Nice place for student to live.
It’s a good uni and good people
Renowned for its beautiful gardens and green spaces, the University of Reading's stunning architecture and rich cultural diversity contribute to the timeless charms of the city of Reading.
Perfect sized uni meaning it's not too overwhelming (especially important when this is your first time living away from home). Campus is beautiful with lots of green space and buildings are an ideal distance apart. Very warm community with plenty of opportunities for getting involved with uni activities.
As a Real Estate student at Henley Business School, I am privileged to have state-of-the-art facilities at my disposal to experience. During the welcome week, freshers have already been encouraged to send an application as an intern at Savills! The Student Union and Clubs/Societies are easy to navigate and are welcoming; there are so many choices of clubs for everyone!
Great uni, love every minute of my time here!
Very good uni with lots of opportunities in sports and societies.
Awful university. Lecturers couldn’t care less and you are lucky if you can get on the modules that you want to do
Provides an acceptable university experience. I feel lectures could be more engaging but on the whole I am satisfied with the education level being provided
I have throughly enjoyed my time at the University, being a third year and having started in Covid, I still feel like my time here has been fulfilled. Having joining some great societies where I have made lifelong friends
As a proud student of Reading university,I can’t recommend this institution enough. The exceptional faculty,word-class resource , and vibrant campus community have provided me with an unparalleled educational experience.Reading university truly prepares its students for success and is a shining example of academic excellence.
As an international student, I'm glad I chose University of Reading for their postgraduate law program. Top-notch professors, interesting module offerings, and a great campus to work from.
University of Reading is a great place to go with a beautiful campus and wide range of sports and activities tables in. Students union are very involved the students and also provides a great night out on the weekend and Wednesdays.
In my first year I have enjoyed everything the university has to offer. It would be even better if more university services remained open over the holidays as lots of students remain here!
The best university in the UK in terms of inclusivity.
Starting in covid times with many a lockdown, the university have been nothing but supportive. With help from finding a house in 2nd and 3rd year to career help when I’ve needed it! The facilities are great, i just wish they had a pool! But other then that, everywhere is always so clean and tidy and the attention to detail is always there
My experience at UoR is beyond my expextation
Lovely green campus, very friendly atmosphere, union is a good night out, lecturers really helpful.
I really love this uni, the accommodation is amazing and close to the main campus. The 24 hour library is a great facility and overall I would recommended anyone to come here!
Great, student-friendly place to study, with lots going on and good transport links to the capital.
UOR has a wealth of amenities and services that make it a welcoming and supportive place to study. The library and other study spaces are large and often open 24 hours to make room for all students to work and there are a range of places to eat and socialise. Moreover, it is one of the greenest campuses in the UK which makes the walks to 9am lectures that little but easier.
UoR offers a lot of services and more than enough support, especially for placements and internships. As an able international POC student, i have felt that most of my needs have been met. The distribution of students in my course was mainly white people and very few POCs. That goes for lecturers as well. The library had a quiet zone that I am very thankful for. The wifi is good and the seatings are abundant. The structures for a few modules that I took were ridiculously oversaturated with content. And some modules were assessed in a way that I thought was not appropriate with the teaching methods. But overall it has been okay. ** Take note that I enrolled when covid just started so a lot of my classes were online and it was very very hectic at the time, for everyone.
I'm an international student for context. Good place to study, very environmentally conscious which is a green flag. Campus is quite nice, got a Co-op and a mini Asian supermarket which is always good. Cant say much about the Careers dep, since I never really reached out, but they are definitely always happy to help. Can't complain much, the staff I've met have been very kind and friendly. Theres a small muslim centre that is meant to be a prayer house? Quite nice, could be bigger but cant complain. They do try to be as inclusive as possible, again, green flag, though this might not be the case course-wise, most buildings are wheelchair friendly. Overall, pretty good.
Good careers department who provide support if needed!! Great for cvs and checking applications :) and for application ideas and options!! Lovely campus! More inclusion for societies needed though. Especially for people nervous to join.
I really like this university. It’s been the first international i’ve attended and i am very happy so far!
I have loved my time here at Reading, although it is not a massive busy city (town) the uni has a lot to offer on its beautiful campus. There are hundreds of societies to join and be a part of, I have loved being part of football.
Reading Uni is located in a brilliant area. The careers team is super helpful when it comes to assistance in finding placements and postgrad roles. There are many modules that you can choose from on any degree and many module options are multi-disaplinary which is great for people not wholly decided on what to do after their degree.
University of Reading is the best in all,its a great learning institution that's welcoming to international students, the campus facilities and services gives room for international students not to feel away from home....the services and facilities are a put in place for students to get along in a short with the system in which the school operates. Its a great campus for international students!
The University has a stunning campus with amazing green space and wildlife and wide range of facilities and support.
Lovely green campus, the staff are always open to help!
