All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

My experience at Mezzino Creek Court has been amazing! The rooms are comfortable, the location is great, with many shops and bus stations nearby, and the accommodation manager is very welcoming and helpful.

Had an amazing time here and will rebook. John is an amazing manager and a very warm, welcoming and comfortable presence who makes your time here very easy.
This is greatly appreciated, I look forward to making your stay in London enjoyable for another year!
Very convenient for Trinity Laban and Greenwich students. Tesco and Sainsbury just outside. 10 min walk to DLR and buses right outside.
Thank you kindly for your feedback!
I liked my time here in Mezzino. The staff members were always helpful and friendly.

A good experience, good area and good value for money.
Thank you so much for your feedback!
John is the best really, never disappoints
Thank you for your kind words!
I would recommend, I'm glad I booked this accommodation. It's fairly close to my Uni, I study in North Greenwich. There's a lot of transport options too: Bus stops directly outside, Cutty Sark station 10min walk, Deptford station 10 min walk, there are cycle lanes divided from the road right outside too. The management of the accommodation has been great, any issues get resolved quickly once reported. There's an office that deals with accepting parcels and any lockouts etc during the day, overnight there's a number you can call if you have any issues or get locked out. The campus also feels pretty safe, there's gate you scan your tag to get in and out. There's also a lot of shops nearby: a Sainsbury's directly next to it and a Tesco just across the road. My room is a good size and all rooms have an ensuite, so far I've always had hot water too so that's a bonus. There's storage above the desk, under the bed and also a wardrobe.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are delighted to hear you are happy with your accommodation!
I am a postgraduate student and have stayed at various student accommodations in London. I have to say that Mezzino Creek Court is hands down my favourite option and I would always book my room here again. The location is great and Greenwich Park is only 10 minutes away, which is perfect to get some fresh air between your study sessions. DLR and tube are nearby, too, and there is a 24h bus stop right outside of the accommodation. I also have to highlight that the accommodation manager John is the most professional, attentive and friendly human being I have ever met. He knows all students by name and always makes sure any issues are dealt with swiftly and professionally. I am very happy with my choice and highly recommend it to everyone else, who wants to get value for money!

My stay at Creen Rd was very positive, it has an excellent location (shops, transportation and leisure very close), the facilities are very clean and safe, and the treatment from the administration was excellent. Without a doubt, I recommend this place to reside while you are completing your studies.

I loved staying in Creek Court. The location is great...beautiful and safe area with a park just a mile away. Perfect place for students not familiar with the city. Many shops nearby to choose form. Good transport connection to central London. Caring and nice staff. During my stay, the manager helped me deal with a problematic neighbour. Whenever I had an issue, it was resolved promptly. I recommend the place:)
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with Mezzino Creek Cour, we are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us!
I dealt with a loud snorer next door to me that I could hear through the plaster pin board wall, and I found it very lonely (& expensive) But other than that it was good.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are sorry to hear your neighbour was a loud snorer, however it is not uncommon to occasionally come across a certain level of domestic noises in all type of residential properties - especially in purpose-built student accommodation. We actually looked into installing snoring-detectors in all of our rooms, but apparently it would be a GDPR breach to do so.
My stay with Mezzino couldn't be better! I had direct bus to elephant and castle where I went to school. The property is located in a stones throw away from 7-11s Sainsbury and Tesco. Greenwich park is about 12 minutes walk and is a great place to relax after a long day. There's also good spots for food and site seeing in the vicinity. As a student, all your needs are met - work desk, WiFi, laundry, storage. I stayed in an ensuite and it was very comfortable. Maintenance was attended to promptly whenever you requested for it on the website. Shout out to our manager, John who was very approachable. Would definitely recommend for students going to school in London.
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate the shout out :D
During my stay, I felt safe and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and the overall vibe of the accommodation is positive. Any concerns or maintenance requests were addressed promptly. Although my overall experience was positive, I would recommend introducing more social events for residents to further enhance the sense of community within the accommodation.
Thank you for your feedback and for the suggestions. We will certainly look into this!
I really enjoy staying here, create many experiences and make new friends and it’s a short distance from here to my university which makes it perfect
Thank you kindly for your positive review.
Great accommodation, amazing staff and good location!
Thank you for your feedback!
Staying here has given me wonderful experiences. I've met so many other students here from different universities through the common room that all student in the buildings can come and relax and have fun. It has been a great way for me to collaborate with people of the same interest as me. The rooms come with a shared kitchen full of the basic necessities and my flat mates have been nothing but helpful to maintain a cleanly environment to cook and hang out in. My room like the other comes with great Wi-Fi and an ethernet plug for those with PC's. The staff are really helpful even during the night. John who works in the office is the kindest person you'll ever meet, he remembers everyone who stays in the building and offers as much help as he possibly can. Mathew who used to work on my first year of staying in mezzino was the best maintenance man was a great person to chat with while he would fix any problems you had with your room. Overall, great student accommodation. :)
Thank you for your kind review, we are always doing our best to improve our tenants' accommodation experience :)
This is a really good place to live, with all of beautiful surroundings including parks and etc. Shopping centers are right in the entrance and nice transport nearby which can take a person anywhere to London. The rooms are nice and comfortable to live, so overall I would say it is great place to stay.
