Great experience I really enjoy the school
Great environment, great common room. Good Studio rooms.
Best than other accommodation and very affordable accommodation
UOB has an incredible campus! Some very impressive facilities! Lots of nature too.
Extremely lovely place to study!!

Great Amazing Place, Excellent Professors, Green & Vibrant Campus, Tons of Events & Chances to Socialise!!!
Incredible, lovely, welcoming Such a great uni
The wifi on this campus is sometimes disconnected. I don't know if it's like this all over the UK
The wifi isn't that good. The students are a bit weird. No one interacts with the professors or even answers questions, which is sad. Even when being directly spoken to, some students don't answer, which is really rude. Not the same atmosphere at all compared to Canadian universities where people are eager to learn, connect and socialise. When professors make jokes, no one laughs or even smiles. Professors don't even ask their students to be silent and let them speak over them during lectures. I had to email a professor for him to ask students to stop talking, but even then, all he said during class is, "Can you guys be quieter?" when he could've just asked them to be quiet, period. During group projects or small group discussions, no one even tries to participate. I'm not much of a talker or someone that raises their hand, but the situation is so bad here, that I force myself to participate for the sake of the professor.
The teachers are very warm and friendly, and the learning experience is very good, but the efficiency of the administrative department's handling of other issues (such as tuition fees) is relatively slow.
Perfect connection for studying and entertainment throughout my time here.
My university is perfect for anyone who is thinking of getting admission Or pursue master. It has good infrastructure and good studies

Tryly enjoyed the cultural experience and diversity and I enjoyed the variety of societies to join. I met so many new people through this and the social side of the u iversity suits everyone but if you are more introverted the university is also supportive of those
Really good uni and good social opportunities
This a very good university for education
Good however WiFi could be improved
Studying at the University of Birmingham as an international master’s student from Brazil has been an amazing experience. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported, which made adjusting to a new country so much easier. One of the best parts has been meeting people from all over the world and learning from different cultures and perspectives. Being a student ambassador has made my journey even more special. I love sharing my experience with new students and helping them feel at home, just like I did. The university offers so many great resources, from career support to fun social events, making it a fantastic place to grow both academically and personally. I’m grateful to be here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive university experience.
Lovely place to live as a student, especially as an international student. Have been here with Metalworks for 3 years and it's been extremely safe, reliable and pleasant. Stayed in a 5 room flat for first year (with amazing flatmates) and the following 2 in the bronze studio. Always warm and comfy in the rooms. Reception always have a solution for everything and maintenance is always swift. Highly reccomend to those looking for an extremely close, safe and reliable accomodation next to university.
The old Joe is the main attraction and the buildings are very pretty especially when it’s sunny
University also sometime WiFi not good
Excellent University with very little necessity for improvement.
Nice campus, close to city centre
UOB is a very good university and has great social aspects as well as education.
The room is clean and cozy, with complete facilities and attentive service. The stay is comfortable and quiet, with a beautiful environment, convenient transportation, and great value for money.
An incredible university to study at. Spending time on campus is an absolute joy!
Good experience good management
Amazing facilities and great support.
Eduroam doesn’t work Everything else is good
I love the uni and the staff at the medical school are amazing
.Living in my accommodation has been a mix of different experiences. It’s comfortable and convenient, especially since it comes with all the essentials like furniture and appliances, which makes daily life easier. One of the best parts is the social aspect—if you’re in shared accommodation, you get to meet new people and build friendships, but if you have a private space, it’s nice to have that independence and privacy. Of course, living alone can sometimes feel a bit isolating. Cost is always a factor. Shared places are usually more affordable, but if you want your own space, it’s definitely more expensive. Maintenance and management also make a big difference—if things are well taken care of, it makes life so much smoother. The location matters a lot too. Being close to work, university, or public transport makes everything more convenient, though central areas tend to be pricier. Overall, it’s been a mix of positives and challenges, but it all depends on personal preferences and
I joined the University after working a year in London to undertake a Masters in Data Science. The campus and facilities here are beautiful and I could not recommend the university more!
As a postgraduate student at the University of Birmingham, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here over the last couple of months. Doing a conversion course from a humanities degree to a computer science master's, I've had the opportunity to apply my prior social science and philosophical studies into theoretical and practical applications of AI governance. Furthermore, I've had the opportunity to take part in the breadth of societies that the University offers, from the South Asian Ensemble to Improv society. I highly recommend this uni to any potential applicants.
