I stayed 3 years at Orion Point. My experince? Amazing. I felt really safe and surrounded by the kidnest team. I loved every minute! I truly belive that Jenna is the best receptionist and she is just amazing! She is very kind, friendly, funny and another plus, she is gorgeous too! š„°love her so much! I really enjoyed my stay at Orions point! Staff have been so welcoming and supportive! Booking was super fast for me. Thereās always someone to help at any hour of the day even from security staff. I particularly want to give a shout out to Kameron for his dedication shown in supporting residents. Iāve seen how he interacts with people including myself, itās always with a smile , friendly tone and genuine care for residents needs. From check in to check out, Iām confident that he has positively shaped the experience of students here. On a completely different note, I wanted to mention how thoughtful it is to be providing sanitary products in the common bathrooms nicely arranged. First time I have seen that. Also I believe Orion point is one of the very few accommodations that have loads of laundry machines to use. Iāve been in places with three blocks that have only five washers and five dryers.

I recently reported a kitchen hygiene issue to the reception , and I was very impressed by the prompt and enthusiastic response from Yalin. The housekeeping team Kim completed a thorough cleaning and disinfection within an hour. Their efficiency and professionalism were truly commendable. Iām very grateful for the excellent service.

I recently used the parcel collection service, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From start to finish, the process was seamless, efficient, and incredibly convenient. The booking system was straightforward and easy to use. I was able to schedule a collection at a time that suited me perfectly, which was a huge plus. The courier arrived right on time, which is something I truly appreciate given my busy schedule. The entire process was quick, and the driver was friendly and professional, ensuring that my package was handled with care. What stood out the most was the real-time tracking feature. I was kept informed every step of the way, from the moment my parcel was collected to when it was delivered.

The staff are amazing and I had a wonderful experience with customer service (I nominate Jenna and Kamaran). The price for the accommodation was good for this year but unfortunately the price for next year has increased substantially and the flexibility of the accommodation dates of contract have become restrictive (accommodation is only allowed throughout the year instead of until July).

Jenna and Tyrese especially, have been the highlight of my time here at Orion Point. Jena has been hospitable, always kind, polite and ready to help, like in my flats many issues and concerns, where there were altercations in our flat that Jenna organized meeting for and helped stop and find solution to. Secondly, Tyrese has always been top class, very chill, and easy to communicate with even in Face of big language barriers. He is visibly adept in being patient, thoughtful, considerate and proactive. Two times that come to mind is once where I left my bedroom window open and 3 hornets entered my room, Tyrese he bravely risked his well being by killing the big hornets in my room without hesitation. second time, I was downstairs at night when I witnessed Tyrese calmly deescalate a fight. All in all, Jena, Yousef and Tyrese have largely contributed to making Orion Point the safe and peaceful place that it is, a place where students voices are heard and students are well represented.

Orion point was definitely a big upgrade to my last accommodation! I am really enjoying my stay here and thereās not many issues or problems except maybe for included cleaning services at least once a week would be beneficial

A calm place, very close to my University, with a food store and multiple cheap eating out options right across the street. The rooms are very spacious And modern for a dorm. The staff is incredibly pleasant and helpful. Wouldnāt plan on getting any serious cooking done, as the kitchen has a couple problems (mainly fridge space for the number of people and very weak hobs that turn themselves off after 20ish minutes). The building has its own gym.

Orion point overall is a comfortable and reliable place to live with great benefits outside the standard rooms. The gym is a massive draw and the recent 24/7 access granted is extremely appreciated and the building is in a great area of Southampton for getting to town or other important locations to me. The members of staff that I engage with (special mention to Genna and Mandy) are very friendly and a great conversation, you feel you can actually be relaxed within the building, and I know they work extremely hard. While my experience has overall been positive, I do have some negatives. Iāve lived in this building 2 years in a row and things like the gym equipment and the B block lifts have never been fixed which is frustrating when these are highly used and important areas of the building. I also think the building is stupidly hot, with no ventilation or windows in the flat hallways, itās just an oven during the summer. Overall, still a positive experience here.

