What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Absolutely do not recommend staying here!! It's old and dirty. Took maintenance 2 months to fix the things in the apartment that were broken during move in. When asked about why things are the way they are all we're told is that management is "cutting cost" while charging full rent.
The management team is very warming and helpful. The location is also convenient. Lot of public transportation. One Sainsbury’s and tesco around.

Perfect location, but there could be more space to improve receptions for receiving the parcels.
Very good and supportive management. Good location, near the metro, restaurants and shops. However, the furniture is very old and uncomfortable in the rooms.
Although, the location is convenient and the overall security for the accommodation is good – the management team are horrible with repairs. The accommodation didn’t have a working tumble dryer for the last 5 months of my stay. I contacted the accommodation manager to enquire when it might be fixed since it broke down. It seemed like he was talking from both sides of his mouth. Once he said the parts for it needs to be replaced and then he said there would be new dryers and washing machines installed. After the first few months of enquiring – I gave up bothering to ask when it will be fixed because there were more and more excuses. The dish washer for the accommodation was broken when I moved into the property and it was never fixed. The kitchen hob extractor fan was also broken from the start and it was never fixed. The repairs for the accommodation are not fixed right away in a timely manner either. When the maintenance team finally get around to fixing the repairs – they usually don

Excellent location, generally comfortable living condition, social space available, friendly staff. Downside is the lift in the building is old and would often be stuck on a floor when the doors aren’t properly closed.
Walking distance to UCL, good convenience in terms of living, really nice management team.

This property and the management were outstanding. The rooms included great amenities. Overall, Hayder was an amazing property manager. He was helpful with all things and a very kind man. Highly recommend booking this property. Checking in and out process was very easy as well.
