I haven’t really explored the society’s as it’s my first week, but the sport academy are so nice and welcoming. They have a wide range of different sports you can do such as female/male basketball, mixed badminton and athletics.

My experience so far has been great, attending all lectures and trying to understand and soak in as much as imo possibly can.
The university is pretty impressive and big. I have yet to explore the whole campus but looking at what I’ve seen so far I’m curious what else there will be to see and explore. Pretty easy to commute to the university from Paddington.
The university provides a variety of support for DSA student and no DSA students. There is a lot of diversity within the university. Staff are always willing to help.
I’m very content with the building, it’s a lovely place to live and facilities here are nice and clean. Breakfast are brilliant.
Good facilities, diversity of students with supportive stuff and great quality of services.
The contact hour is very limited.
Good, but not the best. Would not recommend as the first choice
It a good university with perfect atmosphere and teaching faculty. almost every facility is available which a student needs.
The course "Children's Nursing" can aggravating and difficult at times. Though the lectures are mediocre but nothing to complain about too much, the staff are very strict on professionalism and show quite a dislike towards their students. It is natural to favour certain students more than others but the divide becomes contrasting when compared to lesser outspoken students. They preach about supporting students and the acts of compassion as part of the NMC but they're pretty ruthless. For example, I am an advocate at the importance of punctuality, but the tutors will refuse anyone from entering their sessions past 9am even if you're a minute late. It doesn't matter if you had genuine reasons that delayed your journey, they pretty much just blame it all on you and question your skills as a professional. This anecdote is just one minor example of the brutality of the staff working at LSBU. Don't expect any support from this university, that's just the way things are.
Very anti social university but good teaching from what I’ve experienced so far
The location isn't the best, but the university is worth it
Very good environment I love it Wonderful excellent
The uni is good McLaren house is some joke
Amazing facilities, cannot fault them. Wifi can be dodgy but that's to be expected. The clubs and societies are a bit on the rubbish side generally, there's very little effort put into them and you get the vibe no one really cares.
London Southbank is ranked in the bottom 11% of UK universities (https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/) for a reason. Course Depth: The overall course is lacking valuable content. My A-Levels and GCSE's have covered topics in greater detail than my course modules. Course Content: 90% of the content delivered on the course is contained in PowerPoints. A standard LSBU PowerPoint consists of images taken from other sources online and bullet points covering the topic. It is essentially information readily available online taken, recycled and organised slightly. I find the result is hard to engage with and lacking any depth or insight. Lecturers consistently read almost word for word from the already dry PowerPoints for 2 hours straight. I could simply read the PowerPoint myself. Or find an engaging resource online to learn the same topic in a fraction of the time. Please don't attend this university! I would write more but this review box has a limit.
The university is quite well situated
Good experience, the tutors are helpful.
Honestly my review of this university is absolutely dreadful. The level of help and support that's given it is abysmal. The lectures are pretty much a coin flip, half the time you get a decent lecturer that actually wants to teach and makes and effort and the other half you might as well teach yourself. Don't even get started on McLaren house halls, if you wish to be respected and treated with human decency then I would stay well away.
Excellent course and societies that have provided me with useful employability skills
It's alright, not much else to add. Shame about covid and the it system being down for a month and a bit.
Great student accommodation and very nice reception staff, cheers!
Facilities very well designed and staff are friendly. Very easy to around A complete safe environment.
Great University! Convenient location in the heart of London. Tutors are amazing! There are some issue with delayed information, but as I previously mentioned- staff is awesome and helpful. Good library, gym and sporting classes. The campus is modern and beautiful with spacious classes. Would recommend it
I'm really happy being at LSBU.
Please avoid this place like the plague, don't make the same mistake I did.
Great place to be and excellent senior lecturer that alway there to help.
Waste of time. Tutors more interested in getting your money and then focussing on thier own time especially in Media and Design faculty. Dont risk putting your future in the hands of these uncaring, immoral and unprofessional people.
