I've been living at AXO Student Living for a year and five months now, and overall, my experience has been satisfactory. The location is convenient, and the rooms are decently sized. However, there are areas for improvement. The laundry room could use more washers and dryers to reduce waiting times. A dedicated study area would be a valuable addition, providing a quiet space for students to focus. Additionally, an outdoor chill space, like a rooftop lounge or garden, would greatly enhance the living experience, offering a comfortable spot to relax and socialize. With these upgrades, AXO Student Living could become an even better choice for students.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

The accommodation is not well situated, the management is not really responsive and the staff is not always there when they should be. The room is also really noisy because of the location. Overall, it's really expensive for the way I feel treated and I live, I feel like it may have a bad impact on my health and school performance as well as the way I enjoy the city.
To me, Ethen & Milo have been the highlight of my stay! They have helped me with all the queries I had and have been incredibly supportive. Thank you for making me feel welcomed!
Help to provide a wonderful experience whilst i stay at AXO Islington. Front of desk staff were helpful and friendly and the facilities were fix quickly and reliable.
I moved to Axo in September and I’ve loved it so far! Staff is nice and rooms are perfect for students.
It’s a good accommodation at a great location, the cleaning service and customer service is really nice
Lived here for two years and loved it, I’m sad to be leaving. If anything I’d suggest a slight improvement with the maintenance as it can take a while to for jobs to be completed.
Standard accommodation, nothing special.
The rooms are a great size with good facilities, and the staff have been incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my stay. Would definitely recommend the accommodation to others.
It has been a pleasant experience living at Axo

Axo islington is now my second home, I love the place, the vibe and the overall culture. When I moved to London, I never thought I'd get attached to a place, but axo islington become one effortlessly
okay value for money, the space is regularly cleaned, location is great on a small high street with stores and transport in every direction. Perfect place to move to if you're new to the country as an international student as it comes well equipped. Building management is relatively responsive. More engagement is needed on the social side with more outreach and involvement of resident reps to involve people in activities. It can be lonely if you're new to the city.
Good location, good staff/facilities, nice vibe, quite expensive room checks are often cancelled.
I would have liked no problems with my room but im paying a lot and have encountered many. Apart from that I love it
This apartment is spacious, well-equipped, and conveniently located, but it comes at a higher rent. Ideal for urban living, but budget considerations are necessary.
The accommodation is definitely a great catch, you get really good amenities for a very reasonable price. The kitchens are cleaned every week which is the best part and not seen in other accommodations. It’s hygienic and a cozy place at a very good location! Must recommended
I have been at AXO Islington for nearly 2 years now and it has been great, it is clean, well maintained and social.
Good experience - maintenance is done efficiently.
Love the location and how many tube stations there are nearby. The building is very well managed and I’ve never had any problems
It is a very peaceful place to live. The rooms are spacious and kitchen are quite spacious. 100% recommend!
Had a lot of issues when I first moved in because they gave me a room I didn't book for - but Ethen solved it two weeks later. + Even though I had already paid the deposit, AXO didn't clearly inform me at all that I needed to pay the first installment before my arrival - basically didn't let me into my room if I didn't pay it, being an International student that really does put you in a very difficult position. If I hadn't had family here, there was no way I would've gotten my room straight after coming from Heathrow; don't know what I would've done. But otherwise, the staff are all lovely and the room's are good. The area is great for students and transportation links to central are definitely what makes staying here worth it. Would definitely recommend to a friend detailing on the positives and negatives (think the negatives points of what happened to me was bad luck to be honest).
Had some problems with the cleaning team. But otherwise I am happy at Axo islington.
I enjoy my life at AXO overall. The receptionist , Joy, is very nice and helpful all the time and assistant manager, Ethen, is also considerate and fast with any requirements. Cleaners used to be better and professional but cleaners we have now i feel they are getting a bit lazier. The events we have once a month are very nice for us to have opportunities to get to know our friends.
I lived in Axo Islington for 4 years while studying at university, and overall, I had a great experience. The accommodation itself was modern and well-maintained, with spacious and comfortable rooms. The common areas were also great for socializing and meeting new people. One of the best things about Axo Islington was its location. It was within walking distance to the university, as well as to many shops, restaurants, and bars. It was also close to public transportation, making it easy to get around the city. The staff at Axo Islington were always helpful and friendly, and any issues I had with my room were quickly resolved. They also organized many events and activities for residents, which was a great way to get to know my fellow students. One downside of the accommodation was that the wifi could be spotty at times, but this was not a major issue for me. Overall, I highly recommend Axo Islington to any student looking for comfortable and convenient accommodation in London.
