Have been living here for a while now, everytime I have a problem it gets fixed as soon as possible, everyone who works here is super friendly and approachable, the location is extremely convenient with bus stops close by, a supermarket across the road and walkable distance to university of Aberdeen, with regular social events for people to meet each other from different flats and every student locations. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat for anyone new to the city :)

Looking for student accommodation with a sociable atmosphere? Then look no further than The Old Fire Station. The property is situated in the heart of Aberdeen and is within easy reach of the University of Aberdeen. There is a bus stop right outside the property, ready and waiting to take you to Robert Gordon University. The residence is only minutes away from the city centre, meaning you have everything you need on your doorstep.
The building is equipped with all the bells and whistles. When wanting to unwind after class, you can hang out in the common room and watch TV, play a game of pool, challenge your friends to table football or have a BBQ in the outdoor social space. There are also handy amenities for you to use, including a vending machine, laundrette, super-fast broadband, bike storage, on-site parking for an additional fee, all-inclusive rent and 24/7 security.
Residents have the option of staying in an en-suite room or self-contained studio, all of which have been designed with students' needs in mind. I found when I stayed there was little socialising outwith flats and people organising their own social events (this was precovid). If you're a sociable person you'll be grand - if you prefer organised events look elsewhere as everything unite planned was at causeway halls

Has been ace, moved here from Don Street House accommodation and the staff have been lovely and so helpful. Sometimes the wifi plays up but all I need to do is disconnect and reconnect.

Lovely staff, happy to assist with problems, nice social area. Decent location for food shop/corner shops/easy access for bus. Lots of storage in bedroom/kitchen. Poor value for money, room was not cleaned when first arrived or kitchen space + no kitchen curtain, mould in the shower + in freezer on arrival, noisy- can hear above flat toilets flushing, sockets could be in better space. more suitable for uni of aberdeen students.

Poor value for money. Small bedroom. Was not clean when I first arrived. Mould in fridge on arrival. Confusing how to use cooker/hob. No lamp shade. Noisy. No curtain in kitchen. Nice social area. Plenty of storage.

The old fire station is an old building with unique characteristics within it. Some flats are better than others, some are more spacious and better value for money. Bedrooms are newly decorated. All bathrooms are wet rooms which does mean that you can't have anything free standing or toilet roll in your bathroom and drains can get slow at draining very quickly. Heating in the rooms can be an issue however maintenance are very helpful at trying rectifying the issue. The majority of staff on reception especially management are very helpful and are keen to rectify problems as soon as possible. Maintenance team are very keen for a quick turn around of maintenance issues and on the whole will rectify any issues within the working day. Safety team majority of the time are no where to be seen and at times if there is an urgent issue (such as keys not working or the fuse box tripping,) past 6pm it can be difficult to get it resolved and staff on the phone can be rude.

I’ve definitely been enjoying staying here, it’s about a 15 minute walk from uni which is ideal and the location is pretty much surrounded by everything I need. Also, the staff are always really friendly and they’ve always been able to help me when I ask. The social spaces are great and the property always seems clean. However WiFi can be a little slow sometimes but that is to be expected with how many people use it.

Nice accommodation and they have a very good service. I booked a room at first and after seeing it, it didn’t suit my preference and the staff at old fire station were nice enough to change it to my preferred room.

TOO EXPENSIVE THE CAR PARK!! Do you know the car park is empty and your still charging stupid fees, I swear I would honestly pay like £15 but your sooo expensive that I ain't paying anything and not staying.

I had the most incredible stay at my current accommodation in Aberdeen. It's located near the city center, which made it super convenient for exploring the area and enjoying all the amazing hangout spots. The place itself is perfect - cozy, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a great lifestyle. I loved how close it was to all the amenities I needed. The staff have been incredible during my stay, they’re all super friendly and sweet - the conversations are amazing and they’re like friends! (with amazing advice too). They’ve been the best part of staying here as well as the accom being in such a great spot and so close to the city.

