The rooms are pretty big and decently equipped it’s a right on campus so you can easily reach everything you need but the social space is literally just 2 sofa’s with a coffee table in the same room as the kitchen and dining table there’s nothing to be social with in the room just the sofas. I always have good wifi connection apart from when there are issues which we are notified of are and usually fixed same day pretty quickly.
Generally a great uni accommodation, I cannot fault it for anything as was great value for money and the space was plenty!
The accommodation that I am at is very good and a lot better then my one from last year, the maintenance is great and the value is well

The rooms are not great but they are adequate, very basic. I was in court 2 and it was very run down. Half way through the year our boiler broke, ceiling gave in and we had to move out and to st marks for 2 months. We were left without hot water and any communication for over 24 hours before being told we had to move out. We were told to move everything important and getting very little help with moving to a location which is around a 15 minute walk away. Our compensation for this was a £20 just eat voucher. For having to move out for 2 months and move all of our things, along with being merged with another flat who where complete strangers
Accommodation has a variety of problems that maintenance have to keep repairing, i.e. The front door not closing, kitchen taps not turning off, heating and electric coming and going. Our particular flat also has a silverfish infestation and one cupboard is overrun by a moth nest. The only brilliant thing about living in Courts is the security. They are really kind/supportive of a potentially scary situation. Each of them are available anytime of the day and are so respectful of any problems you encounter.
The accommodation walls are usually very thin, so, I can hear my room-mates singing or slamming doors very loudly and because of that I can't sleep very often, even in the years before that, even if the roommates were nice, sometimes I can hear them even if they didn't talk too loudly and it was very annoying and the accommodation services aren't that helpful either because it takes a while for them to actually help properly.
I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone. It is the oldest accommodation in Lincoln. Therefore, if you stay in Courts 1-4, the window pane is singular and have gaps under them, rooms are very draughty. You can hear everything especially the TRAINS! I could not sleep for weeks. The staff are at the other end in the Cygnet Wharf reception and are rude and unhelpful. The '24 hour security' is non-existent. Cleaning is left to students so often kitchens are dirty and there are no social areas. Only the kitchen area in each flat serves as a place for visitors/residents to socialise. It is random who ends up in each flat and I had nothing in common with my flatmates and was left feeling isolated and uncomfortable living there. Anyone can visit and guests were often left in the kitchen unattended, so I did not feel comfortable walking in there as, they we'e were strangers to me. The internet is bad too!
To be honest Lincoln courts has been a nightmare. When we first arrived there were multiple broken communal items, and more have been breaking over time. The sofas have rips in, the lights where coming off the kitchen ceiling. Oh yeah... the microwave and kettle decides to stop working when it wants. Not to mention the silverfish infestation in our bathrooms. However I would say the worst thing about courts is the attitude of maintenance staff. Personally I work night shifts and would appreciate if maintenance would Not enter if I have asked this. I even woke up to a member of staff doing work in my room whilst I was sleeping after a night shift - not fully clothed! However my messages have been ignored and staff enter when they please- a total breach of privacy. I wonder if they would feel the same if I wandered into their homes as I pleased? If you value your privacy I DO NOT recommend Lincoln courts. Cleaners which hang about outside courts have also been very ‘suggestive’
I do really love Lincoln courts, great little student village and easy to meet new people. Definitely better than what other reviews make it out to be
Experience depends on largely who you meet. There is no tv which every accommodation has, I called maintenance for an issue and 2 months in nothing has been fixed. The rooms are small but okay. The location is very close to uni so easy to get to uni but depending on how close you are to cygnet wharf it can take quite long to get to high street.
Absolutely disgusted by my experience here so far, my room is riddled with bed bugs and all the accommodation services did was change my mattress and a half arsed fumigation, which clearly hasn’t worked since I am still getting bitten, ive also found and seen many silverfish coming up through the plug hole and eating bits of carpet. Disgusting
The biggest issue with courts is that everyone pays the same, regardless of what court you're in. If you live in 1-5 or 13-17, great value for money! If you live in 6-12 however, you're getting ripped off. The rooms are smaller, the desk space is laughable, and the showers aren't even height adjustable, they're fixed into the eall, so if you're tall you'll have issues. In addition the kitchens are tiny in the smaller buildings as well, making it difficult fur everyone to be involved in social events. I genuinely think the smaller buildings should cost less because you are getting less.
Flatmates were horrendous, uni was pain sorting stuff out no cold water
Absolute pathetic excuse of 'internet connection'
Great experience, would have not been the same without living here!
Best way to meet new people at university and is cheap and close to uni
One of the most expensive Accomodations in Lincoln and completely not worth it. I would recommend going for the cheapest Accomodation that the university offers because you get special offers such as gym membership ect. Other Accomodations have TV, better wifi, double beds and overall they are a better value for money. The maintenance of the area is of a low standard and for what you pay you really really do not get your money's worth. Plus you never get a decent nights sleep ever.
You'll get the best social experience here!
Not a bad place for first years. Had a great year. The rooms are a little dull at first but we're allowed to put posters up, hang lights and really make it our own. Very basic rooms with en suite but great value considering it's so close to the Uni. The kitchen is my court (Court 14. Part of phase 3) is lovely and large. Great for communal events. A nice lounge around. And some flat time! Downsides include the cleaners who are very lazy, to early morning fire alarms 2x a year at least. But apart from that it's great. A real community spirit. A laugh and memories you won't wish to forget!
Internet was not great kept going and the coming back
I love living in courts so much! such a friendly atmosphere and you meet so many great people all in first year too! The bedrooms aren't the biggest but they still have a lot of space with storage and decent bathrooms. I will never forget my time in courts and I wish I could live here for my whole 3 years!
It's alright I guess, just a tad expensive and rather noisy
Overall my stay has been good, doesn't look that appealing but gets the job done of living
The location is ideal and the wifi is pretty stable, but the common room is lacking
A bit basic but thoroughly enjoyable
When I went to see my accommodation on an applicant day I was impressed but when I arrived, the kitchen and living area was significantly smaller than the one I had previously seen, other than that it's alright, basic and clean
Only good thing is the location.
Only fault for courts is the showers giving you a 3rd degree burn to then giving you frost bite every now and then
tad overpriced but lovely accommodation!
All first years, minutes from main buildings, friendly staff.
Met the best friends I've ever had in courts, even managed to find myself a girlfriend! Awesome place, and amazing times.
I had a great time. Wasn't any cleaners in your flat. Maintenance were always on call and security was very helpful.
Great location to access the Uni and the City, however a little expensive for what you get.
Good sized rooms and living area close to the Uni and surrounded by fellow students
i met one of my best friends living in Lincoln halls. Although the rooms weren't huge or very homely, it was great having an en-suite and the kitchen area was reasonably sized. There are no cleaners for the flats, only for the corridors, but I actually felt this was better as it encouraged us to clean up after ourselves and meant we didn't feel pressure to have the flat spotless at all times, as I've later found that having frequent cleaners means they report you if your kitchen is anything less than spotless. The location is great, only a 5-10 minute walk from main campus (depending on your course), 5 minutes from the uni doctors and 10-15 minutes from town. I really enjoyed my experience here .
Waste of money, ant, wood lice and silverfish infested with useless management
