This is my first time renting in the Quarry and for a first experience I have to say it's been pretty good so far! Management is very friendly, considerate and responsible which is quite important to me. The place itself while not as accessible as some of the more centered accommodations, is very secluded and safe. Overall I'm satisfied with my stay here and hope to remain for a while.

Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.
Absolutely great place, fantastic office manager, helpful and vigilant security. Only downside is the 30 minute walk to campus but other than that, no complaints at all!

Living at the Quarry has been fab! The accommodation is modern and always clean. Jo is very friendly and is always there to help when you've got a problem. It is pricey but definitely worth the money!
The rooms and facilities are all good and new, it’s close to the center of the town. All in all great!
Management and the team are so friendly that even as an international student I don’t feel like i am in a foreign country.
I’ve been enjoying my time here. All of the ammenities are nice. I love my mattress so much. I feel very safe here because of all the locks and security guards.
So far the quarry has been welcoming and helpful, I have had no problems with residents or management. It’s always clean and the space provided is good
I am currently staying at The Quarry for my first year + I love it so much! My room is so perfect and once you decorate it to make it your own it feels so homely. The kitchen space is really lovely too - I think the addition of beanbags + a TV is such a nice touch. The location is also great, it only takes me 10 minutes to walk down into town. Sainsbury’s + Lidl are just a short walk away too + even closer if you drive (like I do). I love that you can see the sea as soon as you exit the building! Jo + Tony are so lovely too + are always there for a chat or to help out. Jo also always has good recommendations of where to go/new places to try out. My room + the kitchen were super clean + ready to go when I arrived. The social space/common room is also really nice, but I don’t personally use it. Jo puts on good events for Halloween/Christmas etc too which is so sweet + a good way to get people together. Wifi is amazing + you can connect up to 3 devices for free!
The space is beautiful, a mix of shared flats and studio apartments. I’m in an apartment for my second year and it is perfect. Jo is lovely, she really helped with any extra accessibility I needed, due to my current health issues and she created such a welcoming environment. There is a common room to hang out in and a groupchat for the residents. This chat is filled with helpful information as well as social events. If people are going out they normally always put it on the groupchat so if you’re looking for something to do, you can go out with them. The space is clean and well kept and if there’s any issues, maintenance deal with it promptly. Overall the quarry is beautiful and definitely a great place to stay while you study.
I love living at the quarry! Security and Site management are amazing!!
My last year at Falmouth has been a blast and a very important part of this was the accommodation! The Quarry is by far one of the best accommodations in the area and would definitely recommend if you are currently a student here and looking for a place to live during your studies! The manager here Jo is extremely helpful and will make sure all your needs are met. She regularly updates the students of upcoming maintenance or events going on so the communication there is excellent! The rooms are lovely too and are to a high standard but if there is any problems Tony will help out straight away. I’m so grateful for everyone that has made me feel so welcome here and I wish I discovered the quarry sooner!
The staff are lovely especially Jo she is a wonderful lady. This accommodation feels like a home from home. Could not recommend more.
The best accommodation I could ask for during the 5 years I've been studying abroad. I currently live in a Studio and while it's only for a short 1 year, it feels like home! The staff are super accommodating and always there to help for anything you might need!
Great Place with excellent management
Lived in one of the side houses, amazing, fantastic management and great accommodation.
Overall after having lived at several student accommodations during my 5 years of studying, The Quarry is a high quality and lovely place to live,
Friendly, helpful staff. Strong security so I feel safe. Great service relating to ensuring packages are in the building to collect. Strong communication letting us know about stuff when needed. Not enough kitchen storage (shelving). No windows that open in kitchen which makes the kitchen really hot. Not a big enough kitchen for whole flat - hard to make food when the kitchen is occupied.
The Quarry is a lovely student accommodation. It is perhaps a little expensive but I would say very much worth the money, especially compared to alternative accommodation options. Jo is lovely and the rest of the team are great. The location is excellent being so close to Greenbank and just a short walk from town, but far enough away to enjoy the serenity that Cornwall has to offer.
The staff are friendly and responsive, I've never had any issues with reaching out to them for help or complaints. I like that we are located close to the town center.
JO AND Tony have been so so helpful, and have made this experience unforgettable
The Quarry is a lovely accommodation. It‘s in a great location, close to the shops and town centre, but situated in a quiet area. The team is extremely kind and helpful. Any issues are resolved quickly. The other residents are also kind and respectful. I‘m staying in a studio, which is nice and airy with enough space to live and work in. It‘s very easy to feel at home here.
Currently in a studio on the top floor. The view is worth the money on its own! Jo and Tony are amazing. Nice common room. A lift in the B block! They also allow dual occupancy for those looking! Staying on for another year as it’s perfect.
The best student accommodation in Falmouth! Amazing landlord and fantastic rooms. Perfect location and a number of studios overlook the sea.
