Bins always take. Out for us, however had issues with silver fish throughout the year. No common room, so not much socialising but everyone was friendly.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Genuinely quality. Was the accom I applied for and was just really good. There is an infinite rabbit glitch outside the window in spring as well.
Love it here. Amazing social life, on campus so it’s a perfect location. Rooms are nice, loads of wardrobe space
1 sink between 9 people however a very social accommodation could add a few more washing machines tho
Great location in terms of it being on campus, however many people make friends in first year with the people on their course that they walk to uni with so it may be more difficult in that respect. I didn't find people on my course in my accommodation so this was a problem for me. There aren't any common rooms or social meeting places but kitchens are roomy enough for pres and the grassy area outside is used for socialising. Subwardens weren't much help but there weren't too many issues that required them. You can only collect parcels and visit reception at certain times of day which wasn't a big issue. A big disadvantage is there's no where to park; you can't use the car park and the road opposite is always full. If you move in/out over Christmas/Easter/Summer it's a nightmare trying to find somewhere to put the car. The bins get emptied for you on weekdays and the stairways are tidied although all other cleaning is your responsibility. Overall I would definitely recommend!
Very close to engineering buildings but it really is just grotty overpriced rooms full of future smack head idiots.
I did not make friends at uni as there wasn't any opportunity and people are rude and arrogant. It was the most lonely experience I've ever had. Alot of stupid people actually so maybe I could thing I didn't make friends.
Really good, enjoyed my time there
Activities throughout the year being organised and all the needs have always been taken care of wether it’s a fault in the accommodation or it’s a request of an additional facility all with an affordable place to stay in
Everyone is jealous if you say you're from Henry Price for a good reason! Being right on campus means you can get up at 8:45 for a 9am, you're close to town, Headingley and Hyde Park. Maintainance has been fine! Things will break over time if they're constantly in use eg. The main light in my room died but it was fixed in a reasonable time and it' not broken since! Reception is only open a few hours a day but you can always pick up your post the next day! The staff are very friendly and good about things eg. If you lock yourself out etc Rooms are a good size. The storage is great! You get two big draws (by big I mean I fit in them) under the bed and room for another, a bedside cabinet, a big wardrobe, space above the wardrobe, draws and shelves by your desk. You are practically en suite but because its technically shared, it gets cleaned occasionally! Kitchen is sick for pres, group study when the libraries are full and just hanging out. As you don't need transport it's great value!
I can't rate this hall highly enough! Sure, it's a bit old, the reception is only open 4 hours a day and you have to share one sink and a kitchen with about 9 people. I've had issues with heaters twice now, but reception happily hand you a temp heater and fix it within 3 days. At the end of the day, this is uni accommodation, so it's never going to be perfect. The location is amazing and trust me, location is one of the most important things - I started the year at Lib Dock and the unreliable busses made it really inconvenient for me to join any socs, or meet up with friends in Headingley. Additionally, the hall is really good value for money to begin with, but being on campus itself means you don't have to spend much on transport. I think that having 9 people in your flat is perfect, because the chances are you'll get on with at least one of them. There's lots of storage space, big wardrobes, and sharing with only one other person is basically an ensuite.
If you want a reception that only opens for 4 hours for a day and only 5 days for a week, this is the right hall for you. They also have terrible terrible maintenance service. My shower hasn't been working properly 2 months now. I've reported this issue properly for several times throughout these two months. 2 maintenance guys came on different occasions to fix the shower many days after I had reported the problem. The shower is still yet to be fixed till now. The Henry Price Reception is even worse. Did I already mention that it opens for 4 hours a day and only 5 days a week??????? Many of my parcels were sent back to the local delivery office because of their inflexible working hours. In case of emergency, I guess you really have to be dying in order for them to get off their bottoms and attend to you. Terrible hall service but good location, very close to Uni. The negatives definitely outweighs the positives.
- Cleanliness/Safety of halls not great -Location Perfect
Perfect for pres! Bedroom small but fine! Bathroom fine! Desk perfect!! Lots of storage! Sociable residences! Perfect location!
It was a s******, surprised I didn't contract anything
Wasn't my first choice but I'm so glad I got it. LOVE LOVE LOVED it
Good value for money, issues with broken parts of the flat weren't really dealt with by reception. Quite noisy and hard to keep clean as the flats are shared between so many people.
Quite a lot of fun, but no common room nor are the facilities cleaned as regularly as they should
So much fun, really lovely people - and it's all on campus!
Met some lifelong friends in this hall and it allowed for maximum sleep being so close to campus
Basically en suite. Lots of people around all the time
Really close to university, socially amazing loads of people you can talk to. However there are no common rooms and besides having the basic kitchen there's not much else to them
Great being on campus, but the overcrowding of flats and no common room meant the social life waned
