The location and value for money in catered halls is great. However it does get very very noisy. The staff are all friendly, cleaning is mediocre, if your sharing a shower/toilet between the whole flat it does get messy. The social aspect of halls is brilliant especially for 1st years. Wifi is good enough. The evening meals are usually good, but the breakfast service is pretty bad. The food is served just warm instead of hot a lot of the time. But it is one of the best catered halls in my opinion.

We have a “nice” accommodation
Pool equipment always being broken but otherwise nice to have along with table tennis and darts. Rooms are good size and regularly cleaned
The food is not great at all and the dinner ladies are occasionally unnecessarily aggressive and mean. I don’t feel like the food is nutritious and sometimes is not cooked properly.
Decent value for money for those with renovated rooms (which should all be done now) though for a short period one block was known as ‘the ghetto’... The location is unparalleled; 5 mins walk to the centre of campus, 2 mins to the bus stop straight to town, in a cluster of other halls and one of few to have a bar. The halls management team are lovely (porters, cleaners, reception, etc) though the warden and halls tutors are intolerable; many of the tutors (there supposedly for pastoral care) had huge authoritarian power trips making many of our social group feel uncomfortable. As a catered hall the food is what you’d expect (not great but edible) but dinner is always a sociable time. This is naturally a very sociable hall, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed living there.
Tutors and Warden treat you like a child and try to make you go to bed at 10:30. Enter your room without permission even if locked.
Location is a great middle ground for pretty much everything except the tram route, which I can deffo live with. Repetitiveness of halls dinners for sure knocks it down a peg or two, but the absolute best porter/warden teams. Thanks so much for looking after us so well.
Very nice hall with lots of food options and green space

For my year, definitely the most sociable halls on campus, with a good social spaces and the food is okay as far as catered halls go (albeit the combinations of cuisines they put are often completely bizarre), with echo bar offering cheap pints, decent pitchers and okay food (although the food's a little pricey). Location is second to none. Easy trip to campus and right next to the bus stop outside Lenton hall with the 36 straight into town and back again, but also only 5 mins walk from the gym. Halls management and porters are charming and honestly do their best in running the hall in an efficient manner; however, Derby halls greatest downfall are the Halls Tutors, who are supposedly there for pastoral care. Their very presence makes any room uncomfortable, and many have a complete power trip and like to reassert their authority at every opportunity. The 11pm curfew is a bit of a joke for Univeristy halls, however we've made a habit of making the common room more sociable.
Food is hit and miss. Combination of food each night is very random. Quality of meat is poor.
Food quality is appalling. Fairly good location for most places (ie. Trent and Portland Building, DRSV, libraries). Cleaning staff are really nice and the receptionists are fairly nice. Social space and the library are tiny given how many people live in Derby. One of the ugliest halls by far
I've had a really great time living here. I have a shared study room which is great cause I love the person I share with. The hall is a nice distance from the rest of the campus and close to the bus stop into town.
Using water in any room will burn the skin off your hands
Big block, lots of people, lots to do, good food
Really good hall atmosphere and great in block bonding! Slight issue with food quality and the social space is underused!
Food isn't great, old cleaner (Barb) was really good, new one not so good.