Really like area of Falmouth right by the water, next to bus stop and really nice building. Everyone was super nice and the management were so helpful with looking after our rooms and us! It was super clean and inviting. Would definitely recommend
Nice building, clean, friendly. Big thanks to Jo for being lovely and helpful.
Lovely building, short walk down to the sea and into town! Jo is lovely and makes me feel very welcome 🙂
It has a well organised space with a friend and organised people in charge
The quarry has been amazing so far, and Jo is essentially the mum of the entire building. Such an amazing environment :)
Have enjoyed my time here, very social and comfortable:)
the site manager goes above and beyond not only when issues arise with things like delivery but helping out people who are sick or in need of assistance in general
Jo is amazing. She and Tony both go out of their way to help you with whatever you need
There are so many things that make me feel positive and good about staying here at the quarry! It's close to the town centre, the bus stop is just 10 mins closer from here, travel is easy, vibes are awesome and I feel welcomed always with a smile by everyone! People staying here are all super sweet and helpful and are always there to cheer u up especially when you are away from your home country! The beauty about quarry is we have excellent security, amazing staff and we have Joanne ✨🌻 I've been here for 2 months now and i love how it's all clean and well maintained! I'm finding my stay here cozy, safe and also happy that it makes me feel like home :) I would totally recommend any new student to come join the quarry family and enjoy the events happening here at the quarry with new friends and warm vibes :) Thankyou Jo, John, and the staff to make living easier for us all!!✨🌻
I moved from the regular Uni halls to The Quarry and it was such a good decision the staff are so friendly and my rooms have been So clean both times I’ve moved in which is such a big thing for me. The building is really nice and the rooms feel cosy and livable. I have a studio right now and its a really nice space with good features. There have been times i asked for different accomodations to be made for me as i have extra needs and the staff have been there for me every time and were able to help with what i needed.
Jo is a very kind person whenever you need help she will always be there to support and help. And I really love the security guys!! They are The best 🥹
I've really liked living here at The Quarry in my 2nd and 3rd year at university ❤️ Everyone in the office is lovely and caring and want to help if things come up. My studio feels so homely and cosy and I've really settled in here. I've felt happy and relieved to come back home to The Quarry these past 2 years and I'm definitely going to miss it a lot when I leave! ♡
best accommodation ever, quite, spacious, warm welcome by staff, great customer care, all facilities of the room operational
Very good so far. Lots of older students. All very friendly. Nice room.
The Quarry was an excellent choice for my student housing needs. The room was modern and spacious, and security measures provided peace of mind. The communal areas encouraged social interaction, and the responsive management team made it a hassle-free experience. The staff and security are very kind, polite and helpful, it has made my stay wonderful!
The Quarry is such a lovely accommodation to stay and is more than expected! I feel very settled here and Jo has been more than welcoming upon my arrival here which has really made the stay. The rooms are of a very high quality and Tony is able to help you out with any maintenance issues that you may have. I only found this accommodation in my 3rd year but since arriving I wish that I could’ve experienced this accommodation much earlier into my studies! You have a lovely view of the river which is beautiful in the morning and is just the perfect place to stay. There is a range of cluster flats with en-suite rooms and studios so it is perfect for everyone! I would definitely recommend staying at The Quarry in Falmouth and I will definitely be sad to leave!!
I'm currently staying in the townhouse master bedroom it has an amazing view. Jo has been very helpful helping me settle in since I'm an international student. Jo and Tony are very welcoming people and always ready to help. They go above and beyond to make sure all my needs are available. Being in the Quarry is making my stay very pleasant.
This is my first year in The Quarry and it is very nice and would love to stay next year too.
I absolutely love it here at The Quarry student accommodation in Falmouth! It's not just a place to stay; it's become a home away from home for me. The staff is nothing short of amazing. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and are always ready to help with a friendly smile. The rooms are fantastic, clean, and well-maintained. But it's the sense of community and the welcoming atmosphere that truly sets The Quarry apart. I couldn't have asked for a better place to live while studying in Falmouth. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for student accommodation!
Staff has been real kind and helpfull.
Perfect and stress-free place to live in! I've been renting various student accommodations in the UK for the past 4 years and this is by far the best place to live in. You can focus on your studies without worrying about your room, which happened a lot before living here. Doesn't matter what the weather is like, my room always stays dry and warm. Easy to get to either campus from here too! Management is amazing! There's always something going on and all the tenants are nice so you have plenty of opportunities to socialise and meet new people. If you choose to rent somewhere else- good luck.
nice owners, very small room and can be a little isolating
The Quarry is a perfect location, a 5 minute walk to the sea if you’re into sea swimming! clean, warm and big rooms with lovely building managers who are happy to help with any tiny issues, a big common room where they host lots of social gatherings, free pizza and parties, a 10 minute walk to town, 10 minute bus ride to Penryn campus, and the fact that all bills are included is a huge bonus, especially now during the cozzie livs crisis! I chose to move in a few weeks late due to my original accommodation falling through and I couldn’t be happier and more comfortable in this space! Jo and her team sorted me with a room within a matter of days and i’m so grateful and comfortable here now! I’ve got the perfect mix of a social space, but feel like I have my own little flat because the rooms are so sound proof. :)
I’m currently living there and loving it great room and people. Staff are amazing and really nice. Your not to far form Falmouth centre but a good enough distance away where you don’t need to worry about noisy nightlife.
