This was the best decision for my post grad year while in Loughborough. Easy access to the town center and campus. The management team is hands on, very friendly and helpful. The facility is clean and fully furnished. I enjoyed my stay at forest court and I will make the same decision over again if I have to.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Avoid! The rooms are okay so long as you get the biggest room, otherwise you're living in a box. Maintenance has been a huge disruption to my studies, with drilling and banging going on most weekdays, so don't even think about studying in your room during the normal working week. When you go to complain, they just suggest going to the library instead, not helpful at all. They have no regard for the student experience at all, and built a swimming pool during the exam period which caused major disruption. Wifi has gone out several times, sometimes for over a week at a time. Security is awful - many bikes have been stolen and there are people who try and get in several times throughout the year which doesn't make you feel the safest. They like to emphasise to students that it is crucial we ensure all doors are locked, but then the maintenance people come and leave them unlocked anyway, so anyone can come into the building if they were trespassing. Avoid at all costs
Security at forest court is very poor. Unfortunately most of the students bikes, including my own, were stolen early on in the year even though these bikes were locked up within the bike shed(which is supposed to be secure in itself) and the bike shed is within the gated compound. Nevertheless the thieves had no difficulty in accessing the bike shed, cutting through all of the bike locks and taking them all. The accomodation manager did absolutely nothing to respond to this incident, they couldnt even be bothered to check the CCTV. No improvements to security have since been implemented. Instead of improving the quality and security of the accomodation the management has instead decided to build a completely unnecessary swimming pool in the court yard. This has taken months and has caused considerable disruption to our studies. On top of this, unlike most other accommodations, no discount was given over lockdown when we couldn't even live here. The gym is dreadful

Very conducive for good studying. Worked together in partners and teams
I really loved my stay here with a private big gym you can use 24 hours a day, big communal area with free netflix and pool table and lots of interaction from the team not mentioning the amazing support I got from Luke the accommodation manager, yes there were a couple of maintenance issues during the stay but I was lucky that the maintenance staff works on site and quickly resolved them with no extra hassle!! if i would be finishing now I would definitely book it for another year!!
Forest Court was a lovely building with great facilities. I really enjoyed my time living here as it was in a great location and everyone one on site is super friendly.
I really enjoyed my time in FC. The common room had just been renovated the summer before I moved in so it was super bright and welcoming for us to use throughout the year. The location is great, particularly if you want to access town & not far from the campus. There's also a car park free to use.
I lived in a small studio, everything was all nice and well until a leak starts to happen, they sent people over and cut a hole in my roof to go up there to inspect and even a couple of management people came in and pretended to asked about the situation and said sorry, and said they will come back again soon to finish the job. It's been two months and the leaking is still happening and still a hole on my roof
If you are given Forest Court don't even bother accepting. You can find accommodation in town at a much lower price and better amenities. Plus they won't let you leave one you accept it. Construction work going on in 2017/2018 6 days a week very loud makes it unbearable to study . Unless you are given Room A or B in the flat the room are very small... too small. Management takes ages to reply to any complaints or maintenance issue and the student accommodation center at Loughborough Uni only cares about the money rather than your satisfaction. Only good thing is that it is located close to the center. As an international student I would recommend to take a few hours and look at what is available in town rather than stay at Forest Court (or any accommodation on campus really).
It was my fault that I didn't imagine the life of Forest Court would it be. I'd prefer Harry French or John Phillips, whatever except Forest Court. (Never ending noise from the construction)
Horrible experience, one building was robbed twice in a week, management office couldn't be worse, noisy building work all year round, some rooms were flooded due to leaked ceilings and were security was horrible
Horrible experience, unbelievably unprofessional management office, noisy building works all year round and a building was robed TWICE within the same week
Try and avoid this accommodation.
