Brilliant SU, new business block is incredible, good library. Really enjoyed first year. Would definitely recommend UWE to other people
Pretty sick and the night life isn't too bad either
Such a good university, especially for business.
Good student and career support but not enough student facilities such as gym
Really enjoyed first year, couldn’t ask for a better experience
The university provides excellent conditions for students , a lot of support for any kind of problems a student can face ( e.g. financial support , well being support , academic support, carreers support etc) . Also the staff has a positive attitude and it determines the students to enjoy the courses . I am very happy with this university and itnos a pleasure for me to study here. ❤️
Absolutely amazing university and I’m so glad that I go here
Really good uni with amazing facilities and support network
A uni that helps you get where you want to be. Doesn't train just you to be a reseacher It trains you to be a professional. Has great lectures, I haven't had one complaint about any and all my friends at other unis have. The tutors really care and everyone's willing to help. Just because it's not a Russel group doesn't mean it's bad, it's actually better then them because it's more interactive and job focused. Russel groups are for researchers. If you want a job go to UWE.
Great facilities with excellent lectures.
Incredibly supportive academics, good facilities and help outside of the classroom too e.g. mental health
Fantastic university with great facilities
I love my university its perfect for everything I wanted!
Awesome campus, the internet is surprisingly fast and the facilities are always well maintained.
So far pretty good uni. Made some great mates through special interest societies. Good wellbeing service which helped me through a rough patch.
Some of the building are dated, but the new business building is amazing. If you choose a business related course, you’ll get a quality degree. If you want to do a humanities course I would look at University of Bristol.
As a Business Student I was able to experience the brand new business building, which has an extremely cool modern feel to it as well as a great canteen area. I personally didn’t go to many societies (just drama) but at the society fair there were hundreds of options and many of my friends loved some of their societies. The SU is also really new which was great, it has some cool facilities such as a pool table and the drinks there are nice. I’ve heard the food is pretty good too! However a small criticism is there was a toilet door that wasn’t replaced for a while and also it’s a tiny bit in the small side. I personally never really used careers due to having a clear idea anyway, so I just put this as a 3. The internet is pretty good, eduroam works well and does its job, though sometimes it can get a tad slow due to heavy traffic, though it is always fine for work purposes.
loved every single moment of it, great day and night life
UWE has a fantastic support network for students. The staff genuinely care about the students and that's shown by great events the SU puts on and the services they provide like accommodation help, the job shop and wellbeing services. The careers service is also really helpful, especially because you can use it for a year after you graduate! UWE also supports students socially by showcasing their awesome societies, there are so many to choose from! You will definitely be able to find a great friendship group joining a society, no matter what your interests are :)
UWE Bristol is a very welcoming place which is great for students to easily come in and get into the groove of University. All the lectures are useful as well with helping with work and so forth.
Wifi is funny sometimes but the wired internet is pretty good! I have yet to meet a mean person and the staff do seem to care about problems i have
Great location, great facilities.
2nd year media and journalism student. They trialled a new module on our year that clearly didn't work and now we're all left with bad grades that effects our graduation.
Have had a really good first year, the facilities on campus are amazing and are so accessible, and the university is in a great location.
Great place with great tutors, however sometimes forget that the students education is the most important thing.
Brilliant university with great facilities and social activities for all to get involved in. Very happy being a student at the uni
Glenside campus has absolutely nothing! They don’t care about you if you don’t go to frenchey
It has been a great three year experience at UWE studying Biomedical Science. All the staff were very helpful and help was available at all times.
The best life choice ever, great staff, great facilities and grest people
It is a nice university but there are some things which need improvement
Nice university on the surface. But it is a terrible place full of not so good people. Lecturers seem to not give a crap in the business courses.
really great campus, everything available to you, amazing facilities
Amazing uni, great facilities, lecturers are helpful and alround great city
Uni is great here however, my experience with some of the faculty has not been 100% positive. Biggest one would be like lack of communication (not responding to any emails). Some of them however are brilliant but my main experience is waiting for emails as they're hard to get hold of or would prefer an email
Absolutely appalled with UWE, can see the reason people disregard it as a quality university. Accommodation managers and staff are neglectful to issues that need to be resolved. Lack of support from staff. Disgusting.
Great community, broad range of study, amazing campus. Big up Bristol!
