around a 15 min trip walking - so consider this first before booking since all the bills are included this offers a complete hassle free experience to focus on studies.
My name is Faisal and I am a Bahraini student who currently lives in the Llys Y Deon accommodation. Like many other students, I selected this accommodation and I didn’t know how it would turn out when I arrive. Luckily, this accommodation has exceeded the best case scenario that I had in mind, especially due to the hospitality of the management team (Dan and Natalie) who helped me even outside the accommodation aspect. I usually don’t write reviews but I decided to do it for them.
Llys Y Deon ticks all the boxes. Affordable, clean, accessible, and well maintained. You’re just a few minutes from anything you’d need in a pinch. With Aldi just over the road, shopping without a car is no issue. Bangor uni is just a few minutes away as well! (Even closer than it is to the halls, might I add). With cleaning services and regular maintenance on the property, any issues are resolved in days at most. 24/7 warden service means that if you have an issue, no matter what time it is, you’ll be looked after. Wifi and Ethernet is smooth too, and the staff are very hands off with what you do so long as you’re not disturbing others or damaging property. 9.5/10, already rebooked.
Modern, private (if you want it to be)! Lots of room types available, lovely staff and cleaners who are really helpful and efficient. Makes Bangor a more enjoyable place and its right next to town