Campus with lots of green space, lots of student areas and areas to socialise alongside cafes etc. Good student union - lots of campaigning from students and can easily get involved. Wide variety of societies.
Billiant University, a great campus and student services, theres always somewhere to study.
Overall it's a nice campus, I appreciate how much outdoor space and greenery there is. The interenet connection is very patchy though, no matter where you are. The library is always completely full, it's difficult to ever get a spot there even when it's quiet, I just don't really think it seems big enough for the amount of students here. The only other space I'm aware of is the lego building, and it's not very nice in there! Overall it's not an awful place.
The University of Reading has a beautiful green campus and active student union, which fosters a great sense of community!
Really enjoy my time at Reading. Good facilities, with a great careers service who offer many different workshops as well as one-to-one appointments to improve CVs and practice interviews. A very valuable opportunity.
I have enjoyed the societies and love the campus. The transport in Reading is great. I have always felt supported by my lecturers.
The University of Reading truly feels like it puts students first. There’s lots of support regarding future careers and mental health / disability. They were extremely thoughtful through the pandemic and aim to give every student a fair chance. The one thing that’s annoying is the unreliable wifi on campus, especially in the library which seems to be a dead spot. Also, despite the refurbishment of the library, there is hardly ever space to work there unless you book/get there early, which was difficult for a spontaneous worker like me!
I am graduating from the University of Reading and will be sad to go. The library, uni bars and walking around the green campus have been my favourite places and things to do on campus. I have felt supported throughout my time at University by my cheerleading society, the careers team who are brilliant and so helpful and on occasion the student union. I would especially like to mention the International Development department who are all phenomenal. Lastly big shout out for the continuing aim to be a completely sustainable campus !!
Its a decent university, but upper university management don't listen enought to the student body. The professors are generally good, engaging and care about the their students.
The University of Reading has great facilities for academic and societies to take part in. Having the lake on campus adds to the ability of the University to provide a relaxing environment.
Here at Reading, they have everything. From a peaceful, open and green campus to an excellent teaching staff and facilities. I love it here at Reading as they are very committed to improving Reading as a university and its outlook on the national and domestic ranking charts.
A really welcoming and peaceful university, with a beautiful campus and great lecturers too. The facilities are well maintained and everything you need is located on or around campus. The sports park is fit for purpose and there is a range of food options available on campus. The students union puts on really great events, which always goes down well with all students. The library is good but usually busy. There are other student study areas available.
I am in my second year at Reading University, and am enjoying my time here. A major positive is the campus itself; I'm all for greenery and the main Whiteknights campus is really lovely to walk around, either for classes or just to get some fresh air.
Excellent career and support services throughout the university. Gets you thinking about what you can do with your degree in the future.
An amazing campus with so many areas to relax in nature but also feel part of that city-like feel. Only a 10 minute bus ride away from the town centre that has loads of shop, restaurants and a great night scene. 10/10 recommend!
Beautiful green campus, the library is somehow still too small for everyone who wants to study there at busier times
I really enjoyed studying at Reading! The campus is beautiful and green, and the staff and students are really friendly. I got a lot of support from the careers service!
I enjoy the campus, it’s green and open. There is a food market every Thursday, and I always know where to go for those kind of events. A bit confusing finding more administrative information, but always someone helpful to ask around. Connection for mobile is bad at the library, but usually good wifi across campus.
overall good but could be improved
Fantastic experience, really enjoyed it
Decent uni. Provide all the necessities for you to excel in your course.
UoR is one of the most prestigious and influential universities located in The United Kingdom.
I love my university. I have an amazing set of lecturers and, course mates. The environment is also warm and friendly.
Amazing experience, good teaching quality
An amazing university with loads of facilities. The staff here is so helpful with your queries. University holds so many events/seminars which are fun, interesting and really beneficial for us. Loads of clubs and societies are there which are active and hold multiple events throughout the terms. The campus is huge, easy to walk around, incredibly green with so many scenic views (has a LAKE!) and bicycle friendly (with bicycle stands throughout the campus).
Amazing, great value for money, good campus and teaching staff
Good university. I Recommend it
Good environment for studies, happy I made a decision to study here.
The campus is amazing, with everything you need all in one place! The student accommodation is safe and clean and the grounds are also lovely especially in summer! The facilities are great and it is easy to find your way around campus with all the signs and even asking people where to go. Additionally, the opportunities you receive are great with emails sent to you daily. It really is a great university to attend.
Excellent environment and facilities
The campus is gorgeous, the lecturers are super helpful, the facilities are amazing there’s so many study areas and the library is large enough that even during exam periods you can always find somewhere to work. The campus night life is also really good from the twice weekly student union night club events to the near daily events happening in town it’s honestly amazing.
The university campus is a real highlight, mostly everything is within one campus. The students union really tries to help out its students as much as possible and the facilities are modern and up to date
the campus is very clean, the location is near london, a very peaceful town
University of Reading always stays on top of new and fun things that could excite their students. I love the way they incorporate everyone’s beliefs and values into the university culture. I feel respected and safe in the uni and don’t have one bad word to say about it.
