Lawrencefield is amazing, I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to live in Endcliffe. It has its own little "sense of community", whilst still being apart of Endcliffe. Its in a great location that means its not super noisy all the time but its like a 2 minute walk from the edge. All of the kitchens are super modern and big and the rooms are painted a nice grey colour. I love being in Lawrencefield and would totally recommend to anyone!

Lawrencefield Apartments is ideal for undergraduate and postgraduate students as the accommodation is centrally located within walking distance of the university buildings. All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Lawrencefield is quite good for the location inside of Endcliffe it’s slightly further out from the main middle section so you don’t get as much noice pollution, conveniently closer to the bus stop and Morrisons etc. However it’s still close enough to the laundry that ur not travelling too far. The rooms are a decent size better than I thought they would be. The kitchens are also pretty great compared to other Endcliffe apartments I’ve seen. Like for 8 of us it’s modern and big enough for all of us. One thing tho Endcliffe in general is quite far out from a lot of stuff which means you have to spend a lot of time wasting on travelling, either by walking or traffic of the bus. However for the social scene is great you can easily make friends and the edge is a convenient place to study and hang out.

Honestly despite being the accommodation that people may think is far away or excluded from the main halls in Endcliffe, Lawrencefield has its own little community as well as being fully integrated with the others. The social opportunities are great and I’ve met so many lovely people here, while also being able to meet others living in the ‘main’ part of the village. It’s still super close to the Edge but has a great sense of privacy when needed meaning there’s a perfect balance between being quite lively yet also more peaceful and quiet.

on the edge of endcliffe so still good for parties but not as loud as ones near the edge, so good if u want to sleep more

The flats are great with lots of space in the kitchens and it is close to the edge and all the other flats. I would have personally preferred to have been in some of the louder flats as I end up going there most nights before a night out. The wifi is also very off and on. All in all though it’s still a great place to be.

A fair walk from Uni but a really nice living space amd really sociable place to live.
Hello and thank you for your review. The main campus is 20/25 minutes walk from the Ranmoor/Endcliffe site. This is quite close compared to many UK universities. It's quite an easy walk along well lit, busy roads. You can always pass through the Broomhill shopping centre to pick up any shopping from the supermarkets there though there is a village store on site. Best wishes, Sharon
Endcliffe is really nice as a complex, and the Edge and Ranmoor gym facilities are brilliant. I think overall it's a bit on the expensive side, however the facilities are very good, certainly a good campus compared to other UK universities

I enjoy living in Lawrencefield as it is situated close enough to the Edge, but also slightly separated so it isn't as loud. My main issue is the WiFi connection, which can be unreliable.

Very underrated accommodation. Almost top of the hill which is a bonus in terms of dragging yourself to lectures at 8am. Nice rooms, relatively quiet but still good social opportunities, just across the green from the edge, laundry etc. would highly recommend.

I think Lawrencefield is close to perfect. I live with 8 others, but have a kitchen bigger than most 10+ person flats in Derwent or Howden. It is so close to the noisy flats, can walk there in 2 minutes, and can see them, but can't hear them! There's always stuff going on in Lawrencefield, with a great community, you'll often get notes on the door inviting you over. Lawrencefield is also at the top of Endcliffe, meaning you are one of the closest accommodations to the bus and also Broomhill and the shops they have there.

I love living in Lawrencefield. It's in Endcliffe so you still have easy access to the Edge and Village Store but you are a bit further away from the rest of the accommodation blocks so noise is less than if you are right in the middle of it all. It feels like it's own little community within the village. The kitchen and living area is a great size for the 6 of us and the rooms are the same as the rest of the uni blocks. WiFi can be pretty slow and the water can be cold if you are showering early in the morning but this isn't particularly different than other blocks. When we've filed maintenance issues, they've been sorted in great time and the cleaning staff come every 2 weeks to clean the kitchen area. The staff are friendly and although I haven't had many direct interactions with them my flatmates have had long chats to then when they are cleaning our kitchen and have commented on how friendly they are. I would strongly recommend choosing it as a place to live.

I am satisfied with the size of the room and the bathroom. The kitchen is spacious and the common facilities are in good working order. However, there were some items that were broken upon move-in, and the cleaning was not thorough. These issues can be resolved through the accommodation maintenance system. The property is located close to The edge facilities but is somewhat far from the buildings where classes are held. There are supermarkets nearby and the environment is nature-friendly.

Good accomedation quiet pricey relative to the city but not to bad for uni first year. Nice location away from loud noise of central endcliffe but still decent community. Wifi is very slow but does work in all places

Great rooms and social spaces, a bit quieter but still has a good social life

Nice to be away from the noise near the edge and half way up the hill. Kitchen is massive and the view is great. Laundry is a bit far. No lift, but only four floors.

lawrencefield is great if you care for a good night sleep! it’s surrounded by open, green space so you’re away from the ‘noisier’ buildings. plus it’s just more aesthetically pleasing!! wifi can be a little patchy, but like most problems we’ve encountered, it’s solved almost immediately. we highly recommend lawrencefield!! (we’re also halfway up endcliffe hill🥰)

Far enough away to be able to get a good night sleep but close enough to be still be engaged socially. Perfect for a good work-life balance and getting plenty of rest.

Very poor service for the price, and it’s already above the average price
Lawrencefield is in a nice location on the hill above the rest of Endcliffe. Room is decent and kitchen and common room is of a good size. Wifi is not usually an issue but can be slightly irritating at times. 8 people per flat means that there's always someone around and not too many so that there's no space in the kitchen. Laundry is a trek but there are machines at Endcliffe Crescent Flats if you ask someone there for the door code. Overall nice place to live and definitely a lively bunch.
Lawrencefield is good if you don't plan on doing any work or sleeping at all, I mean I enjoy going out and that don't get me wrong, but when the music is so loud at 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday that you can't hear the lecture you're trying to catch up on in your own room, it's a bit of a pain. Also the walk up the hill from the Edge or Laundrette can get annoying, and the water pressure from the showers is sh itttt . However, people here can be very friendly always offering for anyone to come for pres and will always take in your deliveries

Phone signal was horrendous lol..... had to run outside with my phone every time someone called (not so easy from a 3rd floor flat). Quieter than a lot of endcliffe apartments but suited me fine.
Flatmates were nice this year but we were a quite bunch. Apartments did get kinda noisy and stank of weed occasionally. Would have liked to interact with more international students.
LAWRENCEFIELD WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Met all my best pals there and had the most wonderful experience, it's like being in your own little community and everyone is really social. Also the kitchens are bigger than the rest of Endcliffe for less people per flat. I spent most of my time in lawrencefield blasting ABBA from my room and nobody seemed to mind, so get your funky on and join the best accomodation in Britain. You're also slightly closer to broomhill so less of a hill. You are a lucky bunny for being selected to be in the funnest blocks in Endcliffe. get ready to partaaaayyyyy!! XXXXX
Nice but the wifi is exceptionally temperamental and the phone signal is also rubbish
