If you want to socialise then Pendle Hall is not for you. More for people that just want to get there heads down/older generation/introverts. The place is close to most uclan buildings. If you are self-contained you will have your own bathroom and kitchen. However, the place really needs renovating. From heating which only comes on twice a day and can make your room an inferno at times. There is no heater in the bathroom/kitchen. The bathroom depends on if it is on the outside wall like mine both rooms became freezing in the winter. The furnature is outdated and check your couch. You will get a victorian styled not comfy or a modern one that that the leather peels easily. Double glazing doesn't keep the noice out from The Guild pub but it is great for a nice meal. Town is about a 10 min walk, The laundrette is a 3 min walk away. (can be pricey if you wash alot) Overall Pendle Hall is okay but for just over £5k for what you're actually getting I feel is a bit steep.

cleaning of corridors and stairs need to be improved
I personally didn't like it almost at all. Arrived there, it was super gross, as in messy and dusty. People kept coming randomly in the apartment. Doors made a lot of noise and the furniture wasn't great either, for the amount I was paying. Plus other small things (bad stove, shower head. The only thing that was great was the location and the internet.
Great room sizes. Fantastic internet speeds both ethernet and wireless. Perfect for people nervous about sharing with big groups. Across the road from Victoria Building so is incredibly convenient for anyone with classes there and still very close to the rest of the campus.
Pendle is a good place however no much of a social area which would be helpful for first years. Sometimes can be noisy other then that is a nice place to live for term
Great place to stay, issues with heating (can be too warm) however, it’s still a great place for the money and located very close to the university
I had one of the solo flats this past year, was about the same if not cheaper then other studios and solo flats in Preston. My living space/bedroom was huge - kind of a disappointment that it was a single bed because double could easily have fit and taken up barely any of the room. The bathroom was also pretty big and the shower was okay - a good size but not great water pressure. The kitchen was pretty small compared to the rest of the flat but other than its size it was fine. The flat did feel really warm to me sometimes so often had the window open (even in the winter). I didn't find it very noisy but that could have been down to having quiet neighbours. The internet was generally pretty good but there are not really any social areas outside your own flat and if you want to wash your clothes you have to go to a different building. The corridors and stairs weren't always clean but my flat was nice and bright. Quick walk to uni buildings and local shops.
A well placed hall right at the heart of uclan though not the place to meet people. I moved in with a flatmate from last year and we have had a good experience here though the location has its downsides simce it can be a little noisy. PARKING is a NIGHTMARE unless you're willing to pay for an extortionately priced UCLAN parking permit... Would recommend to non first years since your contract is only from September to july and you aren't charged massive admin fees like if you're renting from an agent.
