Year 1 was meh (mentally I wasn’t in a good place and my study skills sucked - the main reason it wasn’t good for me). Year 2 was during covid so meh again, plus my study skills still sucked. Year 3 was my placement year and I was in London and my study/work skills took off, so this year was good. Year 4, although the hardest academically I’m completing work as I should be and still managing to have fun.
There is no doubt that the west wing is the most cost-effective student accommodation in Cardiff, which is near the city centre and engineering school. The facility there are quite perfect, I love the gym and study room. The lovely stuff team help me a lot when needed, especially Janice. She is really warm-hearted and patient, and would without any hesitation to help you not only in solving something about living, but some advice on daily life. Talking with her is happy and relaxing, she could help you in many aspects. Apart from that, Janice is a bilinguist who also could speak chinese fluently, where you could communicate with stuff and solve problems easier than any other accommodation in Cardiff. In a word, what she did made me feel at home and this is also the main reason I rebook next year.
Cardiff University has a good reputation and some fantastic lecturers. Unfortunately it's let down by bureaucracy and needs to streamline some of its services to make it more efficient.
I can’t speak for cathays campus but I didn’t like the heath, completely separate from everything else, so far out of Cardiff, don’t feel like you’re a uni student there. The student union is too far if you’re studying at Heath and staying in clodien house. Might have been a better experience if I stayed at taly but don’t think the Heath campus is good at all. There’s a good library but not really a social scene. When I’ve gone into the centre cathays campus does look nicer and there’s more social stuff going on there, think that would be a much nicer campus so if you’re not studying healthcare it should be better. But don’t like how it’s not a proper campus, it’s just buildings dotted over the city and accommodation isn’t on campus so have to walk everywhere. Decided to leave and apply for other unis as just wasn’t for me but I’m sure a lot of people have a good time here, just wasn’t right for me.
Great university wonderful student experience great city lovly people
Haven't been here long so there's still a lot to explore. So far it's a good experience
Great educational experience so far. The student support services could do with some improvement however.
Good university, lectures are good very student involving.

Good uni but as I'm a med student I don't know much about the other campuses.
