Sherren House is ideally located a mere ten-minute walk from the main Queen Mary University campus and is situated in the East London area of Mile End. When looking for entertainment you can take a twenty-minute stroll to Shoreditch. If you want to travel further, the Stepney Green tube is only five minutes away.
After a hard day's work, you can take a breather in the common room that is fitted with a TV, pool table and foosball. The is a study room available if you are looking for a quiet space to work. When you need to stock up on groceries there is a supermarket right next door.

What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

worst property. 1. rat lives in our kitchen and nothing is being done about it 2. couldn't use my shower for a week because it broke and they didn't have the right part. had to use my roommates shower 3. maintenance came to fix the issue after 2 weeks of waiting and left the door to my room ajar for the whole day even though I explicitly asked to lock it (I had to leave my room because of classes). when I picked this property I was mislead by positive reviews on google, trust me, it's the worst property, don't ever apply here, it's cheaper and safer to rent an apartment with someone, than stay here with a rat in the kitchen. also the maintenance workers themselves pointed out how old furniture and shower amenities are in Sherren house compared to other accommodations

Generally okay, except for every maintenance issue (of which there were many). Burst pipe in the wall and inadequate extractor fan brought mold that never went away. Recurrent silverfish problem. People smoking near my window made it hard to vent out my room. This also meant I had mold problems from condensation until I got a dehumidifier. In the summer I would regularly be subject to temperatures above 26 degrees (after trying methods to cool the room). Living next to the door of the building was a serious noise issue that caused me much distress and cost me sleep. Almost none of the problems I reported were ever solved. Front desk staff were hit or miss. Some were very friendly, engaging, and took me seriously, some were hard to approach. One of the ones who actually helped me solve problems left the team halfway through the year. No privacy in kitchen due to lack of blinds, despite the distance from the oven/hob. Staff and contractors would walk through my flat hallway unannounced.

The accommodation is pretty clean and the rooms are big. However, the bathrooms can cause major issues and maintenance requests take a while to be resolved.
It's good property, for a student who's lectures are at Mile End campus this is perfect place to be at. It's quite and location is also good.
Lovely staff, shabnom took care of my check in very smoothly and made me feel at home, she also handled the maintenance requests very swiftly. Ben and Miguel have been excellent and took care of all maintainance issues quickly and effeciently

Sherren House offers a decent accomodation for post-graduate students of QMUL. Located near the main campus, students save on travel costs as the campus is located 10mins away from the building. Hillary is a brilliant accomodation manager, always friendly and ready to help!

Darshini here. It's been 6 months here in Sherren House. The people here in the front office are friendly and supportive. Especially Hilary and Steven. Hilary was generous enough to help me carry my suitcase to the 2nd floor. Shabnam was sweet and helped with paying my rent installment and explained me patiently. All the people working here are sweet they greet and treat us appropriately. Should definitely say about the night shift people, I have seen them in the morning 5 or so and they would be awake, that's great work. They also update me with events and my parcel arrivals, that's so sweet. Thank you all for making the stay feel like home.

Hilary and Stephen are very helpful with us, for example, Hilary is very friendly to tackle the issues happened in the flat, including sink leaking or any relation issues between flatmate.

It’s been really great to stay in Sherren House these past few months. It’s 15 minutes from QMUL campus and there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby as well. One of the best things about living in Sherren is the Unite Students staff that are onsite. Stephen and Hillary have been extremely helpful! They are always jovial, ready to provide assistance when needed and willing to lend a listening ear. I’d definitely recommend Sherren House to a friend.

The security is not a enough Not all the walls are fenced, thus a bike is stolen from Sherren house. Sherren house need to take enough precautions to make us feel secure enough Also in some shift security members don’t know how to open the car entrance door. Everything at sherren makes me feel like home, especially the staff at Sherren I want to tell you that Carlos Hillary Shebnom and Steven are my go to people they take care of everything and I never felt like these people are unapproachable.