Wonderful people, had some issues at the start with accommodation that were helped with massively by facilities manager Daniel, and receptionist Kayley who were both great people. The staff as a whole, especially Tara, have been great to speak to every time I get a parcel as well.

I recently moved into the old fire station accommodation in September, from the very moment I arrived the staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Whenever there may be a problem staff are always there for you and equipment is fixed quickly. I love it here and can’t wait to spend the rest of the year here!

Despite the friendly staff, run-down building with obsolete equipment. Other major complaints included heating being cut off despite the cold (I ended up having to wear sweaters/jackets indoors during the day), and the lack of cleanliness. For the high price, it's surprising to see such irregular cleaning services. Overall, a very underwhelming experience and most tenants slowly left for better places elsewhere.

The place is perfect if you are looking for a reasonable price, the rooms are quite good. I was living in the -1 rooms which are the biggest and have a huge kitchen but it came with a huge problem. The wifi is 2.4Gz meaning it is a very slow wifi, most of the time I have to avoid whatsap video calls and films in the phone because it just doesn’t handle it, I fixed the problem with the computer by buying a Ethernet cable, but nothing can be done on the phones.

I lived here for 2 years, it's really convenient to not have to pay separate utility bills and the booking process is incredibly accessible and smooth for the most part. My experience was much better once I moved in with my friends in my second year, as living with strangers is hard sometimes. Great location, easy to get to my uni campus and town, pretty much everything is in walking distance. Nice outdoor spaces and benches. It is annoying that staff can come in and out of flats as they please, and the heavy fire doors are really loud. The property also changed management right at the beginning of my second year and we were given next to no notice and very little information about this, and there were some issues as a result of the change over. There are also frequent issues with the showers, such as drainage problems and poor water pressure. Usually it's not too difficult to get things fixed but it can be frustrating when these issues recur multiple times.

Old building with lots and lots of maintenance issues. Contractor visiting all the time and all the noises from working makes it hard to tolerate. Expensive rooms but no appropriate social spaces matching the rent.

It takes pretty long time for the property (e.g. lift) to get repaired, but it's a good place to live in during the uni years in overall - could tell as I've been living in this accomodation for 3 years.

A lot of things broke like our hob was broke before we moved in. Both the fridge and oven light had to be replaced too but the management came and fixed it quickly so that was good. £10 for a new keycard is a bit expensive I think though because you can’t help if you loose it maybe after the second or third charge but not straight away

Overall, The Old Fire Station is ok student accommodation in my opinion. However, customer service is extremely poor; I was promised a LifeStyle voucher by October 2022 and I am still yet to receive this as of June 2023, staff are not helpful at resolving this issue.

The old fire station is a good place to live in general - excellent location, lovely receptionists, ok rooms, but the building is quite old and you can definitely tell. Also the maintenance team is not the fastest, best nor most considerate of people living in the flats. Also the cleanliness is not the best. Depending on what you value most it is worth the money, but if you want modern and problem-free living (no issues with the building or flat etc) I probably would not choose the Old fire station.

This place is okay but not value for money in terms of bills. The heater does not always turn on so my room would be left freezing cold many times and the staff could not do anything about it. So as a result I would often fall sick. The hot water also randomly turns off after a while in the shower. I would never live here again

I'm grateful I have a place to stay, the accommodation space is reasonable and close to the the university. If anything I would have looked for accommodations earlier, so I don't stress about were to live so close to term start dates.

Perfect location in centre of Aberdeen with morrisons and main bus stops right outside. However the flats aren't the cleanest and the laundry room is often busy making washing inconvenient

It’s been quite nice living here, although I don’t feel that there’s enough community social spaces to hang out with and meet people in. I sometimes struggle to meet new people and I’ve found it more difficult this year than last year.

