I absolutely love Falmouth University! The course, I am doing, and how you can just be involved with the University are great. I chose Falmouth purely not just because of the course but how lovely the place is near the sea, the amazing state-of-the-art facilities and the general community vibe it has with everyone. It really is quite a homely place. Most people are lovely and it is a very comfortable place to live and study in. Would highly recommend if you want to live near the sea, not have to travel far to campus and want to live in a small town that's not overwhelming.

Pretty good, everyone here are very friendly and welcoming. There are many students of different background which allows for wonderful opportunities to interact with and learn from everyone. There is a more relaxed atmosphere here, but in a way that allow you to better focus on your studies (compared to the hustle of city life) while taking care of your own wellbeing, I love it here.
Falmouth University has a beautiful quiet campus. There are multiple facilities available for students to explore their creative worms in. The faculty is knowledgeable and helpful. It is a great place to study. The town is very quiet and lots of places to explore.

I study Drawing and I will be heading into my second year this year. I love the course so far and wouldnt change a thing about it. The university has excellent facilities, and the lecturers and tutors provide thorough support during your studies

Campus is good. Library open 24/7, plenty of computers and printers. Each department have great facilities. Support for ASK (writing and support) needs more staff as high demand so hard to get a time slot around your timetable. Mental health support is lacking. Staff are hit and miss, some are brilliant, others are overly critical and unhelpful.

A cute little seaside University with beautiful plants everywhere. Large studio spaces and treetops area with lovely natural lighting to work at. It feels like a really productive, encouraging environment with helpful staff.

I’m an Exeter student on Falmouth campus, sometimes feels like we are thought of second. Living in a Cornish town is great although sometimes miss amenities like a kfc :O

Writing as a Games Art student. Campus is fine but pretty spread out. The equipment is the best in the Games Academy and the computers in the Design Centre are slower and might struggle a bit depending on what you’re doing. The wifi around campus is absolutely amazing, but there’s also no service around most of Penryn campus so you can only rely on the Wifi. I don’t remember the wifi failing even once, though.
Friendly lectures, staff and overall campus community. So many opportunities and great people to meet. Love it !

I'm in the Penryn Campus. The facilities are A1. I have acess to all the tools I need for my studies. And my lecturers are all really nice and helpful. Plus, the grounds are nice. There's a small orchard to relax in and a gym on site.
Very little value for money, for the architecture course I can't fault the staff as they put it lots of hours to make up for very little organisation or support from the department. We didn't have a head of department for my entire final year and one lecturer had to run all the modules. The staff are obviously treated horribly by the uni which leaves them to suddenly leave or go on strike which is their right but it does effect the teaching.
There are many different facilities that I have access to as a student at this university, the staff are alleays willing to help out and if not point you in the right direction. Thr WiFi is a bit hit or miss, it works really well in some area of the campus and just doesn't exist in others which is quite unfortunate when it struggles to reach the devices in the library.

Amazing photography facilities and the staff are very friendly and there is always someone around to help or have a chat. I don’t know much about other departments however I assume they are up to the same standard as the institute of photogrpahy. The building is well facilitated with macs and pcs in the hub and digi suite for use all day 6 days a week along with 5 studios on campus and an extra 3 off campus, machine processing, b&w and coloured darkroom, film processing rooms, photography store which is very well equipped and amazing staff. All of these areas are free to use (some after clearance) and the building has a very nice vibe and feels very open and friendly. As someone who commutes to campus the walk from the train station to campus can be a little tiring with all the stairs especially when carrying heavy equipment. I do think the cafe and shop are very pricey however do not tend to buy from there because of this so unsure on the quality of their products.
Falmouth is a beautiful place to stay, there’s a really nice creative atmosphere and everyone is really kind and helpful. The lecturers are also great, you really get the sense that they want to help you and push you to do your best. However, the Falmouth campus does feel more like a college than a university- it is very small scale and you are likely to only use one building for most of the time, which is not what I envisioned my experience to be like. A few negatives is that the cafe and printing are very expensive, the library is extremely small and, because I am on such a large course, it is difficult to get much one to one time with tutors. The facilities that I have used are very high quality.

Famouth university, (more specifically the games academy and design centre) have awesome facilities! It’s a shame though as Falmouth uni seems to be getting overcrowded, numbers growing every year. It feels like they are not qdding to the facilities for the extra people

Absolutely amazing unique experience at this university can’t recommend this place more the campus is full of colour and has a lovely botanical feel great for any artist.
Fantastic place to study and live
Falmouth university is a great place to study, with great support from the lecturers. There are plenty of facilities available.
Offer great services, campus is great but the uni offers little to no support with bereavement or disabilities / learning needs unless you want to kill yourself or physically can't walk respectively. Personally, since being diagnosed with dyspraxia, I have received little support.
The lecturers on my course were great but don’t expect any support from the well-being team unless you are having suicidal thoughts. I lost a close family member during my studies and there was no support for this at all, I just got pointed towards external charities for support which made me feel like the uni didn't want to help at all.
okay the uni is alright for some courses, a lot has moved online after covid which is disappointing
Falmouth university was a good university to go to. It is very diverse and multicultural. It has many cafes on campus which is great.
Great uni, thoroughly enjoyed my time studying. had some trouble with organisation for funds, back of house and support. very slow and a clear lack of communication within the back of house team.

