I attend the Bristol School of Acting drama school, which comes under Plymouth's wing, but all of the above still apply :)
Cute little university that cares about their students needs and teaches well
this uni is a great uni to go to
Plymouth marjon is a great uni for those who do not fancy the big city unis
Very poor wifi signal, has been out of use for months now with no sign of it being fixed soon.
I enjoy my course at the uni but haven’t found any societies that suit me
Good teacher contact to support student
Family atmosphere and a great home away from home
University have a good student support system which are supportive:m. Most of the time lecturers can be extremely helpful.
Love it here. The atmosphere is amazing and everyone is so lovely. Marjon is brilliant and everyone should at least have a look here
My experience is really good at Plymouth Marjon. Great place to be.
I love this university with all my heart and I couldn’t be more proud to be here following my mother’s footsteps in the legacy of this great establishment.
I really like it soo much it’s a very good Place to go to.
I stayed in student accommodation on campus last year and I loved it! So handy being on campus
In terms of lectures and mixed in person / online learning there has been a good balance. There has been little support for students in terms of how to get a placement during the pandemic. There has also been good support when isolating with food packages being delivered. The SU has been extremely supportive, helping students with mental health, as well as putting on covid safe online and in person events where they can to ensure social interaction can be maintained.
Everything seems good - staff in SU super friendly but COVID means that normal experience isn't available to comment on. Uni has made good provisions in this time to ensure that we're still able to study and have some contact time.
Interesting because of covid but everyone has been lovely and we all share a community spirit and are pulling each other through in the times of the pandemic.
Really enjoying my time in first year even with the pandemic on. I live in an en-suite room in halls on campus that is quite spacious and clean with everything you could need. Everyone acts as a big family in accomodation too, looking out for eachother. Clubs and societies are mainly sports societies so can be a bit of an issue if you are not very sporty but it doesn't take away from the experience if you don't join a club/society. The campus itself is well equipped with a library that is open day and night along with up to date computers for editing work. it also has lots of pitches to play sports and many green spaces. The students union is very good and tries its best for the students by putting on covid secure events. (drinks are also very cheap) The only real issue I had, (which has now been sorted) was the internet not working too well but the helpdesk were more than helpful and looked into it within hours.
Marjon is utterly fantastic. Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff, amazing facilities. Would highly recommend
Great uni with caring staff and lecturers. Halls are clean and homely with everything you would ever need. Enjoying time here.
Staff are really approachable and lovely atmosphere
some sports clubs can be very cliquey and if you don't fit into those cliques, you'll soon find yourself leaving that club. logging into wifi wherever you move around campus will drive you crazy. online gaming is blocked.
Amazing university.. Everyone is so lovely and they all make you feel right at home
Very small community, which is good and bad. Good because people care and you get to know people well, however it can be gossipy... and in ways click especially with sports teams. Nevertheless student supporting is amazing, they do really support students and the lecturers do care as there are small classes and it can be in depth because you'll get to know them well. But if your lecturer does not like you, you maybe in trouble.
