King Street Exchange offers 3/4 beds, which are slightly bigger than a single bed for extra comfort. Additionally, we offer convenient bedding packs for students who prefer not to carry heavy bedding from home or the store. You can easily order and pay for these bedding packs through your Every Student portal account.

At King Street Exchange catering is not provided.
That is because each flat has a kitchen with plenty of storage spaces and appliances (stove, fridge, kettle, microwave). This is shared among the students in the flat, guaranteeing plenty of opportunities to chat with all your flatmates! On our Blog you can find fantastic and easy recipes to enjoy with friends!

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

It was a bit tough when we got kicked out but u guys have been nice since. Having an en suite for less the price is a very decent trade off. Staff have been nice, and I respect them.

Facilities work well, quick response from maintenance team whenever needed, wish there were more laundry machines but the ones that are here work well

Reception, Customer service and maintenance stuff are all great, very helpful and friendly. Reception is no longer open on Weekends and only 10-5 weekdays, can make getting parcels difficult since they removed the intercom and replaced with a doorbell for the 24/7 reception…that stopped being 24/7 2 weeks later Wifi providers: Glide is very slow to respond to reported problems. All of UoA Kings College campus is within a 10min walk, bus stop right outside building served by services from FirstBus, Stagecoach, and Ember. Allowing very easy access to city Centre, RGU Campus, NESCOL, Kittybrewster & Berryden Retail Parks. Bus stop 2mins up the road gives you easy access to Tesco Extra, Beach Boulevard Retail Park & Cordonas as well as Peterhead, Ellon and Fraserburgh. The 20A (Nightbus to Hillhead Student Village) also stops right outside. Overall a very good location for easy access to public transport.

So far really enjoying my time at the King Street Exchange. The rooms and kitchen are spacious, and really maximise storage space. You couldn't be any closer to the University of Aberdeen and getting into town is easy. Would definitely recommend.

We don’t have social spaces like the other Every Student buildings in Aberdeen, but the staff seem very nice and the place is relatively clean

Perfect distance from the university with sizeable kitchens and bedrooms. Little in the way of social spaces though.

Taps in the kitchen with mixed water will be good
The staff are very considerate and helpful. Any issues with the flay are seen to nearly immediately every time. The location is great and super convenient.

Would not recommend unless really stuck for anywhere else. Highly advise you look at other options. Being very close to Aberdeen Uni is the main benefit. Rooms are very small and lack good storage. The under the bed storage seems useful except that you have to move the mattress to get into it so it's not practical for regular access. The Bathrooms are very poorly ventilated and you can strongly smell everyone's cooking in your bathroom as the minimal ventilation they do have is all connected. The windows don't open fully. Make sure your room has natural light access. Some of the rooms are blocked in by the Złoty shop and so get no sunlight at all. The walls are paper thin so you better hope you neighbour doesn't like "singing" at 3am every night. Some of the staff are really kind and helpful and some are completely useless and don't seem to have a clue what is going on. Random fire alarm test and vague notice about when they might need access. AVOID!

The apartment is very close to the school. You can reach the campus in 3 minutes across the road. The front desk staff of the apartment are very enthusiastic.

King Street Exchange is in an amazing location. While it's not perfect, I have no regrets staying here this year.

Close to Aberdeen university, slightly further for RGU. Felt slightly old fashioned compared to others but has everything you need.

King Street Exchange is a really nice place to live. It is 5 minutes from the University of Aberdeen and 10 min from Lidl. I have amazing flatmates and I will probably keep in touch with them for a long time. The people working in the accomodation are really helpful and nice to talk to. The only thing I would regret is not having more socials organised with other Every student accomodations.

It's fine. The location is ideal (right beside the university). The wifi is great and I had no issues with it. The front desk staff are a bit of a mix. Some of them are great but some are extremely unhelpful. There isn't much for social space and it's challenging to meet people. I would recommend it for a reasonably priced accommodation, but don't expect too much extra

The location is excellent – it's only a short walk to campus, and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and other amenities nearby. The staff were always friendly and helpful whenever I had any questions or issues. They were also very responsive when it came to maintenance requests, and any problems I had were always resolved quickly.

Paul Allan is a legend, staff are brilliant.
Excellent experience overall. Paul and Scott are very good people and really polite to everyone. Thier attitude made me recommend a few more friends to the facility and their liking it.

Great accommodation. Really friendly and helpful staff. Paul has done an amazing job. Washing machines are annoying as don’t always connect and also having to pay out for washing is an extra expense not needed. Also need a social space in king street for events and to chill
There are no disadvantages except that the room is small. In particular, I was very satisfied with the delivery. I would receive an email to remind me that the delivery had arrived. Paul was also very responsible and careful. All in all, very good.

I am an engineering student at Aberdeen University and I have lived at King Street Exchange for the last 2 years (booked on for a 3rd year). Value for money is excellent, all bills included in a safe area, lovely warm rooms with your own bathroom, under bed storage and lightning fast internet (I get 80 mb/s download). You have an app on your phone for any issues including maintenance, lockouts or noise complaints with staff available 24/7! I was seriously ill last February and my parents embarrassingly were able to have a member of staff check on me (I was sleeping all day). The location is truly best case scenario. Within 5 min walk you have: Aberdeen University, Lidl, take-aways, barber, SPAR, pubs, Aberdeen Sports village <- amazing facility and super cheap for students. Angela the site manager is very friendly and keeps everyone up to date with news and events happening around Aberdeen via information boards. Anything I have ever needed has been taken care of immediately.

This building is located directly opposite Aberdeen University, there is no closer building to live in. The staff are friendly and it is great value for money