I have had a great experience at the University of Birmingham so far. As a master's student it can get quite lonely. However, at the Uni there are so many diverse extra curricular opportunities to get involved in from academic societies like politics and international development to drama societies like the pantomime society. There is a place for everyone which makes it easy to make friends and develop key interpersonal skills.
I am a current postgraduate student at the University of Birmingham studying Shakespeare and Creativity at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. The university staff are wonderful, and are very attentive to our needs and welfare. The support we receive from the University is very consistent and it always feels like we know who to contact if we come into any issues. The Institute is beautiful, and the main campus in Birmingham is very modern and full of amenities anytime I visit. I would certainly encourage any prospective students to study at the University of Birmingham.
As a current student at the University of Birmingham, I really appreciate the stunning campus, top-notch facilities, and the amazing multicultural atmosphere. The balance between academics and career support has been incredible for my growth. It's a great place to be!
I’m currently studying for my Master's at the University of Birmingham, and it’s been a great experience so far. The campus is beautiful, and the facilities, like the library and study spaces, are modern and well-equipped. The lecturers are really supportive and nice, and the courses are well-structured, helping me improve my skills and prepare for my future career. As an international student, I found studying abroad a bit overwhelming at first, but here at UoB, there are many opportunities to meet people and join societies through the Guild of Students, making my university life enjoyable.
As a current student at the University of Birmingham, I honestly have nothing but good things to say. I chose this University because of it's prestigious reputation (particularly regarding the pre-registration Physiotherapy program), and have been extremely impressed so far, both with the quality of lectures and practical experience that I am receiving, but also with the beautiful campus, and everything that there is to do outside of the classroom. There are many difference coffee shops and study spaces on campus that I love visiting with my friends, and I also really appreciate all of the green space on campus. As an international student, I have found public transportation very easy to navigate, and people on campus are also extremely helpful if I ever have questions or need help with anything. Overall, I would highly recommend the University of Birmingham, and am very happy with my decision to come study here.
The journey at the University of Birmingham has been nothing short of transformative. It all began in November 2023, with extensive research and determination. By the end of the month, I had secured my offer letter, followed by the prestigious India Chancellor Scholarship. Today, as the School Representative for the business school, I can confidently say that UoB has provided me with unparalleled exposure and opportunities to develop my skills. The supportive environment and diverse experiences have truly been instrumental in shaping my future. Every day here is about growth, learning, and adding value to myself. I am incredibly grateful for this journey so far, and I’m excited to explore what lies ahead. UoB has set the foundation for an amazing future, and I can’t wait to get started! If you are planning to join, can’t wait to meet you! 😊
Everyone is helpful. The syllabus is interesting.
The University of Birmingham is good in many ways, though in others it is admittedly lacking. Where it thrives in a strong reputation and good results, I do feel that it sometimes lacks in student support and organisation. The campus is lovely, sprawling, with green areas and a mix of older and more modern buildings. The facilities are good, with it's library, all the cafes, and of course the food options (albeit, often very overpriced food, which is surprising for somewhere housing students without a lot of money!). There can be issues with wait times and availability for services, such as careers. They really need more staff on things like this, and a complete rehaul of admin is necessary. I had an an absolute nightmare trying to sort out my integrated masters course, though now that I am on it I am enjoying it. Another thing of note, they are insistent that they listen to feedback, however, it often feels like they are not truly listening or only listen when it benefits them.
Lecturers have been great. There are a decent range of activities set up throughout the year. As a postgrad, you may feel a bit awkward or alienated at clubs and societies since they are mainly consisting of undergrads. Careers service has been very helpful in a lot of areas throughout my time here. Not the greatest range of food if you’re looking for something to get on campus, can also be a little on the pricier side. It’s close to selly oak so you can walk around 20 minutes to different shops but depends on how much time you have between lectures.
I’m currently studying at the University of Birmingham and I have to say, it’s been a fantastic experience so far. The professors are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, always willing to help students succeed. The campus is lively and has great facilities, making it easy to connect with others and get involved in activities. The courses are engaging and relevant, providing a solid foundation for my future career. I would definitely recommend the University of Birmingham to anyone looking for a great place to learn and grow!
Coming to the the University of Birmingham was the best decision of my life there's a lot a student can explore through extra curricular activities and various societies and of course different courses as well
Diverse university. Huge campus. Unbelievable atmosphere. Never-ending resources, career development, support staff, alumni. Unlimited student societies to transform our potential.
Really great uni. Can’t fault it.
The university is very nice place and I really have a great time there

The campus is beutiful and paths are kept clear of debrie
Love the location! Staff are lovely!
