The school is very good and has a big library. But my major is in an off-campus studio, so I don't go to school very much, but there are many activities and lectures, and I can gain a lot. The teacher is very kind and will always encourage you to do what you want, very good!

Great staff that actually cares about you
AUB is a wonderful school if you’re looking for a welcoming and creative environment full of life and collaboration.
Just good as I do think BU offers a little bit more
The campus is great and cozy. The staff are really helpful in all of the departments. The wifi can be slow sometimes but most of the time it’s manageable.
This value should not be left blank xoxoxo
Great technical faciilties. Technicians are helpful and go above and beyond. The course itself was disorganised. The content of the course itself was thin. I found my course was mainly self directed, and learned via alternative online purposes. Felt as if my cohort was an after thought and more of a "money grab" as lecture/ timetable/ learning provisions were not really geared towards our outcomes or the depth of learning I would have expected at this level. The lecturues we're friendly, it seemed as if there were being stretched too thinly by their other commitments/ Uni commitments though. The student portal/ app UI is laughable, and far more complicated than it needs to be, inefficient, and more often than not crashing/ not working properly. In my experience, communication is an issue in this institution at various levels. I met some great people here on this course, and I like the fact that they encourage you to collaborate with students on other courses.
The university has no spots for lounging, or working casually. The one shop university has is unreasonably expensive. There's very little "life" to be found here, SU isn't given much anatomy.
Pros: Enthusiastic lecturers. Friendly staff. Excellent and up-to-date facilities. Fun and exciting courses. Cons: Confusing campus layout (but you'll get used to it). Expensive food and drinks (most students end up bringing their own foods and drinks).
Lovely uni, really enjoyed my experience!
Good university, very bad WiFi
Really great learning spaces, friendly lectures willing to help with anything
Beautiful campus, amazing support network and so many opportunities available it’s hard to keep up sometimes :) l
I have had a positive experience studying at AUB. The best part of the university is that everyone is able to collaborate across courses, helping each other with different projects. I feel I have made connections that will help me in my future industry, the university feels like a little creative hub, perfect for networking!

The infrastructure of the school is fantastic! Especially the teachers, Lauren from the photography major and the technicians are very patient and have strong teaching ability!
Not clear timetables and information, not properly working programs. Not really a educational experience, it's based all in self studying with personal subective tutorial opinions, without any specific study directions. Poor technical skills educational experience. Better do a free YouTube tutorials or some paid courses, would be more beneficial for you!!! No parking available- no information provided where that is possible. Not inspirational atmosphere for art disciplines.
Nice campus, with some good places to eat nearby.
It’s really good , learnt a lot from being there
Like my course, staff are helpful
Really good uni, enjoying my course
Very friendly and welcoming college
A lovely uni. Lecturers are always willing to help and chat to help you. It is also not far from Bournemouth town centre so is easy to get to
Helpful staff with writing and mental health. Courses are interesting and specific to the future people will like to obtain.
good working place for collaborating with other courses
Enduro am will be my death by wifi
Very nice campus good lecturers
Decent, could do with more on campus and rooms are not large enough to facilitate for class size
The campus and courses themselves are great, some of the starting up and enrollment is naturally challenging just because the arts university apps can be difficult to navigate/not notify you when you have a new email so it requires regular check ins. Other than that theres no faults
Great university in a beautiful location.
Welcoming and friendly campus with a community feel
The campus and equipment is nice and the teachers and classmates is friendly and helpful.
Enjoying my time at AUB so far
Extremely kind and welcoming atmosphere on campus. Good sense of community with plenty of opportunity in industry
Campus and facilities are excellent and access to BU campus means extra study spaces and facilities
Good uni, very helpful teachers, really helped me in my course.
I have been there and I had a great experience. Very clean place and the staff really helpful
Experience was great! loved my course!
I did the foundation course at aub and i won't lie im very glad i won't be staying next year. The studio spaces and campus facilities are lovely and the majoroty of staff are incredibly helpful. However, there is a severe problem of miscommunication. Often there were issues with timetables where we would not know if we had a session until the day it was happening. There were constant mixed messages about deadlines and requirements which added an uneseccary amount of stress. Furthermore, part way through the course UAL completly restructured the course and the uni made many of their best teaching staff redundant. From that point on particularly in the fine art pathway it felt as if we were being boxed into working practices that did not represent the pathway we had chosen and were much more suited to people of a design or illustartion practice. There is the chance that much of this may have been resultant of the covid-19 pandemic however my gut tells me there are deeper issues here.
Love the university! Everyone is so helpful and understanding. The food and items the campus offers are great too.
I like it so you might like it too depending on what you want to study if you like theory or practical work more.
Really nice modern university with good facilities and good atmosphere
So glad that I picked AUB, it’s perfect for me. Loads of opportunities to collaborate with other courses, great support and a nice community.