I feel safe at the Quarry. Jo makes sure everyone is well looked after ,everyone loves Jo! We also love the seasonal socials and food in the common room :) . Talking about the common room , I often use this space to study and chill out , in my study breaks I always pop by to see Jo :) . Also , I’m a big fan of the student food bank situation we have going on , when I’m struggling with money it is nice to know I can cop a can of chopped toms and bag of pasta to get me by! Yay for ‘quarry nation street’ the place to be :)

As a Film student here, I can support that the facilities are incredible; from the cinema to the production studios, audio and edit suites, to the stores housing hundreds upon thousands of pounds worth of equipment one can borrow at any time, Falmouth University is the perfect place to get creative. Side note - having never been to Cornwall previously, I was not expecting it to be so gosh darn charming down here.

Last year I was a first year and we had no in-person sessions for my course. This year is much better, but the student on my course are still trying to recover from the previous year and we are still currently trying to meet new people, which does feel a little late since 2nd year is nearly over...

Falmouth uni is a great place, it's got so much to offer for anyone and everyone to have an enjoyable time. Teaching is great and the courses are full of creativity.
Falmouth is absolutely beautiful and the uni is also part of that. The staff are all friendly and ready to help, the campus is always in top shape and clean. The only thing I'll say is it is quite the workload so if you aren't up for a challenge then you will fall behind very quickly. I absolutely love it here and am so glad I chose it!
Falmouth University has been one of the most supportive universities. Providing students with industry facilities and skills, the uni fully enhances and encourages student potential when making their way to their desired careers and future choices.

Studying BA Photography here was the worst decision of my life - waste of time and money. YR 1 lecturers are useless with no clue how to 'teach' students, really disappointing. Please choose another location. The location of the university makes a huge impact, Cornwall lacks a photography industry here. Studying in London would open more opportunities to make a connections in industry. This uni is run like a factory to make money with hardly any time to discuss work with the tutors at the weekly 15 min tutorials - unhelpful. The tutors have no understanding of how to 'teach' someone. The whole course lacked direction and clarity of expectations, guidance and support. There was a 1 hr lecture per week based on theory and dated humanity, dogmatic and baseless theories. I regret going here, it was an unstimulating course, The facilities are amazing and it was a huge draw for me, but the equipment and studios would need to be booked a month in advance.
Its the one of the most nurturing, challenging and industry connected universities I’ve ever known. Popular music in particular is really hard in terms of workload and material, but their students absolutely flourish with amazing tutoring and the most positive and supportive ethos.
I study interior design and its honestly such an incredible course with the most helpful and hands on tutors!
With all due respect to some of the staff I've met during my 3 years at the Falmouth University... I must say that this institution is truly a misleading, and disgusting place. It will discriminate you, your mental situation ( if you have depression like I did) or if you're from outside UK. At first everything looks perfect. Everyone smiles, everyone tries to he nice and kind to you. Don't get fooled. Don't study here if you're a mature student. Don't study here if you have dreams. Don't study here if you are ambitious. Don't study here if you want more. If all you want is to tick the boxes and get the paper...go for it. But I can tell you... They don't care if you're doing extra outside the University. If you're pushing yourself. If you believe you can do more. If you're ambitious. Go to St Martin's or somewhere where they are competent, when you can ask questions and your tutors are professionals, working within the field. Go to better school where your tutors care.
The lecturers on the dance course at Falmouth are very very manipulative and favour students that do what the lecturers tell them to do rather than allowing each student to grow and develop themselves. . Two of the lecturers were very nearly sacked for manipulating exam scores. It was a total disgrace to be honest. Very bad atmosphere and lots of arrogant attitude problems. Awful!!
Due to discrimination I'm in 100,000 dept with no qualifications bad university do t study here study else where .
i'm really enjoying my course and its structure, which is BA Film, but i feel like they accept a lot of people, many of which don't necessarily have the interest or skills required. very nice campus but it gets boring after a while as it is a small town.
Didn't enjoy my time here at all. Course isn't stimulating or challenging, rely's a lot on group work but students never show up and lectures have no way to rectify this. Isolated campus and town, the same 2 clubs get boring after freshers week. Student Union doesn't have a lot going on, freshers tickets were overpriced and overhyped, loads of people didn't show up. Facilities were good but in short supply in comparison to the amount of students wanting to use them. Booking out studios or equipment had to be done about a month in advance to even get a look at a decent slot. Left in my first term and transferred to another University, do not regret it.
A cop out of a 'university' who care more about its lecturers than its students. I wouldn't recommend if you paid me. I've learnt more from YouTube and been more supported by a fricking bra. Just don't bother, find somewhere who actually wants to teach you and that's worth the ridiculous expense. One of the worst decisions of my life.
Well, it’s an arts uni by the beach- so expect to see a lot of people who go here for the ‘vibes’. Campus is ok however there is a lack of adequate PCs for the non Mac using population. Makes zero sense that they offer Mac book pros but not a similarly specd windows pc or laptop. This can become infuriating when your course has no computers of its own, and the soft wear you are required to run is not Mac OS compatible. As for the town it’s tiny, yes there is some stuff about but you end up getting very familiar with the place quickly. That’s not necessarily a bad thing however it does get boring after a while. WiFi is on the hull fine, and if it weren’t for a handful of total outages across both campuses then I would give 5 stars.

