Rooms were good value and had all the facilities I needed. Staff were helpful and kind but would've like to have the reception manned in the daytimes as it was very difficult to get hold of staff at Albion House in the day

I have enjoyed my time at Albion House, and due to fair pricing, I will be returning for a second year. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the bedrooms and kitchens are spacious. We have a cleaner once per week in communal areas. The location is perfect- just a 3 minute walk from Sainsbury's and 5 minute walk from Lidl. Beeston is a lovely place to live.
I really enjoyed my time at Albion, although it was a bit far from campus the walk was lovely.. It is close to many shops and charity shops so you can have a good time in Beeston. However even though it is part of Broadgate Park we did not have as many social events and things unlike Broadgatw which was a shame we felt a bit distanced.

Very dirty when moving in, kitchens have poor storage space, ridiculously small space for food in the fridges, not even enough for one tiny shelf per person. Staff is great tho and location is good. Quite expensive for what it offers tho
Albion house is not very close to the uni campus in comparison to other accommodations. There are also no common rooms in the actual building, you have to walk about 12 mins to get to Broadgate Park to use their facilities which isn’t very convenient. This accommodation is cheaper than most, but paying a bit more for better facilities is probably good if you like to socialize. The main positive aspect is that Albion is really close to all the supermarkets so you don’t have to walk back very far with your shopping.
The single best thing about Albion House is the reception staff— Deu, Rob and Andy. They go out of their way to talk to and help students. Followed closely by the cleaning staff. However, the management needs severe improvement. Any complaints were replied to with a thinly-veiled apology, but never actually dealt with or solved, and our kitchen was ‘renovated’ in Feb/March with no prior warning before we signed up for the accommodation, and a month warning beforehand. As a neurodivergent individual, I had no support, as I was forced to live out of a temporary caravan kitchen for a week, which caused severe stress and a panic attack. Management did not care. As well as this, the new kitchen is not built for 7 people. There are 2 mini fridges between us, which makes no practical sense, and does not allow students to buy healthy, fresh food. After the renovation, our flat tried to get out of our second year contract, but was told this was not possible, despite the change in circumstances.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback – its extremely valuable to ensure we are continually improving the experience of our residents at Albion House. We’re really pleased to hear your positive comments about the reception staff, and have passed your other feedback along to our team. We do apologise for the disruption caused due to the kitchen refurbishment and are sorry to see this impacted your time at Albion House. We have a continual program of improvements to ensure the facilities available to residents meet their needs, and occasionally we are unfortunately unable to complete these between residencies. Our site team works hard to ensure there is minimal disruption but we do apologise in this instance disruption was caused. The refurbished kitchens at Albion House have been well received by residents on completion, and include 2 under-counter fridges and 2 freezers. A new purpose build communal area / social space is already near completion ahead of 2024/25 intake. Thanks, The Albion House team
Overall experience was great. Made some amazing friends.
Far from uni/ very disconnected from main broadgate building. close to many supermarkets
Hi, We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. Albion House is around 15 minutes walk from University Park West Entrance, and there is a tram stop around 5 minutes walk away which can be used to travel to campus. It is a bit further away from campus than Broadgate Park, however is an affordable option that includes free parking and offers both postgraduate and undergraduate quiet living accommodation. Thanks, The Albion House Team
Good people who helped me out. The place is depressing though and too expensive for what it is. Kitchen renovation was a welcome upgrade halfway though.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s great that you had a good experience with the people at Albion House, and that the kitchen refurbishment improved your stay. To support a positive, social environment, a new social space at Albion House is being introduced for the 2024/25 intake. This is a brand new, purpose built social space / common area available to all Albion House residents that we hope will further improve all residents’ experiences at Albion House. Thanks, The Albion House Team
A great place to live in. Felt homely at every time!
So expensive, I will let it next year because, it is so expensive, and it is not deserved that price, but may be rent it again if you do good discount for me especially that I lived for 2 years there
Really clean accommodation and good value for money, with the location being close to many shops
in a great location, not any social spaces at this particular accommodation, but there are other social spaces you have access to in a different accommodation.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're really pleased you enjoyed the location of Albion House! A new social space at Albion House is currently being developed and will be complete ahead of the 2024/25 intake, meaning all new Albion House residents will have access to a brand new, purpose built social space! Thanks, The Albion House Team
Had a flat with a great group of people. The flat was always tidy, the cleaner was always prompt and did a great job. The new kitchen was much nicer after the renovation. Internet was generally good but occasionally would slow down to 1Mbps. Location is quite far from uni but could walk it in about 25 minutes. Other option was to hop on a tram. The closest stop was only 5-10 minutes away and got me to uni much quicker. Plenty of shops around including a Tesco extra, full size Sainsbury's, decent Lidl and a few others on the high street.
Flat 22 room 1's heater doesn't work during day time!!! You will be freezing but they won't provide any heaters
If you need a place just to sleep and eat it’s fine. Perfectly functional, but the bare minimum. If you’re a postgrad you should be aware that once the undergraduates move out they stop guarding the building, they leave you with only 1 functional washing machine, and the doors stop locking. It’s basically every man for himself once the undergrads have left. Also worth noting that there are silverfish everywhere, there are no provisions for the disposal of sanitary products, and no communal spaces. The cleaning staff are absolutely lovely and always do a good job but that’s the best I can say about Albion. It’s fine but I don’t know anyone who isn’t incredibly excited to see the back of this prison.
The kitchens are much bigger at Albion House than Broadgate Park. It is also in the centre of Beeston which is a nice little town with lots of shops.
I was excited to move into halls, however the advertising for these halls does not give all of the information. I am a 35 minute walk from where I am situated in the university. Meaning that I sometimes have to get a bus. this is expensive for a student but for me to get everything done that I need to in a day, I have no choice but to get the bus. There is no social space (other than broadgate, which is a 10 minute walk from our halls) so as someone who struggles to make friends this didn't help. It also means that there are no sofas in these halls at all, nowhere to sit and relax. Instead we have to sit in bed or on stools at the table.
The management is not good. There are bugs in the lights (the place needs to be fumigated well); Porters although helpful, show up after 4pm, so there's not really any helpful 'receptionist' before that; no social space so minimal contact with others which contributes to more loneliness; kitchens are big though with plenty of equipment; the closeness to Beeston shopping centres is appreciated, but the long walk to Uni park is not. So, management if you're reading this: please add a social space like a JCR; and get the place fumigated!
As Albion is separate from broadgate park we have much more space - our kitchens are much bigger than at main bgp. We also get free parking YAY. However it is really far from uni and most of the things available to bgp aren't to us, including the common room and no buses even go back to Albion during freshers week. There is no social space in Albion other than in your kitchens, which are really uncomfortable. We are however right opposite sainsiburys and round the corner from lidl which is convenient.