Relative small campus but it really makes it feel like a community, the student village is situated in a great area with access to cutting edge facilities like the new Bristol Business School.
Great facilities, especially the new business building
All good really, students union this year has been pretty crap though and pretty much a massive waste of money, especially the president who’s pretty much done nothing for the uni at all. Halls were good but I was in a rubbish flat so that could’ve been better. Societies have been insane, looking forward to next year
Amazing uni, great campus and nightlife, very helpful tutors
Always super supportive, staff are lovely and make you feel like you're at home, a dream uni
I am so glad that I decided to go here.
The campus is really good and there are more shops around. The gym price and facility is also great.
Overall friendly university, that offers the best facilities to students.
The main campus is very well equipped and lovely but the smaller campuses definitely need looked at. For example the students union at Glenside Campus
UWE business school lecturers are motivated and supportive, lots of extra help, activities, good social life
Fab people, friendly, good vibes, clean, great staff- so glad I chose UWE
All the faculty are amazing and experience, brings a lot into students lifes not just for the ones who lives on campus but for the outside ones as well! No regrets love the University, love the athmosphere!
Excellent facilities, great people, brilliant staff
Great University with lots to offer! Bristol is a fun city and the campus is great as all on your doorstep!
The uni has good facilities and is not too far from the city, with good bus links. The accommodation is a little pricey but it is worthwhile living on campus, especially in the first year.
Beautiful business building that I study in, living on campus and maintenance is quick.
Brilliant brand new business and law school with nice affordable restaurants. Free cinema showings weekly, lots and lots of different sports and societies.
Super good uni, modern and suits me really well
It’s great especially the brand new business school building and the new main library on frenchay campus !!!
Come from a low income background so UWE has offered much help and support in terms of bursaries and any kind of emotional support past this. Also helped out friends of mine that suffer from mental health conditions, especially those who’s have been aggravated by uni lifestyle. Don’t walk around on campus much but library is extensive and there’s always room to sit. Didn’t like the SU in freshers but haven’t really been back since.
Business block is great, The rest of the campus/library desperately needs an update
Unfortuantly so far my experience in terms of tutoring has been crap. I'm studying animation, and well, I've taught myself more on my own than in any workshops / lectures given. At the end of the day, I'm paying a callosal amount of money, so it's only fair that I expect to learn something.. at least.
Having an incredible time at Uwe
The courses promised do not match the expectations. Dissapointed.
Awful financial help won't lie great uni though having a good time so far the students union is s*** compared to places lile bucks where its free
It’s decent enough, I mean I’m going to be getting a degree, however it bigs itself up to be a completely different University to what it actually is
We have no SU anymore as it’s dead all the time, and no one gos to it. The shop prices are ridiculous and same with cafes, making it impossible to actually eat.
Love every minute of university here, staff are friendly and welcoming
Full of interesting people, as well as substances
While UWE Bristol offers amazing courses and very knowldgable staff, I believe that the university lacks in sufficient support, particularly from colloboration between the student support team and the staff themselves. Having come with several difficulties including pregnancy and personal circumstances, I believe that not enough was done or provided to ensure that I get the best support available. Instead it was made to feel like I had to fill out countless forms and never get a proper answer, rather than just speak personally to staff and have them support me. Other than that, the university does provide a great learning path for all students of all ages.
UWE staff are friendly and helpful, the blackboard website allows us to quickly and easily access all the information I need for my course and the facilities are excellent! My course is engaging, the workload is balanced and I am taught a good mixture of practical skills and theory. Anything you need, you are provided with. I’d recommend anyone to attend the University of the West of England.
Lacking comparative to other universities
A university on the rise. Some of the lectures are a bit dodgy but overall it’s very good. Danny Elvidge best lecture
Only some of campus is new, if you do business you’re sorted because there’s a brand new block. But any other subject it’s old and outdated, teaching staff are also really rude and don’t support you when you ask.
Bangin place to be, full of awesome people. Standard facilities but great quality. Sadly no swimming pool. But I love studying here and I enjoyed living on campus. Would reccomend and have
I have absolutely loved my time in UWE so far. I have made so many friends that I will have for life. The student union holds great events and cheap drinks! Especially the quiz on a Sunday night! There are plenty of societies for each individual so there is something for everyone! The uni make you feel welcome and wanted. Couldn't have chosen a better university.
