All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

UCL asked us to move room (which sucks), but the staff here Cheila is very patient and friendly to help us. Thank you so much for making things easier for me to settle in!
cheila is a very friendly and kind person, she has always been very efficient in helping me with my problems and I am very grateful to her!
It's a great student apartment. It's convenient to walk to school, and also near to many markets to buy things
The absolute worst living experience I have ever had. Staff is cold and unresponsive, construction noises are unbearably loud and disturb us, the amenities are poor and just not worth the thousands of pounds we pay for. There is also no feeling of community, my emails go un-responded. If you can find housing independently and outside Unite Students please do so! Do not make the mistake I did- I am so unhappy here.
I normally don’t write reviews but things are getting unbearable recently 1. The reception said to open 24/7 but it is always closed, it doesn’t matter you walk in at the mid of days or 6-10pm. 2. Heater would shut down after reaching certain degrees, which means you would be awaked at night due to coldness. 3. Kitchen inspection is every week which is highly unnecessary and many things doesn’t make sense. For instance, there is no garbage allowed in the can on the day of inspection. Then what’s the point of having a garbage can? Also, it means we have to dump the half-full can on Tuesday night, waste of money and time. 4. They don’t clean up remaining letters from past occupants in the mail box. Every time when I open it, it’s a mess. 5. One survey poster written in Chinese even doesn’t make grammatical sense. Why not let Chinese speakers make it? Overall the price is much overpriced, you pay £304 per week to live with 5 other people. Avoid the place if you can!
Hello, We are sorry to hear about your experience so far! Please do come and talk to us at the reception about your review and we will try to help with anything that we can.
Not bad given the market situation. In several ways, an annex to the actual main residence, which is St Pancras.
Hello, thank you for your review! Beaumont Court Team!
It’s great here! I especially love how passionate the site team management are about making this a positive experience for every student!
Thank you! We are pleased to hear this and this has had a positive impact on your stay!
The apartment facilities are complete and undamaged, and the front desk staff are very enthusiastic to help me solve difficulties and provide convenience!
Hello, Thank you for sharing this with us :)
The room and bathroom are very good for being student accommodation ones. But I wish there was a cleaning service for the kitchen or that we could at least have garbage bags included. Room: 28A
Hi, Thank you for sharing your experience!
I’m in flat 1 room A and I’ve really enjoyed it here! It’s a lovely walk to uni and camden is great
Hi, Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone - it is valuable to the team and everyone else.
Staff told us we could use St Pancras Way's facilities after two terms. We paid the same money as them but didn't get to use what they have had.
Hi, Sorry to hear that the information was not communicated clearly at the beginning. We will make sure to improve this moving forward.
Very friendly environment to be around with staff available to help at any moment!
Hello, Thank you! We are pleased to hear you have been enjoying living with us at Beaumont Court.
I've had a horrible experience living at Beaumont Court: most of the facilities in kitchens and even bedrooms were broken, staff and maintenance wasn't helpful in sorting out the issues. The price of accommodation is way too high compared to the quality.
Hello, we are sorry to hear about the issues you faced at Beaumont Court. Please could you pop down to the reception or email us so we can look into this further or if we can improve your experience. Kind regards Beaumont Court Team
low value for money, no one uses the social space, poor heater
Hi, Thank you for leaving your review for us. Please check out the events calendar at the reception - we are rolling out new events and initiatives! Can you pop down to the reception or email us with more detail about the heating issue so we can look into that? Thank you Beaumont Court Team
My flat is spacious and provides the perfect space to study and socialize. The only critique I have is that any issues within the flat should be resolved in a more timely manner. For example, I did not have curtains when I first moved in. After I brought this issue up with the staff, it took over 2 weeks before the problem was taken care of.
Hello, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you had an issue in your room when you moved in. If there is anything we can do to help or improve your stay with us, do not hesitate to get in touch with us via Beaumont Court email or see us at the reception. Many thanks Beaumont Court Team
I think that it’s ok, I have issues with the cleanliness… my bathroom is super old with no fan, mould growing. I also find the elevator to be super old and slow. I do like my room however, but the construction across the road has been a real issue for me and I think it’s really unfair to charge me the same rent as the others when my room is directly facing construction workers and I can’t even open my blinds and deal with loud noise. All that being said, I do thin k it’s a liveable accommodation, I just think it needs to be renovated to be charging the high rent that it does.
Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Can we ask you to pop down to the reception or email us directly so we can see if there is anything we can do to improve your stay at Beaumont Court? Thank you
Great community for affiliate students!
Hi there, thank for your review. We are happy to hear you have been enjoying the community at Beaumont Court! Beaumont Court Team
Staying at Beaumont Court was a good introduction to life in London. Being located near Camden Town and the focal point of the northern line makes transport a cinch and the reception staff are always delightful. The WiFi is more than sufficient for streaming and most other web activities. The maintenance could be better, in our flat neither of the extraction fans work and one of the lights doesn't turn on, although I don't know whether this is a common problem or if we're just unlucky.
Hi, thank you for leaving a review! We are happy to hear that you have been enjoying living with us at Beaumont Court. Sorry to hear about the maintenance issues. We would like to help you with that and sort this out as soon as possible. Could you pop us an email or give us a call to let us know your room and hopefully we can work out the issues? Beaumont Court Team
The location is in a great spot of Camden, quiet and peaceful yet very near the main high street. It’s also in a great location for accessing multiple train stations within a 10 minute walk. The staff are very friendly and quick to help with any issues you have. The laundry machines are a bit problematic sometimes and the carpets in the hallways tend to smell a bit, possibly due to being quite old. However, my room was very well cleaned and a great size with a double bed which is rare for student accommodation! The facilities in my room are also always working and the heater is even new! Beaumont Court is a pleasure!
Hello, Thank you very much for leaving a detailed review which I am sure will be helfpul to future students! If you do face more issues with the laundry facilities, please report them at the reception or email us directly. Many thanks
We need to clean ourselves and always have dirty corridors. I can not understand why we don't have any cleaners. Far from UCL, no transportation. But near Camden, recommend it for students who like funky free vibes.
Hi, Thank you for leaving the review with us. We are sorry to hear your concerns about not having cleaners, please get in touch with us to discuss further and for us to be able to provide more information on cleaning provisions: BeaumontCourt@unitestudents.com Many thanks Beaumont Court Team
It’s near St. Pancras station, which is convenient for traveling, but quite far from UCL.
Hello, Thank you for your review! Beaumont Court Team
The location is great in terms of being so near camden high street and fairly close to UCL. The rooms are a good size and have great storage however the only social space is a tiny common room which is essentially a couple of sofas and a TV so I’d recommend joining hall group chats as a better chance to socialise within the hall. The staff at reception are always very helpful and friendly, just a shame reception isn’t always open like previously advertised.
Hi, Thank you for leaving your review. We are glad to hear that the room size is good and distance to UCL is fairly close. Just a reminded that social spaces at a nearby building - St Pancras Way - are always open to students living in Beaumont Court! And thank you for your feedback about the reception opening hours - we are working on ensuring 24/7 service at all times and where not possible ensuring St Pancras Way team is there to help. Best wishes Beaumont Court Team
Not great management- staff don’t seem to know what they are doing. Lots of maintenance issues. When reporting things to be fixed, they are often not.
Hello, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you've had some negative experiences living with us, please get in touch with us to discuss further so we can support you better: BeaumontCourt@unitestudents.com
The accommodation is nice but way too expensive. Also, the wifi connection can be sometimes unstable.
Hello, Thank you for your honest review. Sorry to hear about the WiFi connectivity issues. We would like to help you with that and sort this out as soon as possible. Could you email or give us a call so we can work out the issues? Thank you Beaumont Court Team
The staff are lovely 🥰 but the reception is often closed which means I cannot collect a parcel I understand that they are helping another student at this time but can be very annoying, Mabey there could be lockers so we could collect them with our key card? The location is really good within London but is one of the furthest away from university. The common room is tiny and in a different building which means no one hangs out there. There are barely any social event and the ones there are are are bad times. Overall the real problem is it is way to overpriced when you compare it to any other UCL hall eg st pancreases which is next door only £5 more exp a week and has way more going on and is more modern.
Hi, Thank you for your honest feedback. We are glad to hear that staff at Beaumont Court has been kind and helpful. We understand that there are times when reception is closed. Please call the number provided and a staff member will be there to support. We have introduced an events calendar which is displayed at the reception - please come and check out fun activities and initiatives we have planned out for everyone living at Beaumont Court. Yours Beaumont Court Team
yeah mate, had a pretty decent time in halls, just a shame it’s attached to a s*** uni
Expensive flat and s*** parties, I spent all my time in Maynard that's where the fun happens