I have completed both a 3 year undergrad in BioMed and a 2 year masters in Physician Associate studies at UoR. I have loved my 5 years here, with a campus including nearly everything you need, a busy town with everything else and with great transport connections to London and the rest of England or UK. Fab range of clubs/societies, good gym with lots of different classes. New library has a great cafe with lots of study space - some for groups and some private and silent areas for when you need to get an assignment done. I love how green the campus is in spring/summer, I regularly walk around the lake/Harris gardens/woodland areas. Helpful staff for math/statistics help and for careers/cv writing. Would recommend Reading particularly for science courses, I have worked in the original Biomed Hopkins lab and now the shiny new labs. All lectures are passionate about their research which provides interesting teaching and opportunities for dissertation, masters or PhD research!
One of the best place for international students to get familiar with studies and other curricular activities. The natural beauty of the premises will stay alive the students with the busy routine. Highly recommended.
Overall very good services provided
Being the year that joined in 2020 definitely made the experience weird, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here
I am a post grad student from the university of Reading. I believe the facilities in the university are top notch and has an amazing vide. But as a post grad student, there isn’t much to do around here since most of the student union and clubs are filled with undergrads .
This uni is really good, lots of activities to do and student jobs to work at whilst studying! However the careers service could be improved for some courses
With a beautiful campus and amazing services available, University of Reading is clearly one of the best places to study at in the UK!
Sports facilities need improvement
Great atmosphere with a range of events held and feel supported through the careers service on multiple levels.
It is a good university however food on campus could be better. All the cafes and shops sell the same brand of sandwhiches and snacks which are all expensive. There is one co op but all the lunch items are normally sold out if you dont get there in the morning. The library is really good and modern however (especially towards the end of term) finding a seat can be impossible. Again you need to arrive before 10am if you want a geoup work table. Other than this it is a great uni.
nice for a campus university -
The campus is great, my favourite part about the uni. Facilities are good, could have better sports facilities but for the size of the uni it is good. Welcoming campus
I don’t have much experience in societies, but reading is one of the best if not the best campus we have everything you need within minutes of each other
There is a sense of community being a campus uni, but it feels as though the university does not have its students best interests in heart and cares about profit more. The students union has a lot of passionate staff and are planning on making big changes, so they understand the areas they need to improve on.
Terrible food. Kkkkkkkmkk
Love the campus! Facilities are excellent and lots to do. Feels really safe (in evening and day), with a brilliant Union.
Great environment with plenty of green spaces
The University of Reading is extremely diverse in what makes it so great. So many different people, beautiful campus(especially in the winter which is a bit odd,) clubs and societies are really engaging and best of all, the student union! Most of the professors are really engaging and exciting("exciting" varying on your course of study as you can probably imagine.) 10/10 university
Great place, fun crowd and helpful people.
The university is perfectly adequate and reasonable. In particular I really enjoy the students union services and events.
Very attractive campus, lots of facilities, a variety of societies and good student support through academic tutors and other support staff.
The university is wonderful, the staff are so knowledgeable and are always there to support you. The campus is also really beautiful and not far in relation to the town centre and the station. Perfect, I would say
Everything is very well thought of and easygoing. Im happy to be here
Nice uni. Love all of the green spaces and the newly updated library
Currently in 2nd year and can’t lie I’m wanting to move into halls 3rd year. Despite my first year one wasn’t the best I’m looking forward to big kitchens and being closer to friends, lectures and my job on campus
I picked this university due to the size of the campus and how easy it was to get around. It’s still fairly big but also small enough where you won’t get lost. It has many green spaces and during summer it’s really nice to work outside. The library is quite small and get extremely full during the week so sometimes it’s hard to find a spot to study
The university is a safe space for international students - with well equipped facilities in terms of classrooms, laboratories, library and more, it is one of the premier institutes of learning in the United Kingdom.
Made some friends for life, I feel supported by my department (politics) and the campus is beaut
The university campus is amazing and the staff really takes care of the students and their needs.
Brilliant environment and community. I love the campus. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. It has been a great 2 and half years so far.
It is a nice uni with an amazing campus
Great events such as Quiz and Karaoke, Unions and Society Balls. It makes living on campus so enjoyable!
the campus is beautiful and has a homely feel with lots of wildlife that is very calming ,however, i found that the nightlife was lacking and found it got boring and depressing at times. the only shop on campus is co-op which is expensive. if your flatmates aren't great it can be difficult to meet other people, my lectures made no effort in getting students to get to know each other so i found it difficult to meet new people in my course. overall i don't find it a very sociable/fun uni.
Love Reading university and it’s campus, overall it’s a great place to study in a great location.
Great campus lots of greenery good facilities
University is great, love the facilities.
