I’ve really enjoyed my time at the University of Huddersfield so far. The campus is modern, well-kept, and easy to navigate. The facilities are great – especially the library and the quiet study zones, which are a lifesaver during exam season. Lecturers are generally supportive and passionate about their subjects. I’ve found most of them approachable and willing to help if you’re struggling, though of course that can vary by department. I am studying nursing, and the course content is well-structured, with a good balance of theory and practical learning. Huddersfield as a town is pretty affordable compared to other student cities, and everything you need is within walking distance. Nightlife is decent if you know where to go, and there are plenty of chill spots to hang out with friends. Overall, a solid uni with a lot to offer – especially for the price. Would definitely recommend it to students looking for a friendly campus with good support and facilities!

Hi! Thank you for your review, it's great to hear you've had such a positive experience while studying with us. We're really pleased to hear that teaching and facilities have been outstanding parts of your experience at Huddersfield! We continually invest in facilities to meet student needs, such as developing the The National Health Innovation Campus, and remain dedicated to high-quality, inspiring teaching, reflected by our overall 'Gold' rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023.
Personally I like the University of Huddersfield for the small community feel. My course is smaller and this made it easier to make friends. I however, feel there could have been more support available for me when finding and applying for placements. Whilst I love the facilities and use them regularly, I have found it harder to be able to use them with changes to opening times which have come about in the past year.

Thank you for your review. We are especially pleased that you like the small community feel of our campus, which has the best of both worlds for our thousands of students, without feeling too big nor too small! Regarding opening times of facilities, please get in touch with us to discuss your concerns, as we don’t know what course you are studying. The Library is generally open seven days a week during term-time, and 24/7 during the main exam period; while the ActiveHud gym is open most of the day, seven days a week during term-time. Regarding placements, we have noted your feedback, and would like to also signpost you towards our support for students to find placements: https://www.hud.ac.uk/undergraduate/placements/ Most of the courses at Huddersfield include the opportunity to gain industry experience, and we're one of the UK's leading universities when it comes to integrating work placements into our courses. You can find course-specific placement email contacts here: https://students.hud.ac.uk/opportunities/careers/jobs/placements/ We also have a dedicated Careers and Employability Service, which supports all our current undergraduate and postgraduate students, and our graduates. I am a student at the University of Huddersfield and lived in Old gate this year. It makes me feel really good. Both the geographical location and the living environment are particularly good. Especially the nice sister at the front desk.
