This is a great place for mature and real adults and not the young people who pretend to be mature and act like adults when they are still kids complaining about everything and mental health issues. It is a quiet accommodation and accessible to everything you might need down the main street.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Hi! Thank you for your review. We are so pleased to hear that you're enjoying your time at Okeford House.
The noise is too much. Nobody seems to care about being quiet, whether it's outside in the garden or the neighbors upstairs. It's really annoying. They said they'd fix up the kitchen and add another fridge for Christmas, but they didn't. If you live on the ground floor, the smoking area is right outside your window, which isn't fair if you don't smoke like me. Nobody seems to care about being noisy. It's ridiculous to have only two washing machines for 85 people. And there's nowhere for people to hang out together. Even though we're adults, most of us are between 18 and 27, and we still need to socialize. So, having a space for that would be great. Also, it would be helpful to have staff available all the time for things like getting packages. Not everyone helps keep the kitchen clean or takes out the trash. Some people cook with smelly foods and leave the kitchen stinky.

Worst accomodation. CLV team does nothing to help rectify issues. The fire alarm goes off all the time. There are only 5 vacuum cleaners for 100 residents and 2 washing machines! The only good thing about Okeford house is the location.

Pros: -Roof over your head -Pretty big room -Good desk Cons: -NO regular on-site staff (student representatives don’t count because they don’t have power) -Constant fire alarms that take at least 15 minutes to be turned off because of con #1 -NO indoor social area -Arrived to a malfunctioning fridge -1 medium-sized fridge for 6 people is not enough -Kitchen door broke twice -Kitchen looks bad even when cleaned -No proactive maintenance, everything is just left to break, then “fixed” with bodged jobs -Maintenance inspections where access to your room is required are too frequent -Literally 2 hoovers, 2 washers and 2 dryers for the whole building to share -Kitchen tap water is weirdly warm, you have to run it for it to resemble “cold” -No AC -Poor airflow within rooms -Terrible dirty curtains don’t block any light- had to buy a duvet cover to hang over the window with hair ties The only reason you would stay here is that this is the only BU postgraduate accommodation

It’s so bad. Even if it’s your last resort, don’t do it. Don’t stay here.
Hi, Thank you for your review, although we regret to hear that you have not had the best possible experience whilst staying at our Okeford House student village.
My stay at Okeford House was nothing short of disappointing. The building was run down, dirty, noisy and smelly. I hated every minute of my stay at okeford house due to the constant noise and lack of security throughout the night. I had many sleepless nights as my room was located next to the main entrance and a smoking area 1 foot away from my window, this prevented me from opening my window or curtains at all. Over time it was my job to open the door for people and collect the post as no one was ever at the front desk to let people in. I felt as though whenever I brought up complaints I was simply pushed aside and had to deal with it myself. It is clear that they are only after your money and don’t take your mental health seriously. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Not worth the money. There are six people and only one fridge, not much maintenance of communal spaces. Complaints haven't been heard either. Very disappointed.

Okeford House is a bit forgotten, I just wish we had more staff here even though we are small accommodation. Fire alarms go off and it takes 20mins for them to arrive. Would have taken a long time for someone to come fix our hob. But bright side, ResLife BU team are super lovely and try their best to make the most of what we have (we dont have a common room but use a cafe down the road - super lovely!) Distance from uni and the close bus system makes it a great spot with a Lidl and loads of cafes on the main road. There's good and bad but I think you can make do with this accommodation.

Absolutely shocking place, don't stay here. It was filthy when we moved in and we were told that cleaning at the end of the tenancy was the responsibility of the previous tenants. There have been so many maintenance problems that haven't been fixed properly; lots of people have had leaking roofs all year. And if you need help with anything there's never anyone on reception. Worst of all, after all this when we were asked to leave because of Covid-19, we were told we still had to pay full rent, despite all the other university accommodation getting a 50% discount. This place is awful, please don't ever live here.
Literally the worst accommodation I've ever lived in. Leaking ceilings, they never fix anything that gets broken, reception is never manned and they don't reply to emails. Their response to corona virus was awful too. DON'T LIVE HERE!
I’m very disappointed. The accommodation is bad and according to the pictures on the site there is a big difference. Carpet and walls are very dirty and apart from that there is a broken cupboard. I definitely don’t recommend it.
Best place ever to live! Well managed maintained house.