A fun accommodation filled with really nice people from all around the world.
Hello, so the only problem I have with the quarry is the unsecured wifi connection. I have been getting password resets due to my passwords all being available for anyone in an unsecured connection. thankfully I have 2 step verification throughout my ids.
Students and staff are really friendly here and it is also near the docks which has a great view.
Nice place to stay, Martha the cat is adorable, my flatmates are lovely and considerate, and Jo and the team are always very helpful and friendly. Only downside is a bit of a walk to Falmouth Uni (30min, and there is a hill), but generally a great place to stay!
A nice place to stay for last year
I’m currently staying at The Quarry and it’s a lovely place to stay. The place is clean, rooms are well maintained, wifi is great. Shared spaces are also great. Comfortable place to live in. Joanne is an amazing host. She is very helpful and supportive in every way.
I love the architecture and homely feel of the building. It's extremely comfortable and feels like a home away from home. The social space is brilliant too and well set up. The location is close to town and the high street so it's quite accessible and makes getting around town easy.
Super lovely place to live, clean modern rooms and a short walk into town. Small flats so meeting people can be tricky.
Great place to live. Jo is very reliable & quick to respond to any of our needs.
Really great staff, lovely clean rooms and just a really nice place to live!!
Great location close to the Greenbank and right on the sea. There's a small beach nearby with a nice green area to chill and do work when it's not raining. The staff at the Quarry are all awesome. Jo manages the place impeccably and always has time for the residents. The common room is right next to main office and it is very comfortable with pod coffee making facilities. Overall, a lovely place to be that takes the edge off the pressure of study.
Me and my partner have been living at the quarry for a few months now and have had a great time in our superior studio. Really warm and well insulated, with none of the damp problems we usually have in Cornwall. In addition to this, staff and security have been super great, helpful, and accomodating. I would definitely recommend the quarry to anyone in need of accomodation while at university. Get your room while they're available too because they get booked up fast!
Fav place to hang out is outside Jo’s office and the common room. Common room is always kitted out with seasonal decor which is greatly appreciated and crafty social events which are always put together. I love the fact that we have a student food bank here , it is nice to know I can get a free can of chopped toms or pack of pasta when I am struggling with money . Jo looks after her Quarry clan at the place I like to call ‘quarry nation street’ . bloomin brilliant!
Fantastic experience living here, the manager Jo is delightful, the kitchen is comfortable and spacious, bedrooms have great layouts and big windows with natural light. I feel very at home here and would highly consider staying again next year!
Very kind and welcoming staff who are always there for students to go and chat to. Staff put on activities every month for residents to get involved with, and you’re only a short walk from anything you need.
Really friendly staff and lovely spacious rooms.
The kitchen is really nice, I like the addition of a living room type area with the TV, it helps a lot with social things. The bedroom is really nice, everything you need all in one place.
I am currently staying at the Quarry and I love it here. The property manager is really nice and ready to help at any time
The rooms and kitchen has plenty of space, all the employers I have met are all friendly people trying the hardest to create a safe, clean and comfortable environment. They host social gatherings for seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas with pizza and movies and useful starter packs for students! . I think all these factors combine makes the quarry a great place to rent a room. Not to mention the beautiful sea view I get everyday and since living here have seen now 5 rainbows upclose going into the sea :)
Lovely staff on site and perfect location.
Whilst the location is nice, and the view from some windows is great, the living experience in the Quarry has been abysmal. The pricing of the accommodation is ridiculous: the kitchens are small with minimal storage space (I've resorted to storing some pans and pots in my room), the rooms are small and narrow with horribly designed windows (most residents shut their blinds throughout the day and night, otherwise everyone can see wagwan in your room), the laundry facilities are ridiculous and expensive (there are only 2 washing machines and two driers for 120+ students and you'll be spending £20 per month on average just for the laundry. Finally, the accomodation was built in a residential area with next to no regard for the local residents. The residents like to show their dissent too. You'll be charged £84 if you forget your key in your room - door locks as soon as you leave the room. Night security (8pm-4am) here is good though. No security between 5pm-8pm or weekends. CRM Wripoffs..
Booking was very easy to follow and quick to do! Good clear steps all the way, amazing!
Really easy to navigate on the website and the staff is really helpful and friendly. Quick at replying so no waiting around for advice or inquiries.