I have lived in Loughborough, in student accommodation (both halls and private rentals) for 4 years now and I can honestly say that Forest Court is the worst accommodation in which I have stayed. From day one, I felt like I was more of a nuisance than a tenant. I paid 200 pounds for a parking permit, which is 150 pounds more than I paid for a parking permit in the student triangle, only to find that every time I try and park my car in the Forest court car park, or try and leave, some kind of van or truck is blocking access. This has happened on numerous occasions. On one of my first days as a tenant, our fire alarm was set off. We called the appropriate number to turn the fire alarm off, only to find out that the person responsible for dealing with these kinds of issues was drunk and therefore couldn't drive to the halls. We therefore had to wait nearly an hour for the fire alarm to be switched off. To see more, see the Facebook group 'Forest Court hall 2016-2017'
Newly renovated rooms with the cheapest furniture/equipment possible. It's all made to look nice, and will presumably not last very long. Good luck getting management to take care of your issues...and if they do..expect them to show up unannounced & in your flat without your permission. Contracting is terrible. Im on the ground floor, and can hear all shower/toilet waste water run right down on the other side of my wall like a waterfall. Floors above mine are so loud & creaky. Cleaning lady decides when she wants to show up. The light switches for the bathrooms are literally 8 feet off the ground. The small bedroom is SO UNBELIEVABLY SMALL, very very little room from clothes etc. NO social events, I couldn't even tell you who our subwarden is.. FEW good things about FC, are 1) location= great for postgrads, close to town/markets, easy 15 min stroll to campus. 2) Comfortable mattresses. Will most likely charge loads of money 17-18 year..don't be fooled.
The only thing saving this place to being worth a passable place is because I needed a place to live. There's no cleaning whatsoever on the outside. Management is very laid back so I hope you'll enjoy emailing student accommodation about the numerous problems you'll encounter. The bigger priced rooms are okay and having a tv is great but stops there. Shame to be honest but my experience wasn't as pleasant
Unbelievably atrocious management and cleanliness Flats are brand new yet half of the equipment seems like 3 years old after some months. Internet is provided from uni so no stars for this
Only benefit and deserving of two stars above is the locality. ** This year 2016/2017 has been an absolute disaster. There has been constant construction throughout the year (6 days a week) - REALLY LOUD, zero communication for accomodation/management; when there is communication nothing is done, rooms being entered illegally by builders without any prior warning, and a flood of disasters in the flats. Worse yet, there is zero compensation or apology from Student Bee Hive or Loughborough Accomodation. This is a commonly shared complaint so please talk to ANYONE living in Forest Court and they will verify the above. You will be a postgraduate student looking for peace, quietness, and a place to complete your work. This is NOT the place!
A nightmare!!! 5 months I was living without an active Ethernet connection; Approximately 4 months of overloaded rubbish bins right outside my window; Ceiling as the paint, plaster and dust started to decay and fall from the ceiling in the bathroom; The water boiler started to leak all over the kitchen counters causing degradation and damage (during the water heater issue, we were without hot water for two weeks); pipes fitted for the boiler in the kitchen started to drip due to condensation build up, subsequently water dripped over the sofas, tables and through the path of the pipework; fungus growing on the bathroom ceiling, the collapsing bathroom shelf; short circuit were left without electricity and heating; stains on the ceiling by the door and fungus growing in the carpet; I went to a dermatology appointment at the hospital in regards to a skin condition that I have had since moving into the accommodation. This occurred all over the year! I don't have more space to continue...
very close to the restaurants & bars in town but large gardens mean it is quiet to work from. small car park and friendly atmosphere. i made some good friends whilst i was here.
I am studying at Loughborough Uni and I stayed here for short time. The building is inadequate, poorly maintained and it is run by very inexperienced staff. You have to pay for your stay here towards the start as opposed to monthly for another rental property - unfairly weighting in favour of Student Beehive. I left before the end of my term and I am now taking advice on litigation to recover the amount I paid on the basis of breach of contract - service not as described. Unfortunately for them, this company doesn't understand (or doesn't care about) their legal obligations.
Good location and good price but comes at a cost. There were building works, which meant a lot of noise. Cleaning is poor, dirt and spider webs are left behind by the cleaners. Lots of instances with horrible maintenance issues and that were poorly handled e.g mould on walls and water leaks that took ages to be resolved. There is no desk lamp in the room.
Awful management- even though they were BRAND NEW flats, the building work is such bad quality. Specifically for post-grads so it is quiet and less social which is fine but theres no social events at all organised- doesn't really feel like uni halls. Cleaning is poor in communal areas, always loads of spiders and webs and dirt that they miss. Complained over and over again about various things but they do not act on it. Building work been going on since we moved in, very loud every day, cant concentrate properly!! outside the building there is rubbish everywhere, its never clean!
Forest Court was associated with student accommodation centre of Loughborough University, but not anymore. Great fun to live at Forest Court! Lots of successful social events (conducted by voluntary secretary). Very poor management (not sure who's responsibility, the company or student accommodation centre), I was asked to change rooms twice within one year.