I had a fantastic stay at [Accommodation Name]! The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the essential amenities such as a comfortable bed, desk, and ample storage. The kitchen facilities were modern and easy to use, and the shared spaces were always tidy and inviting. What I appreciated most was the supportive and friendly staff, who were always available to help with any questions or concerns. The location was also ideal – close to campus, public transport, and local shops, making it super convenient for students. The social events organized by the accommodation were a great way to meet people and create lasting friendships. Overall, I felt safe, comfortable, and part of a great community. Highly recommend this place to any student looking for a hassle-free, enjoyable living experience!
The campus here at UoB is definitely up there with one of the best. From old Joe, to the library, to the running track, it really has it all.
“The university is truly outstanding, offering a top-tier education with excellent professors who are not only knowledgeable but also deeply committed to their students’ success.
I love it here! I’m working on my dream of becoming a microbiologist
I was very happy to have all the facilities and the front desk was very friendly and welcoming during my stay!
It was a good experience the staff are wonderful specially Mitch + Billy
The university campus is beautiful, with lots of quiet spaces to study, and nice places to eat. There is a huge range of societies that offer lots of activities. The career service is good with helpful staff. Some of the seminars and lectures could be more engaging but overall this is a good university.
nice campus however don’t get signal or wifi in some places
I am proud of being part of this prestigious university.
Nice accommodations and the staffs are very cooperative, supporting and helpful
Amazing experience, I’m in 2nd year. The campus is beautiful and I’m enjoying my course
I believe we have one of the prettiest and largest campuses in the UK. We have over 300 societies and so many volunteering opportunities as well as give it a go activities that happen pretty often where you can try new things and be involved. We also have a lot of community welfare in terms of free breakfast every Wednesday, food parcels you can take home and so much more; our uni really cares about students in the living crisis. Although we had a lot of career events throughout the year, none of them re really what I want to go into (NGO work) and it’s mostly very crowded and at least for me , I don’t think they’re effective. Our student union is great, it heats our voices and supports every single one of us . The internet works all the time but it sometimes discounts from the device and it’s very hard to get it back on. There is also a really big issue when it comes to service there is barely anywhere where 4G works. Also there is internet in the buildings but nothing outside
Amazing place amazing people everyone is very helpful and friendly
I needed alternative accommodation due to my 3rd year uni house falling through at the last minute. Karen, who works for Altura, honestly saved my life and helped me quickly secure accommodation for my last year of uni. The whole situation was very stressful and the team at Altura made it that much easier and I was able to enquire , book and move into the accommodation within 2 days. I also was able to refer 2 friends who also enquired, booked and moved into Altura within a few days. They have honestly saved me and I’m so very grateful.
As long as almost 2 years studying in this university, I never felt like complaining about anything at all. All services are superb and my favourite is the career services the university provides. It helps us students with everything, finding suitable jobs based on your course and even provide virtual internships for those who apply. This uni is awwwssoomeee
Tennis courts is the best, it’s so much fun and everyone is lovely. Nightlife is so good, but you have to figure out which days are good when. All professors are lovely and approachable. My course Bsc Environmental science is not ethnically diverse like I hoped Brum would be. The city is fun.
All the facilities and support on campus are immaculate! So easy to get into the city centre as well! The campus feels like an oasis and you don't feel as though you are in the city.
Amazing facilities in the accommodation. A quick walk to campus down the canal. Very nearby to the aldi, sainsburys, nandos and other stores.
In terms of facilities, the university does a great job especially with student support. The one complaint I have, would be that not all lecture theatres have power outlets near the seats for students to use and device does run out of charge despite charging it fully. Since i'm an exchange student from UoB Dubai, I was very used to having charging ports everywhere. I think this is something they could improve on.
It is a really good campus, beautiful
I wanted more time in this lovely University and the clubs are amazing.
Great uni. Great people very friendly. Beautiful campus and great lectures .
Wonderful university that has all the facilities and support that a student could need for their years of study.
It was an amazing experience, I wish I had more time at the university that would've been amazing
There is a nice feel to the university campus but the wi-fi can be tempermental and there is nowhere near enough career advice options for humanities degrees
It had been only two weeks since the start of my course and I am really enjoying it. The campus is perfect with a lot of support and guidance provided by the guild members of the society. The WiFi service available in the university is outstanding as it helps in accessing the canvas page during the lectures so as to have good understanding of what is being taught in lectures. Initially moving to a new country was a frightening experience but the support at the university helped me a lot in settling here.