I study BA Fashion Photography, the course has been somewhat of a shambles. The majority of our tutors fairly unhelpful and rude at times. Lectures were seldom much help though technical workshops were great. This being said it seems that they're making some big improvement's to the course for the years below ours. Photography facilities are top notch! Really good! though the staff aren't always helpful/cooperative/nice (particularly to fashion photo students some have noticed). Library is nice, open 24/7 which is super convenient and the staff are pretty helpful. The fashion building is great, a lot of resources and opportunities for course collaboration. Student accommodation is fine, probably to expensive for what it is but it's nice enough. Falmouth is a really nice place to study - the town has relaxed atmosphere and the student community feels very connected and like a community. Wouldn't venture outside of falmouth/truro personally though.
It was a dream come true to attend falmouth, and my expectations have been exceeded multiple times.
Hidden gem of a uni, unlike many others with an individual experience.
Facilities are great, and if you want a smaller, rural campus this is the place for you. Good university with a heap of investment. I was unfortunate enough to be one of the last students of the BA (Hons) Theatre course, which was cancelled the year after I graduated and the majority of the staff were sacked. We had all joined hoping for an actual theatre course, as would be suggested by the degree title, but what we got should have been called Performance Art. Not once did we look at a single script or do a scrap of acting. The only way to pass this degree was by copying the style of the lecturers. They had obvious favourites, and would go to particular students performances and boycott others. Each lecturer had their own art, and I say art loosely. It was all based around "life is art", to the extent that in one lecture we had ANAL PORN playing in the background, because... ART. I'm not surprised it was cancelled, just wish I hadn't wasted my time.
great staff teaching on the mfa program but no support from the university who wanted to close the course which lots of doubt and uncertainly, lost the tutor in last 3 months of the course who was not replaced had the cheek to constantly email for fees during this time. Terrible attitude towards the staff on the course could never recommend for this reason. Everyone completed the course but this was without doubt inspire of not because of the institution.
Good university however absolute nightmare to get housing in the area and not enough university accommodation.

Falmouth is my dream university. The whole place is surrounded by a chilled, earthy aura, and yet the uni is still incredibly driven to better itself. I loved watching Dawn French's installation speech when she became our First Chancellor. She expresses the power of arts in society, and Falmouth is the place to be to feel this.

So far the university itself seems good.
Brilliant campus filled with so many opportunities. The photography centre lets you hire out equipment that you may never try again, the support is insane and there's always somewhere to go and have a great time. The buildings are easy to navigate around and the gardens are beautiful.
Overall, I think that Falmouth is a fantastic art school, and I feel really proud to be a part of the University.
The university clearly cares about making it as easy as possible for students to experiment and excel in their degree course. My degree is very dependent on software, research resources and subject specific equipment, and these are all top notch on the Penryn campus.

The campus has everything you need and the facilities are brand new and amazing, the lectures are top quality and socially the uni is great. Couldn't have gone to a better uni. I love it here.

Creative bunch in the middle of a budget Los Angeles
Having the best time of my life here and my course is fantastic.
Falmouth University has always made me feel at home, even though it's 4 hours away from my actual home. All the lecturers seem great and the facilities are beyond my wildest dream. There's no other University I know of in the UK that has Palm Trees on campus.
The uni just hits all the right notes. You can always expect more but realistically Fal does everything you need at a more than acceptable quality.

The campus is beautiful and has a peaceful atmosphere which makes it perfect to study! It also has an aura of excitement with the wide range of events, societies and personal explorations in and around the university campus. The Student Village is a perfect way to make friends especially if you are travelling on your lonesome and want to make some new friends. Your University friends become your life long friends, and you start making your life long friends once you walk into your Residence! The beaches are to die for and top it off to make my university experience the best I could ever ask for!
