Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
I would say Tribeka is the best place to stay in Leeds if you are either studying in Leeds Beckett Uni or Leeds Uni. It located opposite a huge supermarket (Morrisons), just cross the street and you'll get access to all the groceries you need. Its value for its price too, me and my friends are staying in a 6ppl flat. We had lotta fun staying together. Would definitely recommend others to stay here in the future. If I were to say something that isn't great, it is the wifi/internet. The wifi sometimes went off unexpectedly and phone signals are always around 2-3 bars. Overall, this place is a really strategic student accommodation to live in!!
A good experience overall. I particularly like that it's located very close to the city centre and many shops and restaurants, meaning I don't have to go anywhere very far for grocery shopping. This makes it very convenient for me.
Had a great experience staying at tribeka. The location is awesome and the facilities are great. Really enjoyed staying here in my third year.

Tribeka is a good place to live with a great location, however issues that are not basic maintenance related take a long time to be resolved
A great accommodation for first year or even following years if a house isn’t for you. It is very clean and well ran, support at reception always available staff are very helpful. Has a good gym and room available for dance/yoga. Is in an amazing location very central, close to supermarkets, many weatherspoons and cafes.
Staying at Tribeka has been an incredible experience, and I genuinely believe it deserves its 5-star rating. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and community, making student life so much easier and more enjoyable. I haven't had anything else but wonderful times at this accommodation thus far from September 2024. It is conveniently located next to shopping centres which allow easy grocery shopping and very close to university campuses. The staff are extremely friendly, sorting out any issues within minutes if any arise and are welling to aid with any help. They also hold seasonal events which the residents of the accommodation together bringing a wonderful environment to live in and make friends. There are social spaces where you can invite friends or family over to have fun, from experience bringing any friends or family over to Tribeka puts a genuine shock on their faces on how good this accommodation. I would highly recommend this accommodation for those who are looking
the accommodation is newly made, and all the tenants have been complaining since day one that rooms are very cold, there has been sort of cost cutting by not having proper insulation in the room. The windows have an air leak, which also aids to the experience of having chilly rooms. The floor of the room, kitchen and hall way have wood pattern, but in-turn its not actually wood, its vinyl flooring, which is firstly very cold as it is directly stuck on to the concrete, secondly very difficult to clean, and thirdly catches stain very easily. The chair that has been provided in the room are of very cheap quality and as student makes the desk area un-usable for studying (and the management denied giving a better chair). The communal area is poorly designed, as their is no washroom, which makes it very difficult to use the study room, there no dustbins in the communal area, the vending and coffee machines are never working. The weekend security staff is completely useless.
Great accommodation under every point of view. Will definitely stay here also next year!
Good, just washing machine is costly
Very good environment for students within and outside the property. So many social spaces like cafe, gym, games room, communal kitchen, and study area to spend time alone and make memories with friends. Perfect location, I literally have a quick run to Morrisons and Tesco right next to the property almost everyday. I love it.
The accommodation is a little on the pricer side, but it's perfectly built for the modern student. Great wifi all over the building, multiple sockets in easy access areas for device usage, multiple kinds of lighting in each room and a nice big desk for studying. They also have a gym, multiple social and study spaces, and a range of different flats. It's literally 3 mins from my university and is within range of everything I could need. Definitely the best student accommodation in Leeds.
Amazing accommodation, extremely satisfied and happy that I picked it.
Accommodation Review Living here has been a great experience. The location is convenient, the rooms are well-maintained, and the amenities make daily life comfortable. Management is responsive, and the overall environment is enjoyable. While there are minor drawbacks, they don’t overshadow the positives. Definitely a solid choice for anyone looking for quality accommodation! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)
gorgeous accomodations and great value for money. in a perfect place with a disco spoons, walkabout, morrisons, tesco straight out the door and trinity just down the road. great place for students and not far from the universities at all. would highly recommend
Tribeka is such a nice modern accommodation, with one of the best locations out of all the student accommodations in Leeds. It’s right by the large morrisons (the main food shop most students go to) and right by all the fast food places perfect after a night out. It takes me about 10-12 minutes to walk to my lectures as I’m at university of Leeds but for Beckett it is only a 5 minute walk! The gym is so nice and the roof terrace and games room is super fun. Really recommend, the only downside is if your looking for a more social/lively uni experience Tribeka is a little more quite as it’s mainly international students and 2nd/3rd years, however they put all the first years in the same flat so I still had to social/party uni experience!
Wifi is not good.hhhhhhhhhhhhhh
As a student living at Tribeka in Leeds, I’ve found it to be a great choice, especially for its location and social atmosphere. It’s close to campus and the city center, making it easy to get to classes, shops, and nightlife spots. The rooms are well-equipped with a comfortable bed, desk, and plenty of storage, and it’s nice to have everything included in the rent, from utilities to Wi-Fi. The communal spaces, like the rooftop terrace and gym, are perfect for relaxing or meeting other students. The security measures give peace of mind, and the option to pay in installments has made budgeting much easier. Overall, it’s a comfortable, convenient spot that feels welcoming and student-friendly.
We were the first to trust tribeka, but we paid the most expensive rent, which felt unfair and made us regret choosing tribeka early, because the later we booked, the cheaper the price.
The management always take things seriously and get things solved in fast pace. I really love that. Active approaches are good despite some noise disruption at night due to party around.