Axo Islington is good however there were a couple of issues in the room when I first got there, and it took a while for management to resolve it, besides that it has been enjoyable.
I think Axo Islington is great choice, in September it was much cheaper than the equivalent gold standers rooms. You get all the amenities you would find in student accommodation. The location is great, Holloway Road has everything a student needs.
I love my living space and glad that I booked Axo. Make it a point to book it early on to get better rates!
Axo Islington is probably the best option when it comes to value for money. You get an en suite and a big room in a decent location with good transport links. The social life is be uninspiring, but if you're socially minded like me this isn't a problem as you can find people anywhere.
Good location, close to university. Very overpriced, some staff are pleasant. I have had many issues with my room, for example mold and leaking in my en-suite bathroom. I have not been offered any compensation and the issue still hasn't been resolved since it was raised a month ago.
I think Ethen is good manger, he solve problem fast and organise good events for us.
The advantages are staff clean the kitchen area daily and rooms on higher floors have a very good view outside the window. Facilities do have problems occasionally, though, and it takes more than 45 minutes to get to the university.
It’s a good accommodation with friendly staff. However, the cleaning can be improved.
Convenient and great location for my commute to university
Amazing staff! Felt safe in the building at all times! I would definitely book with them again!!
Great location with friendly and helpful staff. Overall, I’m grateful for the quality of service provided.
If this place was a 3/10, Ethan single handedly made it so much better. He was so helpful, he knew us all by name (which makes it all feel so homely), and would be the responsible friend managing everything. The other night guards were so strict it almost felt horrible staying here because of them. Being able to feel this accommodation as a home, is so important. Definitely need to get a farewell gift for Ethan
AXO Islington is a great student accommodation. I’ve enjoyed my time here and appreciate the helpful staff!
Made some excellent friends in such a short amount of time, reception staff (Ethen) absolutely lovely, help with any needs that need to be met.
Have made great friends and love where I live. Ethan at the front desk is very friendly and arranges lots of fun events.
The experience has been dreadful.
A great location super convenient Ethan is an extremely helpful manager and the people I’ve met here are amazing. Some problems with general appliances and cleaning but decent rooms for the price and great community. Come here if you want to meet a range of people.
Fantastic place with lovely people. Ethen is really nice and helpful and the cleaners are lovely too!
Absolutely love it, here for my second year and planning to rebook for the third year
really good value for money, spacious & overall clean rooms, wifi is super fast which is great for online classes, people at the reception are very friendly & helpful :)
Amazing customer service always providing the best help.
I’ve had a great experience so far, I really like the area and the staff. It’s close to my univeristy so it’s very ideal location for me.
really warm welcome, staff are happy to help with anything , good security 24/7, room was alot better than expected surrounding area has everything you need and everyone is really friendly!
Worst experience ever. Rude security. Awful cleaning. No heating for 3 months during winters coldest months. Very poor maintenance (some things I have reported at the beginning of my tenancy are still not fixed). Everyone that I have spoken to who lives here agrees with me. I didnt have running water for 1 month & couldn’t shower. The list goes on! This is been the poorest living conditions I have ever experienced. Disgusting and really feels like the biggest waste of money.
I can honestly say I cannot fault my experience with AXO. I moved in September 2020 so I have lived in my accommodation throughout two lockdowns which means that I have not yet had the chance to utilize the social spaces available. However every other aspect has been great, the reception staff are amazing and so friendly, the maintenance staff are great and are on top of getting things fixed. The studio is spacious with high ceilings and I dont feel like I'm living in a box, I would say that the laundry services are a tad on the expensive side, however this is great value for money.
Bloomfield Court is a great value for money. The rooms are just great - they are large and spacious and all of them are en-suite with a private bathroom. There is a maintenance team on-site so if there is something wrong, i.e. your light does not work, they fix it within a day. The location of the accommodation is very convenient because you have all the main shops on the road, from Waitrose to Morissons. Besides, the Bloomfield Court team is very friendly and it is a nice environment to live in and I was very happy to stay there for another year.