There really is something for everyone here. Everywhere has a friendly yet purposeful feel and the accommodation is the best I've seen at any uni. Truly a wonderful place. Shame about the closure of the old Frenchay SU as the new bar is too small and sterile, but there's time for it to improve.
Lovely new business block, dedicated staff and courses that actively link to post grafuation employment.
Amazing time with great friends and a great course. Loved it
UWE provides a satisfying experience, with plenty of student support to compliment a comprehensive teaching programme. The facilities, whilst from the outside appear dated, are of a notable standard on the interior, with new hi-spec work spaces and clean fresh study areas.
UWE boasts a state of the art Business School, a student union that provides the perfect social space and services for students, as well as excellent sports centre and accommodating halls of residence.
Uni is very nice, Frenchay campus is lovely and well laid out
Great facilities and support if you have the initiative to find it. Although internet is 50/50 with eduroam. Amazing societies
Love uwe, great facilities, great input from su into students' lives. Great support.
You what? UWE heard endlessly here
This is a great university that supports all its students. I have made lifelong friends here and have studied a great course at the same time.
Worst experience ever at UWE, having studied my nursing degree at the Glenside campus. Very poor support for students who suffer from mental health problems, all the university seemed to do was put barriers up. I wasn't allowed to complete my course even having done the full 3 years academic work completing with a 2:1 they wouldn't allow me to complete hours required by NMC to get my pin, so I wasted three years at the university. Seminars and lectures poorly organised, one thing I will say is my personal tutors (after having a different one each year because of staff leaving) were all really good, they supported me but thepeople higher up would not. The food is over priced, accommodation on Glenside is over priced and of a very poor quality, no wireless internet in your room and for nearly £600 a month it's extortionate. good travel links around the university to the city and other campus but obviously you have to pay for that travel. I wish I chose another university sadly.
Very big and lots of study space
Course was awful, studied fine art which was very focused on conceptual art with virtually no skills taught. Only 5 hours a week of tuition (if you could call it that). There were 1-2 hour workshops on Fridays for screenprinting and other skills but these were often cancelled or so brief they weren't worth attending. Lecturers were clearly failed artists trying to push their ideas onto students. The course was a complete waste of money, going to Bristol for three years, meeting new people and enjoying the city was great. Don't waste your money go to a real university or throw £25,000 out of a window.
The students union at uwe is very small. They are good for ensuring low prices for products the uni sells which is good. There are a wide range if v facilities available including the library and sports centre.
UWE is not like every uni, it its just a new, different, and inspiring uni
Got cash point on campus aswell as NatWest bank, post room etc. No internet in laundry rooms which is mad as you need it to log in to use the machines.
The University is growing very strong recently. Love it.
In terms of the actual campus, it's really not too bad, again I expected more because on an open day the uni only showed some of their best facilities, when you actually go to the uni and start studying the rooms and favilities are actually very old and really overused, the uni is just too crowded and personally I think the new su is a waste, I much preferred the old style pub su which felt far more like a students pub that whatever you want to call it now.
Bit out of the way in terms of the city but very friendly atmosphere and am really enjoying the first year so far. Would recommend uwe a lot
Lovely campus, everything is we'll caged and not difficult to find
I'm on Glenside campus. Beautiful, old building and grounds. Very modern and new on the inside. Student union at Glenside is a bit run down and the student shop is quite expensive. However, the student union on Frenchay campus is brand new and lovely. No free bus travel which is disappointing. £1 single ticket between campuses which builds up money. The alternative is a 30 minute walk uphill which is fine on a summers day. Less clubs and societies than I thought there would be but there are plenty of sport, musical and international student societies, if they suit you.
The new students union is not big enough for the amount of students on campus even though its newly built.
Great uni, great people, love it.
Enjoyable first year. Stayed in the brand new Wallscourt accommodation which was great but clearly built on a budget. Accommodation staff were rude and sometimes entered your flat without warning.
Great uni, with lots of support and just a nice place to be
First year has been brilliant. Everything is 5/5 except the student union. Maybe the new building and club on campus will boost that!
Great uni and great friends too
I am in my second year and happy to say that the university has the best facilities for a great curriculum. Very informed teachers is an added bonus. I am from computer science department.
