Honestly if you are going to be a WSA student and considering staying at Erasmus, don't. Genuinely just make the journey from Southampton. The biggest mistake I made was coming to Erasmus in my first year. The walls are extremely thin (could genuinely hear a phone notification from the floor above), a massive silverfish and mould in the bathroom problem, very outdated rooms, unhelpful and rude maintenance staff who honestly don't have much respect for the students living here and Winchester is quite possibly the worst place a university student could live in. To add to this, the majority of people that go here are absolute neeks and will complain about you if you're not dead silent after 8pm. The only good thing to come from Erasmus is my flatmates who I was lucky enough to meet, who hate the place just as much as I do. If you want to have any sort of social life or university experience at all, stay away from this absolute hell hole.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

I enjoyed my time in halls, however the rooms were a bit dated and needed a reboot. However I felt very safe and enjoyed my first year.
Hated halls and had to move out. Was in a “quiet” flat but next door to one that wasn’t and the walls were so thin that I could hear every conversation up until 5am. The rooms were dated and dull and honestly felt like prison cells with how depressing it could be once the heavy fire door slammed shut.
I commuted so can’t speak on behalf of this
It’s average, nice to have your own en suite and kitchen is an alright size. Definitely not worth £135 a week though. It never really felt clean and the walls are so thin. There are so many empty rooms and the social life is zero to none. I was stuck on the bottom floor with 3 other people I didn’t even talk to, with rarely anything going on in the common room. So if you’re looking for something more social definitely go to the halls in Southampton. Was so disappointing and was part of the reason my uni experience was so bad. Don’t recommend these halls at all to be honest
Nice to have an ensuite bathroom, but walls were too thin and could hear every conversation from the flat nextdoor. Common room was the worst and was always empty, never anything there for us to do together.
It's alright, but it's far from worth £117.60 a week. Cleaners are useless; mopping the kitchen floor with dirty water from previous houses that they've cleaned, moving all of our kitchen possessions from where they are, hiding tea towels, not vaccuming the hall way. The office staff are rude apart from one or two, losing post/package orders etc. The security on site are also rude, again with the exception of one or two and single out our flat (we're allowed to smoke outside the flat - when in large groups of 5/6 at a time and they have no problem at all with us doing so, but as soon as it's one person on their own they start threatening to fine us up to £50 for it). The kitchens are tiny, the rooms are also very poorly ventilated which causes build ups of thick, black mould all over the bathroom ceiling. The office staff are also very slow to notify the maintenance team about issues (it took two weeks for a maintenance man to come out to sort my ever expanding mould).