Very good university and excellent course (Film Production) Friendly and interesting staff. Looking forward to returning next year!
Such a lovely uni with such lovely spaces. They've always been so supported of their students.
have made a lot of friends here, love it
Great time was had, loved it, would recommend, good staff and facilities all round.
I'm studying at AUB for the Foundation and I'm definitely not staying any longer. On our first day our tutor asked if we knew what a glue stick is and whether we knew that there was more than one type of pencil. The facilities are fine, people can be a little judgy, especially the fine artists. Lots of smokers. Food is fine but stay away from the canteen chips. Courses can be misleading, don't just go off of the lecturers words, ask the students! My friend didn't and is now stuck on a course she doesn't want to pursue at all.
Very clean uni. Amazing off campus opportunities. The nachos are gorgeous.
Good location, great staff, needs more stuff outside to do in the garden spaces
Going to AUB was the best decision of my life.
Very bad experience not nice place
I've had an amazing time at AUB. The campus has a brilliant vibe and I have learnt so much from the lecturers, tech dems and students (on my course and other courses). The facilities are outstanding. None of the other universities I visited have anything like as good. And the library is superb - not stuffy and dull like most uni libraries! I still have another year to go but so far I have no complaints (except maybe the canteen food can be a bit weird). I don't recognise the university some of the negative reviews on here describe - I would recommend anyone thinking of coming here visit for themselves to an open day.

Nice uni and easy to get around and get used to
Loved it, and now I heard they've improved the campus even more since I left!
Love it! Wish I could stay forever...!
The location is great and the facilities are pretty modern, but we lucked out with a bad course leader. The library is one of the best I have ever seen, has a small museum inside, could do with more computer workstations but most people have a laptop anyway, so expect to need one of your own. There is a good stock of equipment and in high demand, so its advisable to think ahead and book out what you need well in advance, you will obviously need your own camera, but you don’t need to spend thousands of pounds on extra stuff as you can book out lighting kits, mounts, film cameras etc. By the end of the first term the course leader had pretty much decided who his “gems” were going to be, and those people then get more opportunities like having their work passed on to well known companies to push their projects forward without the rest of the course knowing until it’s already been done. There is a real “them and us” attitude with our course leader, he is pretty patronising.
The university campus is beautiful and the university overall is a very creative collaborative place. The students are the best thing about the university because everyone is so passionate about what they do. The downfall to the university lies in the organisation of the courses. The university is supposedly one of the best places for film however the course is all over the place. There is a lack of communication between student and lecturer. At the beginning of term the timetable was so bad that I would turn up for lectures to find out there was no lecture at all. The equipment for the course is brilliant, however you are not fully trained to use the equipment. Instead you get a quick lesson on how to use things and are expected to know how to work everything that's thrown at you. Some lecturers sometimes patronise and undermine you if you don't know something instead of offering support. I learnt by myself and other students mostly as I couldn't rely on lecturers. AUB looks good onCV
Overall a good university with a creative campus and a feeling of community. The counselling and well-being services are incredibly valuable and supportive, would benefit from more funding to prevent long waiting periods. However, I have been left feeling bitterly towards my own experience and course due the nature of the course leader. It frequently felt like there were privileges and favouritism towards students resulting in a completive atmosphere, creating work to please the leader, rather than being encouraged to create the best work for ourselves as individuals. The communication with the course leader was weak and there was a lack of effort support myself despite the fact I had a registered disability. There is a less than personal approach to the projects and during the time of my Final Major Project I received no individual tutorials to discuss my work even though I attended everyday. My final feedback for the year was three unconsidered sentences. Visual Communication.
I did the 2D Animation Production course quite a few years back and to be perfectly honest, you'd be better off saving your money and looking else where - They don't teach properly or even provide you with the bare minimum knowledge of programs you'd need for entering the industry and even when they do teach it, they normally show it to you ONCE AND ONLY ONCE and expect you to know there off then. There's really a lot I could say but as I said, better to keep your options open and look outside of the UK even
Ok facilities but academic quality is horrible
Great University, excellent teaching guidance and support, fantastic facilities. Lovely welcome and creative environment always lots going on around campus. Definitely a University for the creative and quirky!
I couldn't have picked a better place to go to university. The equipment available is exactly what I need to develop my skill and practice. The facilities available is fantastic with a large library, spaces to work, opportunities to meet with teaching staff and support staff always there when in need of extra help.
Great facilities with a really friendly vibe throughout campus, full on courses giving us outstanding job prospects for the future.
Amazing modern facilities, helpful teachers.
Amazing campus with friendly staff. The career opportunities are endless and tutors push you to achieve your best
A beautiful looking university filled with excellent facilities and teachers. Whatever course you're on there is always a high level of expertise get a relaxed atmosphere that allows you to feel right at home.
