The place is exceptionally quiet, providing a conducive atmosphere for studying and relaxation. Moreover, the cleanliness was impeccable, making it a comfortable and hygienic living space. Additionally, I want to highlight the excellent support provided by Mark, a staff member at the accommodation. On a couple of occasions, I needed assistance, particularly with changing a light, and Mark was incredibly prompt and helpful. His responsiveness and willingness to assist contributed significantly to the positive experience of living here.

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Great staff, very welcoming and helpful. Especially David, who works in the Surrey Living Hall. Really great guy, he helped us through thick and thin during the three days he worked in Raymont Hall, always with a smile and a witty joke. Nice location, close to uni. The rooms a bit messy but they usually fix everything quick (thanks to Paolo).

I like the place. It’s close to the campus, around 15 minutes walk and it’s close to a Sainsbury’s local too.

Overall positive experience. A few minor issues but nothing significantly problematic
Hi! Thank you for your review. We are pleased to see that you are having a positive experience staying with us at our Raymont Hall Village.
I lived here last year. There's a lift in one of the buildings, however, it was never repaired. Also, they ignore negative comments towards staffs. The way they handle issues is very disappointing. Besides the above-mentioned, you woke up every Thursday morning by the false fire alarm. It also happened on other days. In the end, you wouldn't know if there's a real fire happening. Yet, they never took this matter seriously.

poor water quality and often broken heating, lift has been broken for most of my stay and black mould in bathrooms.
Hi. Thank you for your review, although we regret to hear that you have not had the best possible experience whilst staying at our Raymont Hall student village.
All the staff at Raymont Hall are very friendly and the location is great. The big issue this year has been the lift constantly breaking and being out of order. Extremely inconvenient if you have a disability or if you have heavy luggage to take up three flights of stairs. Room sizes can be very different; you might be paying the same amount as your neighbour who has a large room even when you have a small room. We have also had issues with external maintenance workers (e.g plumbers) coming into our rooms when we are away and not locking the doors after them. This has happened twice this academic year. The maintenance team that are on site every day are quick at resolving issues and are very friendly and chatty. The reception staff always greet you. My experience at Raymont Hall has been positive overall. It is a 20 minute walk from Goldsmiths campus and Brockley is a lovely area of London to live in, with the Overground, shops and a large park only 5 minute walk away.
Hi, Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you had an overall positive experience staying at our Raymont Hall student village and that the location and local amenities are exactly what you were looking for. Thanks!
These halls and the management (Campus Living Villages) are appalling. We were paying £134-177 per week to live on a building site. We were never told there would be major building works going on before or after we signed a contract. We are woken up are 8am every morning by drilling etc. We were advertised that we would be getting a garden and a common room - our garden is non-existent as it is a building site now, our common room is actually in a completely different building and is freezing cold. We managed to get our rent reduced after a battle with the private company running the accommodation. For some reason we had to fight this as they couldn't see that not telling us we'd be living on a building site for our first year was wrong. This building work will we going on until next year (2017-2018 intake). I would advise anyone not to book accommodation here next year (or at Surrey House, the same thing is happening there with the company). There are better options for the same price
this is supposed to be a non-wifi hall, but they do have wifi for most rooms and offer free internet cable. its in a nice, quieter/safer area (although quite a walk from uni) with cafes and a shop right by the corner and a spoons as well. There is a piano room, a rather big garden and a common room.