The accomodation is nice, however not having double bed rooms could be quite annoying. The reception’s staff is very friendly. The flats are okay but just need to be lucky enough to get nice and clean flatmates. The location of the accomodation is perfect for a student going to the uni of Aberdeen. We have lots of facilities near by, such as Morrisons, halal shop, African shop etc.. for groceries; hairdresser salon for both ladies & gents. And the bus stops are Litterally 2 mins walk. Such a nice accomodation honestly.

Heating doesn't work as described, its always cold, never turns on. Doors are too loud, and even though there are simple solution, no one has bothered to even attenuate the issue, which has been disrupting my sleep throughout my whole stay. Not coming back

Overall ok- good location and handy having bills included but the building is falling apart, even when we’ve put in requests for maintenance, sometimes nothing gets done. Also have had a big issue with being promised a voucher when I signed the contract last year which I never received.

The rooms are a great size especially compared to others I've seen, I like having only four other flatmates, it means keeping clean is easy & nothing is too loud. The staff are really friendly & super quick to resolve any issues.

Old fire station is a great location and the price for an en-suite room is very reasonable. However, the property is very cold and the heating doesn’t work properly!

I have spent two years at the old fire station, when it used to be owned by unite student. I feel like unite did a better job at affordability where every student have upped the price of rooms and now charge £10 for a key card etc. Overall, they provide a safe space for students in a good location.

Most of my time here was plagued by a very poor WiFi connection - however it is now fixed and works fairly well. Room had a few faults during my stay however the staff were very helpful in resolving these issues quickly so it was never much of a bother. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and always offer their best efforts and have made staying here feel more homely. The rooms are spacious and unbeaten in quality of desk and storage amenities. The bathroom is difficult to maintain but it all comes at a reasonable cost.
It’s a good accommodation. It has really helped me since my scholarship money has been delaying and the have time to follow up with me and all without giving me pressure

Good central location, good common room for meeting up with friends. Secure and safe. When I arrived for my STL late , Hazel in safety was very helpful checking me in and showing me around.
Stayed here for 2 years now and couldn’t recommend the place enough. I feel very safe with the security team and the staff. Hazel is great as once we were locked out and she was a massive help in getting this issue resolved and really put me at ease with the situation.

The Old Fire Station is such value for money compared to uni owned student accommodation. It's a quiet place to live. The staff are so friendly and Angie and Gary are legends and so friendly. TOFS is central and literally only a 10-15minute walk to the city centre, perfect if you enjoy the student night life.
I've stayed at the Old Fire Station for 3 years now. Everyone at the site is very friendly and helpful, especially Angie! The location is great. Just a short walk from city centre, AU and Morrisons across the road. There are also regular bus services into town and RGU from outside the front door.

This place has been everything that I expected from the website. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. You get people here from different universities and different ages which means that the vibe is quite different to the more party focused university owned student housing.
Been here 2 years and booked again for next year. Security are really nice and Maintenance are quick and efficient whenever there's a problem. Staff are also always very friendly and helpful (Angie and Gary!)
Have stayed at the Old Fire Station for three years in a row and I couldn't have hoped for a better accomodation. I really wanted an ensuite room and the OFS offers those for a really affordable price! Staff is super nice and helpful (shoutout to Angie and Gary) and there's regularly events held in the common room for everyone to socialize. Overall would 100% recommend!

I have stayed at The Old fire Station for over 3 years. The location of the property is perfect for jumping on the bus to RGU, there is a bus stop just outside the property. There is a supermarket right next door to the property too - Morrisons. The site is in the city centre and the main shopping centres are 5 minutes away. The property is great, there is a very large common room with a free pool table / football table. There is a an area where you can watch tv and a seperate study area with printers onsite. The staff are very friendly, Angie the housekeeper ensures the property is sparkling, great to chat with too. We recently had a new guy start at reception gary, hes so helpful and very friendly.
Great value for money this building is the most perfect location - half way between Aberdeen University and Union Street and also directly opposite Morrisons
