All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Depot Point is greatly situated and offers very nice student rooms and commodities. All the staff has always been very helpful and responsive throughout the year. I formed some great friendships in this place. It is the perfect place for a student interested in a year stay in London!
Great location and great staff!
I have to say this is the best accommodations I have ever seen
The staff are very friendly and patient. They will post Spring Festival couplets to celebrate with us on traditional Chinese festivals. Every day I live here I am happy and relaxed.
Depot point has very humanized management facilities, for example, it can help the students who haven't checked in to take the express to the room in advance. Under the influence of this year's epidemic, a very flexible short-term rent policy was introduced to protect the interests of students. The geographical location is quite superior, surrounded by convenient supermarkets and scenic spots, and the indoor facilities are also very perfect. The service attitude of the front desk staff is also very good. Overall, it is considered that the cost performance is quite high
The people who work there are fabulous. Very friendly and always smiling. The location is also good, it is very near kings cross which gives you access to wide range of underground and National and international rail services. The maintenance is not very good, as an example the lift was not working for quite a long time before it was finally repaired. There are few extremely minor problems about the shower tap and the door. However, after all the experience, the big kitchen, and relatively new indoor environment makes the accommodation very good.
The surrounding environment of the Depot Point is really nice, the transportation is convenient, and the distance of the bank and the supermarkets is also quite close. The staff are all very friendly and will help in time when we need help.
the staff are very nice, love living here

The service at reception is just great. Always love to chat with staffs!
nice The price of depot point is a bit high considering the current special situation. The location is fabulous, while there is no point to keep the price this high at this special time.
A very good student accommodation. The staffs here are quite nice
The staff are very nice and responsible!

Very bad accommodation. I had mould on my wall after some weeks and no one cared about it + frequent construction works on the opposite street + mostly unfriendly staff