Hi There, I'm the dude from Germany who studied for more thsen 10years at this university. Great teachers, toilets are modern and clean. Good coffee. Highly recomanded +++++ ;-) Application can de done over phone. Best you dont show up to class. This university is ++++++
Don't go there if you want to do your Architect part 2.The teachers not organised they never teach anything about design, expect tech teacher, the studio teacher they will seat there all year in the seat to have a coffee, chat and to kill your confidence nothing else. I don't know why they get paid? or charge the courses 900.250 and do nothing. I'm very disappointed
Take no admissions. Specially if u r Indian ...very bad
This university is a scam !!!!!!!!, they show no support to thier students , if your going through depression they use that as your weakness to try and take money from you , the staffs there are rude
International student - MSc in Construction Project Management. LSBU have a centrally located campus. Their applications process (when I applied) was good and fairly quick. The enrolment process was badly managed, badly communicated and incredibly frustrating. The facilities are terrible, classrooms poorly heated and awful. Assuming you can find one, the bathrooms are badly maintained and dirty. The wayfinding and pathways to get around the campus are convoluted, impractical, frustrating and difficult. The library is dreadful. Poor DDA, poor facilities (those unclean toilets again), awful student study spaces, ill-equipped print rooms and too few catalogues. The library website is even worse, clearly designed by people who have never heard the phrase 'user experience'. The teaching staff are not particularly driven, nor is my cohort. Assessment seems arbitrary and slap dash. Strap in for a frustrating ride.
Avoid it. Go somewhere else, used to be access to the placements this university had for nursing where unique, now multiple universities have them so go to them instead.
I don't know where to begin with this Uni, I studied Business for two years with them as a part time student. The only good thing about this Uni is the location. The staff are disorganised, the toilets are never clean, and there IT infrastructure and support is a joke! Although I met a couple of nice teachers along the way, this Uni is so badly organised that it really should not offer part time study. I wouldn't recommend this Uni to my worst enemy. There are other Unis that offer way better services for less money!
As with everything, there's ups and downs. The uni is quite good for subjects like engineering, health and social care/ nursing etc. but may be lacking in some other areas. They have great emphasis on practicals, we did engineering labs almost every week, and most lecturers have worked in industry. The careers advice is good, they have a 'job shop' and business/ entrpreneurs hub' which helps student startups with office space and mentoring.
Renovation works underway, library is good
Some of the facilities are good, could be more social stuff
I did my first degree in Engineering and few years later I returned to do a masters degree. The quality of education is great, the facilities are well maintained and lecturers are helpful. It’s true that the majority of lecturers are foreign but I must admit they are bright scientists from advanced industrial countries such as China, Japan, Iran, Russia and Malaysia. Some were from Cambridge University. Degrees are as good as you invest in them, so the tutors give students the opportunity to learn to pass and also learn to excell hence minimum expectations are always clear and it’s up to the student to exceed expectations. I graduated with First Class and got a higher merit for my masters. I excelled in the industry being equipped with everything they taught me. Couple of years later, I was granted a full scholarship for PhD in a top university after competing with 3000 students. London Southbank gives you freedom to evolve based on your capacity, time and effort.
Centrally located in London, but other than that it's not a great university. I'm sure it's good for subjects like Nursing which it ranks highly, but on the more academic subjects you are let down by the calibre of students (no discipline or drive) and a 'do the minimum' type attitude that comes from staff and students. You are not set up to succeed.
Don't apply here unless you like being disappointed
I was very excited to go to Uni as a mature student, I attended Digital Film and Video, BA. Now called Film Practice. I was very disappointed with this course. I found LSBU to be badly organised. In 3 years I Iearned very little at Uni. Some tutors were very unhelpful, I learned more from other students, including editing than I learned from the tutors. Many students said they had learned more at college. They arranged collaborations with other Uni's and Depts which they did not oversee, leading to very stressful situations. Boasted of connections with The London Studios but no evidence of it ever seen. Industry speakers promised but only a couple came in at the end, after class complained. They did supply some internship opportunities after graduation but overall I would not recommend LSBU.
Has the feel that they tried to make it modern but still feels very outdated, Over 10+ people I know have already dropped out from their course, if you check the stats then you know not to come to this uni, not even a uni feeling more like a relaxed college.
Loved my three years here, campus is really central you couldn't be more in the middle of everything. The halls are amazingly priced for London rental and the transport links are amazing buses to all over, every few minutes and there are Northern and Bakerloo line stations all over the area. The SU are great and there's always events going on in the SU bar, and there's a good number of coffee /food stops all over campus. The only negatives from my experience were (1) the organisation of course works, deadlines and feedback - but theses are a subject or lecturer based issues. And (2) the societies; there's a great number of sports available and there's the gs like LGBT, subject and political/religious groups but we didn't seem to have any 'fun/silly' societies like Real Ale, Harry Potter or Gaming; so the societies available might not appeal to everyone but you are in London so chances are there's something outside of the Uni for you.