I have been living in Orion Point for two years now, and I can honestly say that it is the best place to stay for students. The staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests or issues. The environment is great, with many facilities and amenities to make your life easier and more fun. There is a gym, a study room, and a cinema room where you can relax and socialise with other residents. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with everything you need to feel at home. The location is also convenient, extremely close to the university (I can wake up at 08:50 for a 09:00 lecture), and the city centre is a 5-minute walk away. I highly recommend Orion to anyone looking for a quality and affordable place to live while studying. Another great thing about Orion is that parking is available for residents with cars. Living here has been great, the community has been very welcoming and supportive. Everything gets fixed immediately and the incentives we get is awesome. I have loved living in this safe and secure accommodation as well as getting freebies by the staff !

Where should I startā¦. If you live in B block expect there to be only 1 working lift- when the second one does get fixed- 6 months later it will just break again and again and again. Also if you live in B block expect it to ALWAYS smell like rotten food and the disgusting bins. I havenāt had the best time at Orion point however, if you are an international student it would be more suitable than someone who is a UK resident- you do not meet as many people as you would going to Halls and it feels quite lonely here. Another point is that the front desk isnāt that useful, if you have a problem they prolong the solution or do not attempt to fix your problem you are having- I do not see the point in their job when the half a** it in the first place. If youāre having problems in your flat they do not attempt to help or even try to move you rooms and just say they canāt do anything about it. Finally itās over priced for what it is and you can find better for the money.

I have had the most amazing experience. The team have always been so warm and helpful, particularly Jenna. Any maintenance issues have been resolved swiftly & maintenance workers have always been pleasant. I loved my room of 2 years & will miss it very much! The only concern I had was the number of times the hot water went out this year but I am sure this has been resolved by now! Thank you for an amazing experience!

Noise: there are very thin walls which caused problems between me and my flatmate as they just constantly kept banging on my wall even though i'm whispering at times. Secondly, hygiene, my flatmates weren't cleaning the kitchen and left everything to me to clean and when i went to complain about it to staff they said i had high expectations and we all come from different 'cultural' backgrounds - in essence they used my heritage against me and then they argued against me with my flatmates when it was meant to be a fair and non-sided meeting, on top of the fact that my initial complaint was meant to be anonymous, yet they exposed me to my flatmates which is against their policy and i am yet to receive an apology about it. Third, internet, the WiFi used to be really bad at night so they told us they need a week to fix it - they didn't and now its worse. Fourth, Water just cuts out on a regular basis now?. Fifth, only one out of two the lifts work (for a while now).

the reception is very friendly The free gym is lovely facilitated But the kitchen is a totally disaster when I check in When I check out, the reception told me to clean it up which is not fair

We are sorry to hear about the situation with your kitchen but as we do not provide kitchen cleans this is a shared responsibility with yourself and flatmates to maintain this area. We do have a housekeeping team onsite who carry out monthly kitchen inspections and to also help guide everyone in the right direction to keeping their communual areas clean and tidy. the lifts break down all the time - I can't say im particularly happy to come back with heavy bags of shopping to realise I gotta climb up 6 flights- or 12 since theres 2 sets of stairs per floor. I suppose its a good job the gym here is free- so I can get in shape and build up stamina for just this situation.

Staff are super friendly and help you with anything! The rooms size is perfect , kitchen has everything you need. Overall great place to live compared to other uni halls in soton.

Great furnishing, love the rooms. Everyone was very friendly, not in the nicest area of Southampton but the halls itself have a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend them, also great for nightlife as you can walk everywhere.
Too far away from uni - takes an hour to walk, or 5/10 mins to the bus stop & then 40 mins on the bus. Although it's nearer to the city centre and Bedford place for nights out, St Mary's is a poverty stricken area of Southampton with a high number of poor, homeless, multicultural, drug & alcohol behaviours. The halls are nice but the bedrooms and ensuite are small (single bed), and can be a very lonely time if you do not get on with your flat mates.
