An Outstanding Experience at Winton Halls! My time at Winton Halls was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a team of staff who were not only professional and efficient but also incredibly kind, friendly, and understanding. The reception team always went above and beyond to make sure that every resident felt welcome and supported. One of the standout features of Winton Halls is the strong sense of community they foster. The little touches, like the thoughtful freebies they provide to students, show just how much they care. They also organize a range of holiday events and social activities that really help to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels like they belong. When it comes to maintenance, the team at Winton Halls is nothing short of outstanding. Any issues that arose during my stay were addressed almost immediately, with the maintenance staff consistently proving to be both efficient and reliable.

Bournemouth University (BU)
Arts University Bournemouth (AUB)
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Really please with my choice, I liked being in Winton. Halls were clean and they added a really nice common room during my year.
Such a good time staying here. not a bad walk to uni, good area. repairs were quick when i had one. i would def recommend.
just renewed my room for September, love my room and the location,
For my second year accommodation, Winton Halls turned out to be a really good choice. For the price I was paying, everything was perfectly convenient and well managed. The reception staff were always exceptionally helpful with any issues I had, and maintenance were quick to fix any of my room problems. Although being in Winton it's a bit harder to go town for nights out, it really is the most ideal location to get to school on time, which I guess is a bit more important!
I really enjoyed my time in Winton Halls. It is near shops, supermarkets, close to Uni and bus stops, launderette next to the halls. Lovely area and staff!
Loved living at Winton Halls :) near to lots of shops and was easy to get to town from there, close to the uni so I could walk there! Building was always clean and the rest of the people staying there were really nice. Stuff got sorted pretty quickly if I ever had any issues. Overall a really good experience!
Worst mistake of my AUB experience. I was a student at AUB 2015-2018 and had a fantastic time, the only downside to my whole experience was living at these halls. Over £600 rent per month as a student which cost more than my student loan - leaving no money for food/anything else unless I worked. This would be fine if the accommodation was worth the money, however it was the worst living experience I have ever had while being the most expensive. Winton Halls offered NO social areas, a complete lack of air conditioning (and the third floor heat was unbearable) while not even being on a bus route towards AUB. The only method of travel was walking nearly 30 mins to get to uni. My 'self contained' flat consisted of a Microwave that broke within 2 months of living there, a small fridge, and a two ring hob. Every appliance supplied was of the bare minimum quality (£5 kettle from Wilkos) as well as the desk and single bed being wholly unsubstantial. Stay away from this place.
You don’t have a common room at all, social spaces are limited and TVs only got put in flats after 5 months of being there!! The WiFi is awful, there’s no regular cleaning done like other flats and some flats get a lot more then others. Most microwaves and ovens are either broken or about to blow up and requests are ignored about them! Your not in town so expect to not go out much due to taxi prices either!
I made some great friends for life here and enjoyed treating myself to a HUGE dessert in Spinkles downstairs on rainy winter days. I loved having my own bathroom - now I'm working I'm sharing a flat and miss having my own space when I need me time.
Wow.. I don't know if some of these reviews were in the same building but I guess haters gotta hate! I had a great time here - short walk to Uni, good shops nearby for stocking up the fridge and when my window handle got stuck I just reported it online and they fixed it the next day. Good times... :)

Just booked my room for next year and really excited to hear they're planning to face lift most rooms and provide a common room and furnished garden area, brilliant.
Good value for money and clean environment and friendly staff / management,
The only reason I stayed at these halls is cause I got a double bed.. but it was so not worth it man These halls are so bad. Our chairs were torn, walls were chipped, carpet was stained, the mop was broken and the vacuum cleaner was broken (throughout the year). My shower has been broken from the beginning of the year, the walls are so thin (you can literally hear everything) and one time water from my flatmates shower went into my other flatmates bedroom and all her stuff was soaked. The launderette downstairs is possibly the most expensive laundry place in the country. It's a 20 minute walk from uni which is amazing but then it's a half hour bus ride to everywhere else that's worth going. You can't receive mail in the evening or over the weekend. There's no overnight security and the main door breaks every once in a while. It's also hot as hell inside (especially on 3rd floor cause 'hot air rises'). Wifi is horrible. Just go to Madeira or get a house bruh
There are some major problems with this building. First of all the management are a bunch of thieves. They don't give a damn about your complaints and in the end of your tenancy they will ROB you. When you first enter the halls make sure to take CLEAR pictures of: ALL the carpets All the utilities the mattress the shower doors (very important. they charge everyone for the salt on the doors when they give it to you in a bad condition from the start) and aaaany minor defect you see. Trust me, they are thieves. the Internet is bad, the communal areas are next to none and all that would be fine if the halls were cheap but they are waaaay too expensive for what they are.
Halls are close to university but far enough away that you can get to know the local area. In a good location for personal needs with shops and food places close.
It was quite nice, quite, spacious and lovely.
I hated my stay there with every fiber of my being. While I still made some great friends and had a good time there, the services offered by the university were disturbingly lacking.
Halls are falling apart, no common room and I hardly see anyone that live in halls. A new sprinkles opened downstairs and it's always loud and my flat smells like sugar all the time. There have been things complained about at the beginning of year in September that still haven't be fixed in March. Management doesn't seem to listen to what there is to be said, and the halls aren't clean. Such a shame how they've neglected it when the location is this good.
Worth it for the en-suites and location
En suites Location - right by Parry Williams and Hugh Owen, closest halls to Students Union and Arts Centre
