Sky Plaza Biography
Sky Plaza is the second tallest student accommodation building in the world and is located a mere five-minute walk from the Leeds Beckett campus and a fifteen-minute walk from the University of Leeds. You’ll never be at a loss for things to do as the city centre, as well as Leeds O2 Academy and the First Direct Arena, are all a stone’s throw away.
The accommodation is equipped with all the bells and whistles, such as a gym, cinema room, communal study area, outdoor social space, and common area with free ping-pong and pool tables. For your benefit, there is onsite a vending machine and laundry facilities with some rooms having in-room washer-dryers.
Sky Plaza has a range of elegantly designed en-suite rooms, studios and one-bedroom flats to choose from. Each room comes furnished and has its own private bathroom. Both the studio rooms and one-bedroom flat are equipped with a private kitchen, whilst the en-suite rooms share a kitchen and lounge area with flatmates.

Amazing accommodation and having a great space to work and socialize has been ver y valuable to as an introvert. Also easy buying groceries from Morrisons taht is so close is fabulous!!

The air conditioner has problem that it can’t heat. I reported on September 22, three weeks past, but it hasn’t been fixed now.

As a student at the University of Leeds, I’m delighted to have chosen Sky Plaza as my dormitory. Living in a studio here has been an absolute pleasure. The location is perfect, with the university and city centre just a short walk away, making transportation and shopping super convenient. The studio is spacious, especially compared to other accommodations in Leeds, and it comes fully equipped with everything I need, including a private washing machine—a huge plus for someone like me who values cleanliness! The quiet and comfortable living environment provides the perfect space to study and relax. What stands out even more is the exceptional service from the Unite Students Team. The reception staff are always friendly and welcoming, and I have to give a special mention to the manager, Bruno. He’s an outstanding leader who goes above and beyond to help students with any issues or offer advice. My time at Sky Plaza has been filled with wonderful experiences!!!

The apartment did not provide hot water to the tenants throughout the day as promised in the contract, but only provided hot water at 7 o'clock in the morning. It has caused great inconvenience to the tenants' lives. In addition, the staff at the apartment had a very bad attitude after receiving complaints and did not deal with the problem. What's more serious is that the elevators in the apartments often don't work, the ceilings leak, and there are also water outages throughout the day. For the above-mentioned problems, even after receiving the complaints, they have not been completely solved. It has been several months since then.
The complaints regarding Sky Plaza are backed by videos and screenshots, and there are more than just these four issues: 1. The apartment has failed to address the hot water problem for all residents for a prolonged period, leaving no place to shower, severely disrupting daily routines. 2. The apartment's renovation noise is excessive, and the more they renovate, the more problems arise within the apartment. Staff responses have been evasive. 3. The apartment door is broken, and despite being told to contact the 24-hour front desk downstairs, staff have not been responsive, even after two attempts at 10 PM. 4. During the early hours, the elevator stopped at my floor but didn't open for half an hour. When reported, the staff said they would arrange for repair, but no action was taken, and there were no measures to temporarily suspend the elevator for maintenance.

There has been no hot water for more than half a month, and the front desk has not solved it at all. The elevator broke down for a long time and was not repaired. Now there is still a problem with the elevator. My friend was trapped in the elevator last week and was told that the engineer would not arrive for an hour.

There has been no hot water at sky plaza, forcing residents to take cold showers every day. The elevators are often broken, and some of the reception staff are unfriendly and possibly racist. The front desk refuses to accept deliveries from Royal mail.
It's a rubbish apartment, the elevator is always broken, and it's very scary for people to be trapped in it and not be able to get out. There is no hot water supply every day and I have to take cold showers. The front desk engages in racial discrimination and only delivers packages to white people without paying attention to other races, and this applies to both black and white employees!

Sky Plaza is located near every big social hub in the city, with the universities only a few minutes away. The staff are extremely helpful and prompt, and the rooms are some of the most spacious ones I’ve seen.

My room and kitchen were dirty when I checked in. The toilet was leaking. Maintenance takes 2 weeks to sort your issues.

I love here, the location is brilliant
Maintenance issues take forever to get fixed at all and reception staff are unable to do anything other than flag the problem as priority. Unless the manager is informed, broken things will stay broken for months
Everything is well , But the refrigerator in our apartment is broken and we haven't solved the problem for a long time. In addition to this, Everything is nice and cozy and convenient

It’s been a pleasant experience living in Sky Plaza. The location is good, but the wifi is sometimes unstable.
The location is the best in leeds, which is at the between town centre and uni. The common room is big and fantastic. It is also a good place to live.

Staff useless most of them are pretty moody but there are some helpful ones. The laundry is overpriced we’re students laundry should be cheap or free. The gym is tiny . The vending machines don’t work for certain items and no one seems to care enough to fix them. The lobby’s full with drunk people on weekends,THe maid is f****** USLESS she just check that nothing is broken and leaves.U pay a lot 4 a little other building are way more affordable and offer bigger rooms. My room is tiny the bathroom has no drainage so I have to mop the floor after I shower . The water cut off in the building for like 3 days. The elevator was broken the first 3 months so we had one elevator for 18 floors.the fire alarm test is done weekly it will wake the s*** out of you then you need walk down 17 floors. The internet is pretty good and the study area is a 10/10
Overpriced, disgusting. Stay away!
Good accommodation in terms of modernism. But overall was a terrible experience. Didn’t feel like I was at a university halls; was boring, quiet, nothing ever happened. Had to travel all the way to mill street to have an actual good time. Wish I didn’t stay there. Was awful
