The food here is decent enough and the shared shower rooms aren't unbearable - however, there is very little sense of community and my personal food has been stolen from the fridge multiple times in just two weeks. There are zero cameras to monitor theft and the staff could not care less about your property. Finally, if you are a student actually looking to have some fun, I really wouldn't recommend Chester House - you won't get the party experience you would at other halls.
If I'm being honest I wouldn't rate Chester House massively. Location is great- muswell hill is a lovely area. The actual accommodation is basic, does the job but I do feel like it's very expensive for a mediocre place. The main staff aren't very friendly, they didn't put me at ease at all when I first arrived, and it feels like even asking them for you parcel (which is delivered to the office) is too much work for them. The only nice staff are the cleaners and the people in the kitchen! However the food again isn't great, it's like having school dinners all the time. Sometimes you'll chance upon a great meal, but overall it's bland, or beige and often doesn't take into account allergies. I think this could be to do with budgeting, however, as the guy who runs it is so passionate about food, they probably aren't seeing much of the fee we spend. Noise carries so easily I can't remember the amount of times I've been woken up by someone else's alarm.