My experience so far has been negative. Too many students have been let into the foundation studies course, we have been given a new tutor each day meaning that our progress can not be tracked and receiving guidance is difficult, some tutors are sarcastic and vague when giving briefs which in turn produces 'unsatisfactory and disappointing' work. Also needs a student car park, it is easier and cheaper to drive to uni rather than get a bus when it rains, and I cannot be expected to carry around large pieces of work and heavy bags everyday to a university with no lockers or secure student storage space. This university/course needs to start caring about education and their students.
A great university with a sense of community and a modern campus, the grounds are inspiring and great to be surrounded by creativity and artistic students
Good Uni, needs to make adjustments for this years higher student population
Lovely chilled vibe. Loving Film Production!
This whole university excels in creativity, diversity, organisation, and quality education. The staff and students alike share a passion for beauty, and express it through events and works of art that are shared with Bournemouth's community and abroad.
An amazing uni with a brilliant creative atmosphere
I am having a really great time in AUB as a second year graphic design student. I have to say the tutors are being really helpful to improve my design level.
Best learning experience! Great opportunity to meet people and collaborate on projects with like-minded people.
The best specialist university in the country. Period.
Incredibly diverse and collaborative atmosphere due to the university being exclusive to creative subjects. A greatly inspiring place to study.
Can't fault my experience so far!
teachers of film production have limited expertise in their 'specialist field and what we do learn could have been read in a book or online. Their marking and feedback on work is limited, often with a single sentence of constructive criticism.
Visited once and then refused to go anywhere else. I can't express enough the quality of the course, the teaching and the contact hours. I had absolutely no experience in my course prior to going there, but they really worked with me and invested a lot of time and patience helping me. I would still refuse to go anywhere else.
Location wise it's perfect, the staff are well trained, not one of my friends has said anything bad about this university, and the campus is still growing with new facilities that have been designed by top architects
An amazing university with many opportunities available.
Such an amazing environment for all creative courses, all students work together and in such a welcoming campus. Staff go above and beyond with a lot of contact time and advice whenever you need it. Due to it being small there's a big creative social scene.
A great place with lots of character! All the courses work together to create a happy atmosphere. Such a good place to let your creative side out!
Having been a student in the first year to pay close to 9000 a year, I am a little disappointed with the lack of resources available on my course and the lack of one to one tutoring. My course didn't even provide paper or pencils, and I had a total of 2 tutorials over 2 terms for my final project which is supposed to be the most important project of my academic life. The campus itself is a fantastic place with a very creative buzz and the library is an excellent resource for specialist information regarding your subject. However there are very few clubs and societies run by AUB itself, most of which are related to art. I don't know about anyone else by it would be nice to meet up with students and not talk about art when you are doing art 24/7. AUB students can join the numerous societies provided at the neighbouring university BU so this makes up for it somewhat. The students union isn't particularly prominent on campus, I didn't even know where their office was until the last term.
Arts University Bournemouth provides great opportunity to turn creativity into a successful career.
An outstanding creative university that offers valuable experience in knowledge. With growth over the next few years it certainly be making an even bigger impact.
Tutors are only interested in the progress of their favourite students. There is a lot of unfairness going around and this is never addressed as everyone is constantly trying to impress. You are made to focus on areas of the subject that you don't want and feel forced in to making decisions.
The Arts University Bournemouth is a great place to learn a lot of creative skills and knowledge through the industry, which will guide you in the right direction to your dream career.
Books in the library are limited , lacks of macs desktop, small building with lots of students. No space to spread out ( fashion student)
After finishing my first of three years studying at the AUB, I have progressed and improved at an incredible speed. Without the help and support given to me throughout the year, I doubt I would have been as successful anywhere else. I have had incredible opportunities and I have barely begun. I can't wait for my next year, and the outlook for my future seems bright as the AUB has links in the industry and such a fine calibre of students. It sometimes feels like I'm dreaming to be working and learning from such fantastic tutors in such a campus. The workload is huge, but the more you put in, the more you get out. The AUB is definitely the place to be for creative individuals.
Fantastic artistic vibe with plenty of tools, rooms, learning facilities and everything else to nuture creativity. Neighbouring Bournemouth University offers more clubs/ pub events.
Having just finished my first year at AUB I love it and have really felt at home and welcomed in by the staff and friendly students. Our university is specialist in the field of arts and media meaning that we get specific learning for our needs to achieve in the creative industries. Everyone is likeminded and the lecturers are specialists in the arts therefore this is a great university for anyone creative to join.
A place that cares more about profit than student.
The most amazing university. I learn so much everyday. And i dont get tired of it, because im having fun at the same time
Incredible place to study animation! Staff and student services are also incredibly kind and supportive!
I'm a second year architecture student and so far the university is best. And I'm very happy and satisfied with the facilites and the quality of education that we get.
AUB is amazing. It has nurtured my skills and turned my creativity into a career. Going here was the best decision.
Acting department is right next to a construction site that's very loud during lessons. And there's hardly any WiFi in acting blocks.
