The staff are lovely and super helpful which was nice (especially Sebastian and Ashik). The accommodation however just not worth what we were paying. We were being charged insane amounts to do laundry using machines that either didn’t work or did an awful job (clothes not properly washed and dryers not actually drying your clothes). It seemed like every week they required access into our flats to do some kind of maintenance. It was just ridiculous given sometimes we were told that they needed access the day of. The elevator was scheduled to be fixed within 12 weeks and construction started prior to Christmas break. The elevator didn’t end up getting fixed until mid/late March which is crazy. The hot water would decide not to work randomly on multiple occasions and the showers had mould issues. Having a survey asking if there is ever an appropriate moment to increase the rent is mind boggling given the current rent price is too high for what we are given. Overpriced but nice staff.

If you are studying at Royal Veterinary College then you’re in luck, as Mary Brancker House is exclusively for you and is only a twenty-minute walk from campus. Hampstead Heath, Parliament Hill and Camden are all within walking distance. Being located in Kentish Town means you have Camden’s world-famous market and nightlife right on your doorstep.
When wanting to catch up with friends, you can hang out in the common room and watch TV or play a game of pool or relax in the outdoor social space. There is a handy study room available to use when needing to focus on your studies.

It's really small and quiet, so you get to know a lot of people really well. Really friendly Staff.
Where do I start with this accommodation? When I first moved in, I thought that Mary B would be an amazing accommodation to move. I was wrong. The staff is great but the accommodation is awful, mold is everywhere in the bathroom which requires constant cleaning, Laundry machines take your money and don’t really clean or dry your clothes(Circuit has awful customer service), there is 0 ventilation in the room and maintenance leaves your room in conditions that’s not acceptable ( like leaving the shower on and door open when my drains was clogged). We luckily have had some good things like toasters and kettles being replaced quick. You can definitely live here, but when it’s time to leave you can’t wait. It currently summer and the rooms are unbearably hot and humid and since there no ventilation or ac you just have to fend for yourself. It honestly concerning that you pay money for a good accommodation only to have it be complete crap.

Property issues are not resolved in a timely manner. Maintenance staff were forgetful and in some instances caused more harm than there previously was. Internet can be up and down occasionally across my devices and go down for several days at a time. The laundry room is rarely fully optional. The dryers aren’t the best either, sometimes you need to do multiple cycles to dry one wash. The elevator in the building is more often down than it is running. There isn’t an appropriate study space as advertised. The heating in the room is not technically “controllable” as it goes off dependent on “appropriate” temperature. There is no fan or form of ventilation in the bathroom. Staff at the front are friendly and helpful, always willing to assist and answer any questions. Ashik and Sebastian especially are both welcoming, kind, and easy to talk to.

Elevator very often broken and takes weeks to fix. Other issues also slow to resolve (leaky ceiling in our flat has been months). For the price of almost 1000£ pcm per person for a flat of 4 to 7 people is an exorbitant amount for the lack of amenities and an aged property (no ventilation in bathroom, little fridge space, heating turns off quickly by itself which is a big issue in the winter at night, not enough washing machines). Social spaces much smaller than advertised. Wifi is OK, but was broken for a week which made studying impossible. Maintenance staff flooded some rooms by accident because they left the shower running. Ashik and Sebastian always very courteous and helpful. The problem isn’t the permanent staff.

It’s in a good location and the staff working here is very nice. Seb and Achik (hope I spelled that right) are super nice and attentive. Most of the problems come from the laundry and elevator issues. Also wish that we could be paired more based on which curriculum we are studying instead of random selection.

As a student studying abroad for the first time, I am glad I had a positive overall experience at residence. The building is in a convenient location for students and the common areas are in great condition. The staff are attentive and prioritize student safety.
